Features to know about

Easy Loading for Every Ride: Dual Arms with HideAway Cradles

Getting bikes on and off the rack should feel simple. The Thule Camber’s dual folding arms use HideAway anti-sway cradles with ratchet straps that hold each bike by the top tube and seat post, keeping them steady and separated. Grooves in the cradles protect brake and shifter cables, and the soft rubber design keeps paint safe from scuffs. The arms slope upward for better ground clearance, and when you’re done riding, they fold down with the pull of a HitchSwitch lever to make parking or storing the rack easier.

Smooth Access When You Need It: Tilts Down Without Removing the Rack

The Camber doesn’t make you unload just to reach your gear. With the HitchSwitch lever at the base of the mast, it tilts away—bikes removed—for quick access to the cargo area. When you lift it back, it clicks into place securely. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference for quick stops and errands between rides.

Quiet, Steady Transport: Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin and Threaded Design

No one likes a rack that shakes on the road. The included threaded hitch pin tightens the Camber solidly into place, cutting back on rattle in the receiver. A removable adapter sleeve lets it fit both 1-1/4" (Class II only) and 2" hitches. Tighten it down with the supplied wrench, and the rack stays firm and quiet mile after mile.

Built to Ride for Years: Steel Construction and 37.5 lb Per-Bike Capacity

Every detail is made for lasting use. Black powder coated steel keeps rust at bay, and the rack supports up to 4 bikes at 37.5 lbs each. With a total carrier weight of 34 lbs and inside cradle spacing of 6-1/2", it balances strength with manageability. For bikes without a horizontal top tube, an adapter bar can be added, and optional locks are available for extra security. The Camber is made to haul steady and stay dependable every trip out.

We use it regularly. Even at my age (73) I have little difficulty getting it on and off the hitch and attaching the bikes. The straps cannot be pulled too tight or they are a bear to get off by yourself.

by:

Very solid rack. I wish a locking pin for the hitch was included.

by:

Have really enjoyed being a customer of etrailer. Their [online] videos are key to give you DIY confidence Got this hitch and a rack earlier this week. Installed it today with my son. Took about 4 hours in the garage on the crv. All working well so far.

by:

Very easy to install and to attach our bikes- two adult bikes and two children's 20 inch bikes. The bikes are very secure on the rack. There is minimal movement while driving. It is also easy enough for me to attach alone and I'm not that strong and I have a bum shoulder. This rack works perfectly with our 2019 Subaru Ascent.

by:

Bike rack performs well. We us it every weekend and leave on the car in winter. The only reason I did not rate with 5 stars is due to the fact that it is difficult to put the 4th bike on.
Works great for 3 bikes but is a challenge when adding the 4th. My understanding is that this is a common issue with any bike rack and I should have purchased a bike rack which can hold 5 bikes to easily fit 4 bikes.

by:

I bought this rack in case my riding friends and I had an accident and needed to haul all the bikes. The most bikes I put on the rack so far has been 3. It was a tight fit, but it worked (Road bikes). The rack did wobble some from side to side, so I purchased a stabilizer and now it is solid. Not sure why it did that. I made sure to tighten everything. When looking for a locking key, the only one that I found would work is the Thule lock. Kinda expensive. While I spent extra after market, the rack feels solid, and I am comfortable knowing my bike is not just going to fall off my vehicle.

by:

This has been a great product and a huge upgrade over our old trunk-mount bike rack.

It holds our bikes super steady even when we're driving over gravel or dirt roads. I never have had a problem getting the bikes on or off the rack, and although I have heard that some people have trouble with the fasteners, I've never had a problem with ours.

The only minor issue I have had is that the bolt attaching the rack to the trailer hitch gradually loosens slightly after extensive use with 3 or 4 bikes. Every ten trips or so I re-tighten it a little.

by:

This is a sturdy bike rack that has held up great for us. It also folds down easily for easy trunk access. My only complaint would be the height and depth of the rack - for a short weakling like me, it's a little bit of a struggle/shimmy to get the bikes up that high and back far enough on the rack. Also, the plastic ties can be fussy until you realize that they need to be flush/snapped into place first before tightening (otherwise, they're difficult to tighten - that's on me for not figuring this out right away!). Overall we're pleased with it, although if we continue to drive our current car with its lame factory-installed hitch, I might opt for a smaller rack (since our hitch can only handle the weight of two bikes at a time anyway). As for etrailer, my family has bought tons of products from them over many years and have never ever had a bad experience.

Good Price! Fast Shipping! Good customer service!

by:

Easy to install trailer hitch, easy to install bike rack. Couldnt have asked for any better

by:

This was a gift for my son. He absolutely loves it! He was so excited he put it in the car Christmas Day.

by:

Product as described and fast shipping. Very easy purchase.

by:

Shipped fast and the quality is awesome. Thanks again

by:

Excellent customer service all the way around! parts come very quickly without any issues. The customer service team is very friendly and they have good knowledge of all the parts accessories.

by:

The rack looks good and solid. The instructions stink as there are no words. The Hitch pin is a screw which takes longer to install than a normal hitch pin, but it is solid. The rack performed as expected on its maiden voyage.

by:

Great purchase. Was on back order which is understandable and delivered today. Took a total of 20 min to set up. Was able to fit all four bike including the kids. Great customer service. Purchased a Hitch from etrailer also. Thanks!!

by:

etrailer.com is as awesome. They had the best price, even considerably less than Amazon. They assigned a costumer service rep to my order who was very knowledgeable. The product itself performs as expected. It is a very durable and sturdy bike rack that was super super easy to assemble. I highly recommend etrailer.com and Thule products.

by:

Ashley, who assisted me, did an excellent job of explaining things to this newbie. The two boxes arrived in only two days. Thank you very much for a fast order.

by:

I love this bike rack. I had no problem attaching it to the hitch on my 2018 Honda CRV. The HitchSwitch levers make it easy to to bring down the bike rack to get to the cargo area. Strong and solid Thule bike rack.
Great service with James and etrailer.

Fast shipping and a quality item

I did not receive the Trailer Hitch receiver. UPS only delivered the Thule Bike Rack. The Trailer Hitch Receiver is missing.

Hey, Michael! If your complete order isn't there by the end of today, please let us know. From what I can see it is out for delivery!

by:

Great quality and easy to install! Took 2 of our bikes on it this weekend and they were super stable and didn't move at all and they were easy to get on and off! One improvement we'd make is a pin attachment into the hitch so you don't need a wrench to take it on and off. Still 100% recommend for price, value and quality!

by:

I had an excellent experience purchasing my hitch and bike rack. The customer service truly stood out. When one of the items was delayed, the owner personally called me to let me know and kept me updated throughout the process. He even followed up afterward to make sure the second item arrived safely. It’s rare to find that level of care and attention these days. The products were exactly what I needed and the service went above and beyond. I highly recommend buying from them if you’re looking for quality equipment and outstanding customer support.

by:

Bike Rack is what I expected; was hoping for a locking nut so that rack could be locked. Ties/straps were somewhat hard to loosen.

by:

I have a previous 4-bike rack? but it didn’t fold up, and there were a few times that I ran into it.

  • What is the Difference Between a Class II and a Class III Hitch?
The difference between the Class II and Class III hitches has to do with their Gross Trailer Weight (GTW), their Tongue Weight (TW), and their Hitch Receiver Size. Class II trailer hitch receivers have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and can be rated up to 3,500 lbs in GTW and up to 525 lbs in TW. Class III, on the other hand, have a 2 inch receiver and have up to 8,000 lbs GTW and 800 lbs TW. I will attach a help article that goes in to more detail for you. A good example of a Class II hitch that...

  • Quality Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 4 New Mountain Bikes with Disc Brakes
Another 4 bike rack I would have you consider is the Yakima HoldUp, item # Y02443, along with the Plus 2 Adapter for HoldUp 2 Bike Carrier, 2 inch Hitches, item # Y02446. This rack is a wheel mount style for ease of loading and unloading the bikes and secures the bikes, keeping them from contacting each other or the back of the vehicle. This style is also a good choice for mountain bikes with suspensions because it is it does not compress the frame of the bike and wear the shocks.

  • Will Draw-Tite Hitch For 2017 Subaru Outback Work With Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack
For your 2017 Subaru Outback, the Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack # TH9056 is a really nice option and will work perfectly with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227. The reason for that is, when we installed this hitch on a 2017 Outback, we found it measured 3 inches from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper, and the Camber measures 7 inches from the hitch pin to the closest part of the rack, so you'll have plenty of room for the rack to fit without any interference. • Thule Apex XT vs. Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack
Hey Joel, There are a couple important differences between the Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack # TH9056 and Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Rack # TH9025XT. One of them is indeed the locks, as the Camber does not have locks while the Apex comes with a lock for the rack as well as a cable lock for the bikes. To some that's worth the additional price, but for me the most important difference is how they install in your hitch. The Camber uses a hitch pin you have to thread in and tighten with the wrench included...

Hey Sarah, The only hitch options we have for a 2018 Sonata are 1-1/4" trailer hitches. The # HR4000 is for 2" hitches so that is not going to work on that vehicle. For a hitch on that car I recommend # C11402, this is a Curt hitch with a 200lb tongue weight capacity. That is the highest capacity for that vehicle. you could use the Hollywood Destination with this hitch using an adapter, but any adapter used is going to reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50%. I’m not sure if you also need a bike rack, but a great option that will work with this hitch is the Thule Camber, part # TH9056.
