Features to know about

Built For Every Bike You Own

Epos Clamps to the frame Epos Clamps to the tire

Not every ride is the same. One day it is a 65-lb e-bike with full fenders, the next it is a kid's short-wheelbase bike or a high-end carbon road bike. Long wheel trays give you room to place each bike, while telescoping arms adapt to the design. You can secure your bikes by the frame or, to avoid paint scratches, rotate the telescoping arm and grab your carbon bikes by the wheel. The trays and straps let you set bikes where they make sense, preventing pedals and handlebars from clashing. Loading stops feeling like a puzzle and becomes quick, with every bike held in a solid fit.

Stay Visible, Stay Legal

Epos Tail lights keep you visible and legal

When a rack and three bikes block your tail lights, it creates both safety risks and legal headaches. This rack solves that with integrated LED lights and a license plate holder wired to your vehicle's 4-way connector. You get running lights, brake lights, and turn signals that keep you seen on the road.

Access Gear Without Unloading

Epos tilts so you can reach your gear in the back of your vehicle.

Other racks hide the tilt release near the hitch, forcing you to reach under the bikes or get a second set of hands. This one has a large foot pedal by the license plate mount, so you can tilt the rack away on your own. The tilt is deep enough to clear the hatch, even with heavy bikes loaded, so you can grab your bag or switch out shoes without taking bikes off first.

Built to Ride Quiet and Secure

Epos has an anti-rattle system built in.

No one wants to hear rattles or wonder if their bikes are shifting at highway speed. The anti-rattle system locks the rack tight in your hitch so it rides quiet and stable. Integrated locks secure the rack to your hitch and your bikes to your rack, so you don't need to carry a separate cable lock.

Rolls Wherever You Need It

Epos rolls wherever you need it with integrated wheels.

Most 3-bike racks are heavy and awkward to move. This one has wheels and a built-in handle so you don't have to carry it. Roll it to the hitch, line it up, and wheel it back to storage when you're done using it for the day. It's a big advantage for riders who would normally struggle with the weight of a rack this size.

  • Can Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack Be Used With 1-1/4" to 2" Adapter On 2018 Subaru Crosstrek?
Good question, Brian - and I’m glad you asked before trying it. Thule’s official instructions specify that the Epos 3 bike rack # TH34FR44SR must be mounted to a Class III + 2 inch receiver with at least 1.5 inches from the hitch pin hole to the receiver face. The smaller 1-1/4 inch hitches fall outside that spec and can’t safely handle the weight of this rack. While a 1-1/4-to-2 inch adapter will technically fit, it cuts your hitch’s tongue-weight rating in half, which usually leaves...

  • Does The Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack With Lights Fold Up Like The EasyFold XT ?
Pretty much, Steve. The Epos bike rack from Thule # TH34FR44SR folds inward from both sides just like the EasyFold XT # TH903202, so the trays close together into a compact “suitcase-style” shape. The difference is that the Epos isn’t meant to be driven in that folded position. Thule designed it to stay in the flat, road-ready position when mounted on your vehicle so the built-in LED lights and license plate bracket remain visible and legal while driving. For storage though, it folds up...

  • Can Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack TH34FR44SR Be Used On Motorhome Hitch Or When Flat Towing?
Hey Mark - I checked directly with Thule on that one. The Epos 3 bike rack for 2" hitches # TH34FR44SR isn’t approved for RV or flat-towed applications; it’s for standard passenger vehicles only. That’s due to the extra bounce at the back of a motorhome frame. For a similar setup rated for RV and/or flat towing use, look at the Saris MHS DUO 3 bike rack # SAR35MR - it handles 100 lbs on the inner two trays, with max capacity of 195 lbs for all bikes combined. What type of motorhome do...

  • 2" Hitch Bike Rack To Carry 2 Lectric Xpedition Cargo Ebikes And Small Mountain Bike
It sure is, Nick. Each position on the # TH34FR44SR supports up to 75 lbs, with a 160-lb total if that makes sense. Your two Lectrics that are about 65 lbs each and a kid’s bike will fit that perfectly. Just spread the heavier ones closest to the vehicle for best balance. The pivoting frame arms can grab the cargo frames securely without touching fenders or baskets. If you ever add fat-tire e-bikes, grab the XXL strap kit # TH985101 which allows up to 5 inch tires. What’s your wheelbase...

  • Is It Legal To Block Taillights And License Plate With Big 3 Bike Rack Carrier On Back Of Car?
Great question, Denise; to answer your question, bike racks tend to block the vehicle's license plate and/or taillights sometimes. That’s exactly why Thule added the LED tail lights and license-plate mount to the # TH34FR44SR version. The lights sit below the trays, shining through even with three bikes onboard, keeping you visible and legal. Just plug into your 4-way flat and you’re road-ready. If you don't have a 4 way flat or 2" hitch receiver, let me know what vehicle you have and I'll...

  • 3 Bike Rack With Street Legal Light Kit For 2023 Subaru Outback With OEM 2" Hitch And 4 Way Plug
Nice setup Hannah! You are all good to go. The Epos 3 bike rack # TH34FR44SR comes pre-wired with a 4-way flat connector that powers the built-in LED running, brake, and turn lights. Since your Outback already has that plug and a 2" receiver, it’ll connect directly with no adapter and fit your hitch just fine. Just be sure the connection stays clean and secure, so the lights stay bright on the road. It's easy for moisture and debris to get into those electrical connections on vehicles,...

  • How Does The Tail Light Feature Work On Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack TH34FR44SR ?
No switch needed, Lori - the LEDs on the Epos 3 bike rack for 2" hitches # TH34FR44SR come on automatically through your 4-way trailer connector. Once it’s plugged in, you’ll have running lights, brake lights, and turn signals that sync with your vehicle’s. It even has a plate bracket illuminated by the same circuit. If you notice flickering, that usually means a loose or corroded plug - easy fix with some dielectric grease usually. Do you already have a 4-way or need help adding one?...

  • How To Store Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack When Not On Vehicle
Yes indeed, Paul. Fold the Epos 3 bike rack # TH34FR44SR into its compact “suitcase” position and keep it indoors when possible. If you want to keep dust and moisture off the built-in wiring, the Thule storage bag # TH56XE is made for that - padded on all sides and cut out for the wheels so you can still roll it into tight spaces. Do you have the street legal lighted version like this one? The bag’s padding really helps protect those lenses through winter.

  • Is Thule Epos 3 A Good Upgrade From The EasyFold XT 2 Bike Rack?
Absolutely, Rachel. The Epos 3 bike rack w/lights # TH34FR44SR is essentially Thule’s evolution of the EasyFold XT # TH903202 - same easy load height but now supports 3 bikes, 75 lbs each (max total weight limit of 160lbs), and has integrated LED tail lights for full visibility. The frame/wheel clamp design also avoids touching paint, which your EasyFold couldn’t always do with fenders since that model is just frame mount. You’ll notice the tilt lever and rolling wheels are smoother too....

  • Will Thule Epos 3 Bike Rack TH34FR44SR Hit The Ground When Pulling Out Of Driveway?
Good thinking, Trent. On our test fit to a 2023 Nissan Rogue, the Epos # TH34FR44SR sat about 17" from the ground to the bottom of the bike wheel tray, with about 14-3/4" from the ground to the lowest point of the rack. That’s taller than many SUV/CUV hitches, so normal driveways and speed bumps aren’t an issue - just take steep ones slow. What kind of vehicle are you mounting it on? I can help double-check your receiver height. If you have a vehicle similar to the Nissan Rogue or a Toyota...

  • 3 eBike Rack For 2021 Toyota Highlander Hitch That Has Lights and License Plate Mount To Be Legal
Yes it can, Kyle. The Epos 3 bike rack with lights # TH34FR44SR has one of the deepest tilts of any platform rack - designed so you can swing the hatch fully open even with all 3 bikes onboard 160 lb total, 75 lb max per bike when 1 or 2 are on the rack. The large foot pedal near the license-plate bracket makes it easy to release with your hands full. I've attached a video where my coworker Evangeline demonstrates all of the awesome features of this rack! You’ll love how it clears that...
