Why struggle with a heavy, oversized rack when you're only hauling one bike? The LittleShift is built for cyclists who want a quick, simple way to transport their ride, without wasted space or a complicated setup. Just load up and head out.

Your ride may change, but your rack doesn't have to. The LittleShift handles road bikes, e-bikes, gravel rigs, and even that funky cycle truck you impulse-bought. Swiveling wheel cradles adjust to fit almost anything, so if you're logging serious miles, bombing down trails, or daydreaming about future beach cruiser rides, this rack will grow with you.

Big rides need a rack that can handle the load. Even if you're rollin' on an e-bike, a beefy downhill rig, or a fully loaded commuter, the LittleShift takes it in stride with an 80 lb weight capacity. And weighing in at just under 25 lbs, it's easy to install, remove, and stash when you don't need it. Heavy-duty where it counts, lightweight where it matters.

Some racks tilt and fold, but all those moving parts can mean more flex, more wear, and less stability. The LittleShift skips the extra joints, keeping the rack itself sturdy and steady no matter what road lies ahead. With a reinforced frame, anti-rattle hitch pin, and three points of contact with your ride, everything stays firmly in place, keeping both the rack and your bike secure from start to finish. From highway cruises to rough backroads, your gear stays locked in so you can focus on the drive.

You just got back from an epic ride, legs burning but grinning ear to ear. The only thing on your mind? Kicking back and reliving the ride, and maybe a hot shower. With the LittleShift, there is no need to wrestle with your rack the second you get home. It's compact enough to stay on your vehicle, even loaded, so you can pull into the garage, shut the door, and save the unloading for later. Or, if you need your hitch free, it's light enough to pop off and stash in your trunk or garage in seconds.

A bike rack shouldn't get in the way when you're not using it. While other racks tilt to give you access to the back of your vehicle, the LittleShift doesn't have to. It sits close to your vehicle with just the right clearance, so you can open your hatch or tailgate without removing it from your receiver. So yeah, the LittleShift skips tilting, but you won't miss it.

The LittleShift's built-in step gives you a boost to grab rooftop gear or a place to rest post-ride. Swap your muddy shoes, load up extra cargo, or just take a breather. And when it's time to step away, integrated slots in the step let you thread a cable lock (sold separately) through, adding a simple layer of security to deter theft.
A great rack for a single e-bike (or any bike for that matter). Easy to assemble with provided tools and lightweight at just 25 pounds making it easy to carry, store and mount. Fitted to a Honda Ridgeline with no bike mounted, the rack sits low enough that the tailgate can be opened without contacting any part of the rack. A plus to protect your truck’s finish.
After one use I am so glad to have purchased the LittleShift Bike Rack. Assembly was pretty straight forward only taking about a half hour with all tools provided in the package. Previously, I have been trying to strap my bikes upright in my truck bed with little success. This rack holds bikes securely and with the D-shaped hitch pin the rack has almost no slop or play in the hitch receiver. Also, since it has cradles for the tires, the front wheel/ handle bars do not move around during transport. I now have peace of mind knowing my bike is well secured. The rack seems well built and I expect it to last many years.

It’s great to hear the rack’s already making your life easier, Ken. Definitely beats wrestling with straps in the truck bed I'm sure. Glad you’re feeling confident with hauling your bike now—here’s to lots of fun rides ahead!
Love the bike rack ,it takes me 10 minutes to hook up and the same to pull back off. Very light weight to handle . But is. Very sturdy to hold my bike in place. I have seen other bike racks in the same style that are 4x the cost. You won’t go wrong if your looking for a single bike rack and I do see they sell a multiple one also
Assembly was very straightforward and not complicated.
Not too heavy and fits my e-bike (60 lbs w/ 3” wide tires) very well. Fits the bill for a single e-bike.
Got just enough room to get into my 4Runner with the rear window down, but bike has to come off the rack to open the back hatch.
I love to mountain bike. 99% of the time I am going to the trail to meet buddies and carrying one bike. And usually the challenge is having time in life to do it. So I don't want to spend any time dragging out a rack from the garage. If I have an hour, I want all 60 minutes to be riding. I need a great rack, that can stay on my truck, never get in the way and always be ready.
LittleShift is that rack. It will stay on my truck, be ready to ride when I get a window of time. Doesn't get in the way, can open my hatch. Doesn't stick out, I fit in the garage and parking spaces.
Rack looks great, feels great, super easy to use. Takes less than 5 seconds to load my bike and I am on the way. Rear wheel pivot is awesome. Fits all my bikes with no adjustments needed.
It is solid. No shake and bike is very secure going down the road.
Also, having a tall vehicle and a roof rack it is really common for me to need to adjust a roof box, tie down a kayak or SUP, or put a tent on. The step is appreciated. Actually though it is my sit and enjoy a beverage after the ride seat :)

You're so right, scheduling fun things as a responsible adult can be challenging. Sounds like the LittleShift fits your needs to a T, Kevin! Hopefully this rack encourages you to schedule more time on the trails, and helps you enjoy more of that refreshing feeling a post ride hydration gives you on your after-the-ride seat.

I think this bike rack is great!!! It's very well built and I really appreciate the tire tie down on the front wheel as well as the back wheel. And I really like that it is made for a 2" reciever!! It locks in without wiggling around as well. The only thing that could make it better is if it had a lock on it instead of holes for a cable.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the rack, Robin! I'll make sure to pass on your feedback about the locks too. I totally agree with you on that. Also, what kind of bike do you ride?
This bike rack is a great single bike rack. It's easy to use and looks great. The integrate step/seat is a nice thought.

Happy to hear that you love the rack, Scott! I also agree that the added seat is nice to use when you're done with your ride and not ready to load your bike up yet :)
Etrailer sent me a rack that had been returned. I know this for 100% fact, as the package contained part of the old packaging from the previous customer, and parts inside had been duct taped closed. If I didn't need to use the rack right away I would have returned it. It looks like they didn't even inspect the rack before sending it out again.
Beyond that the rack itself is blessedly simple, which is what I wanted, but the wobble is awful. I even purchased the extra "anti-wobble locking hitch pin" that does nothing to stop the wobble, and the lock feels very flimsy. I bet I could turn the tumbler with a screwdriver.
So far, so good! The unit arrived very quickly from etrailer. I assembled it ASAP per the instructions and could load my ebike and secure it easily to my 2023 Forester. Assembly took about an hour. Next will be a load and drive test. Just waiting for better weather!

Sounds like you’re all set up and ready to roll once the weather cooperates David! Keep us in the loop with how it performs!
After discussing fit, electric mountain bike with 50" wheelbase, long handlebars, this would fit and clear my topper door; the video showed the tacoma tailgate clearing the rack .... but in my Colorado ZR2, the tailgate when lowers would hit the rack and became unusable. I thought I could adjust the cradle, but it was welded on. I was sooo disappointed and I had to return the rack. Otherwise it looked well built, etc.
Exactly what I expected. Solid construction, easy to assemble, and instructions were easy to follow. The wheel tie-down straps could use an extra inch or two. The straps were just barely long enough to accommodate my Aventure M. I would still highly recommend this bike rack.
I purchased the Benton LittleShift to replace a RockyMounts MonoRail Solo that was damaged in a car accident. Since I didn't need the tilt feature of the RockyMounts, I thought the Benton would be a perfect replacement and cost less.
Now that I've used the LittleShift for a few weeks, I really wish I would have just purchased another RockyMounts as a replacement.
The Benton requires a hitch pin, washer, nut and cotter pin to attach the bike rack to the receiver hitch. The pin is threaded with a flat side that makes installing and threading the nut tricky. The nut is too soft and I've already rounded it off a little bit. The RockyMounts uses just a simple hitch bolt, so it's much easier and quicker to attach with fewer parts to lose. No nut, no washer, no cotter pin. The Benton is also way too low to the ground, which makes driveways and uneven surfaces a challenge. The Benton frame and components feel fragile compared to the RockyMounts. The Benton also requires the use of a front strap where the RockyMounts does not. The straps, wheel cradles and adjustable arm all seem very flimsy. The Benton does not inspire the same confidence the RockyMount does. In my opinion, this is a $XXX bike rack at best. I wish there was a way to exchange it, but I guess I'm stuck with it. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra cash for a better rack and maybe consider purchasing from a retailer that allows free returns or exchanges if you're not satisfied.
Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the build considering the price. It is solidly constricted and holds the bike tight in transit. Assembly was easy and straight forward. It could probably be assembled without the simple instructions. I can remove the bike in about 25 seconds and put it on in about 40. My rack is installed on a 3rd gen tacoma with an ARE topper. There is plenty of space between the handle bars (mountain bike) and the rear window of the topper. This can be a problem with other racks. My only complaint is that the slots in the "step" will not accommodate either of my cables for locking the bike to the rack and the rack to the hitch. In researching racks, I narrowed the choice down to the Littleshift and the 1UP. I have no regrets.
I bought the Benton LittleShift because I hadn't actually seen a rack for a single bike before this one. I needed a rack to transport my 65 pound, fat-tire e-bike across the country. It worked like a charm. No rattling, completely secure the whole 2300 miles and easy to load and unload. Would recommend to anyone who needs to transport a single bike!
This bicycle rack is awesome! Easy to assemble (30 min.), directions were clear & concise. We have a 3 bike rack but my wife wanted something that she could use when she went out alone. She said that it’s more secure and better made than the Kurt rack that we have. She loves it! She said it’s very easy to get the bike on and off and the straps and front tire retainer work great! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! etrailer was easy to work with & you can’t beat the free shipping!
Absolutely the BEST bike rack on the market hands down. Easy to put together, easy to install, terrific quality, easy to use, reasonable price. The entire rack is top-shelf! Why, I might have to replace my 4-bike XXX brand with the "Benton Shifts&Grins Bike Rack for 2 Bikes" when the old one wears out. Thanks for a great product.

That is so great to hear - thank you so much! And if you're asking for an opinion, you should 100 percent upgrade to the Shifts&Grins ;)
I like that it folds down low and out of the way for entry to hatch on my car. I love the step and use it as a bench to change shoes. Rack is very secure and adjusts easily for either my road bike or my mountain bike. Unfortunately my kickbike frame at the back wheel isn't compatible with this racks wheel cup, so won't be able to travel with the kickbike on the rack as it is now. Would've given 5star if it worked for a kickbike too. I'll fiddle with turning the rear cup the other direction and if it works I'll come back and update to 5 star. Only had rack set up on the car for a few weeks so far this spring, time will tell how it performs with repeated use later.
Great customer pre support! Very easy directions to put together.
Is there a rattle proof locking bolt? I hate to think how easy it is to steal the rack, with or without my bike.
I ride a Yuba Kombi, a 6’, 60lb cargo bike with my two kids under 4 years old. For now we only need a single bike rack since we all ride the same bike. The little shift is PERFECT for us, and would be excellent for anything smaller than what we ride. Fit and finish are tight, simple to install. Very satisfied.
Was easy to put together. Perfect for a rear hitch mount. I bought for front hitch and am buying a drop down hitch so I have better sight clearance.
I was able to load up a heavy ebike (no fender on front side) by myself and rachet system seems solid. Best priced on the market and is solid.
This rack is fantastic. It's small enough to fit in the trunk of my outlander sport when not in use. Loading the bike is super easy without hassle. No noises when traveling at high speed.
The LittleShift was perfect for my bikes. I have a 26 pound comfort bike and a heavier E bike so I wanted something for both types. This rack was perfect for me! Also, I am not too "handy", but it was easy to assemble and carry around to store it.
Thanks Benton and etrailer!
Good for what it does, hold one bike. A little slop fitting in a 2” hitch, to the point I needed a stabilizer. Jeep people note, you will need an extender. You can fit a bike on but the inner pedal will hit your 5th wheel. The bike will fit with a 7” extender but your trunk will only open about 6”, until it hits the tire cup. Using a 6” drop extender, the rack fits and my trunk opens. Padding on the hook bar is minimal, to the extent I’d worry it mar the finish on a bike over time (can secure to wheel instead).
This product is very well constructed & easy to assemble. Was great price & fast & free shipping. Bike mounts perfect. Love it.
Easy install with high quality parts. The video provided was very informative with step by step instructions. With the correct tools installation took 1 hour from start to finish.

Thanks for sharing all the pics, Roderick! It's helpful to know what when folded down you still have plenty of clearance for your tailgate. That's always a question we get so your review is super helpful.
