Question:

I have a 2024 Aventon A-Level 2 step through Commuter E-bike. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium. I am a 68 year old woman, who is very strong, but would like the ease of a ramp for ease of transport. Can you recommend a good rack. Thanks,

Hello Karla,

Wow, that is a really nice e-bike! I do not blame you for wanting a ramp for your e-bike, just because you can lift your bike doesn't mean that you should. For your 2024 Aventon A-Level 2 step through Commuter E-bike I recommend the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # Y88DJ. What I really like about this rack is how the padded clamp is able to maneuver in all directions making it very easy to clamp onto the bike, it really is the reason why this rack is so great with step through bikes. You will be able to get your bike up the ramp, clamp it in place with ease so you can strap the tires in place. Also, the ramp stores behind the tray which is a great added bonus, on some of the other racks there is not a place to store the ramp.

If you have a 2" receiver on your car you will want the # Y88DJ, if you have a 1 1/4" receiver # Y28DJ. If you are not sure what size receiver you have all you have to do is measure from inside to inside. I've included a review video, and also an image of a step through bike installed, please make sure to tell me what you think.

Do you have a favorite trail you like to ride on? I am more of a hiker than a bike rider, out here in Missouri we have the Katy Trail and it is always loaded with bike riders.

@KarlaR I would still recommend the the Yakima, only because our singular bike racks are wheel mount and the 2024 Aventon A-Level 2 step through Commuter E-bike's fenders would be in the way. Maybe one day in the future you will need the second tray.

@KarlaR Hello Karla, That would depend on how comfortable you feel with putting it together. I could not find a step by step video on our site, but I did find a great instruction video made by Yakima on Youtube. They make it look pretty simple, I have full faith that you would be able to put this rack together. Let me know what you think.
