Built-In Rain Shield

MaxxFan Deluxe Rain Shield

The MaxxFan Deluxe has a built-in rain shield that, along with the dome, surrounds and encloses the vent opening. The shield blocks rainwater and other precipitation from entering through the vent and damaging the interior of your RV or trailer. This means you can run the fan during any weather without having to worry about the consequences. With the rain shield, there is also no need to install a separate vent cover.

The white dome on the rain shield is constructed of durable high-density polypropylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance.

Reversible, Variable-Speed Fan with Thermostat

MaxxFan Deluxe Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan has 2 modes of operation: manual and auto. When the fan is in manual mode, you can choose from 10 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed. Auto mode works in conjunction with the fan's thermostat.

To enter auto mode, press the auto mode button on either the remote control or keypad. Once the fan is in auto mode, the thermostat is activated with a set temperature of 78 degrees F. Pressing the arrow keys on either the remote or keypad changes the set temperature in 1 degree increments. When the thermostat is set, it senses the room temperature and automatically turns the fan on if it is above the set temperature. The fan shuts off when the set temperature has been reached. If the room temperature rises, the fan turns on again. This keeps your RV cool and comfortable and saves you from having to adjust the fan by hand. The auto mode also saves energy by running the fan no more than necessary, especially while you're away or asleep.

This fan is reversible, which means you are able to both exhaust stale air out of your RV and bring fresh air in from the outside. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Remote Control and Keypad

Remote for MaxxFan Plus

The remote control has a built-in LCD screen so that it's easy to see the current settings. The remote enables you to operate the vent and fan from afar, including opening or closing the dome and turning the fan on or off. With the remote, you can also control the fan speed, the direction of the airflow, and the set temperature for the thermostat.

The remote comes with a cradle, which mounts to the wall. When it's not in use, the remote can be stored in the cradle. Hardware and 2 AAA batteries are included. The low-battery indicator located on the top-center area of the screen lets you know when it's time to change the batteries.

Keypad for MaxxFan Deluxe

Like the remote control, the flush-mounted keypad on the vent allows you to operate the vent, the fan, and the thermostat.

Powered-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Deluxe Open

This powered-lift vent opens and closes automatically, which means no hand cranking is needed. And unlike a vent that has only 1 arm, this dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will stay open during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome if your RV loses power.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Deluxe Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Deluxe vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The included mounting flange is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, first secure the mounting flange to the roof. Then connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Next insert the vent into the flange and fasten it down using the metal mounting points on the flange. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

Great product, I followed the instructions posted on the etrailer website and everything went perfectly. I didn’t even have to trim the inside cowling. I’ve included some pics with this review. Took all of 1 1/2 hrs from start to finish. This replaced a paddle fan in a destination trailer and it had already been framed for a 14” square hole.

by:

Awesome fan! Easy install and super quiet. Live that it can be used as a “ceiling fan”

by:

Easy install, cleaning up the old caulking and such was the hardest part

by:

Easy to remove the old fan and install the new Maxxfan Deluxe with remote. Thankfully the temps on install day was 85 degrees. Total time, 45 minutes. Totally forgot to take pics.

by:

Absolutely love this vent, very easy to install and the lowest 3 settings, you cant hear the vent. Exactly what my vintage trailer needed

by:

Works like a [goshdarn] charm!!!!!!!!

by:

Perfect for our kitchen replacement fan.

by:

I really love this MaxxFan Deluxe. It runs really nice and really helps regulation the temperature in my Tradrop trailer. Only minor problem is that the tip of the rotor shaft sometimes rubs against the screen, squeeking a bit. Would be nice to have to have a means of holding the screen down so that it does not rub. I have not needed to use the remote so could go with the next lower model without the remote. But overall this is a great fan!

by:

We installed 4 of these MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/12 V fan, thermostat and remote powered lift 10 speed in our 27 foot Class C RV. These fans proved exactly as we wanted. They are extremely quiet, the thermostat works exactly as you set the temp, and the remotes are easy to use. We couldn’t be happier with the quality and performance of these MaxxFans. They kept us cool all summer long in all types of weather.

by:

What a terrific upgrade this was to the original fan. The videos on the etrailer product page made this an easy job. The fan is amazingly quiet yet it moves a massive amount of air.

by:

Fit perfectly into existing vent. Ran wiring up behind refrigerator. Can be set to run either on thermostat or manually. Really nice rain good. Now I can keep my camper vented by moving the hot air out in between trips and blow cool air in at night to sleep without all the noise from the air conditioner fan. Very pleased.

by:

Replaced a lesser model MaxxAir with this one. Installation was not too bad. A few minor comments for 'improvement'. The cable connectors could be one size larger to accommodate the existing wiring. The instructions didn't really say how 'difficult' it is to get the fan on the flange (makes sense to seal the gasket, just concerned about 'pushing down' too hard). Other than that, very satisfied. Will see how it performs in the rain later this week.

by:

Why these fans are not standard equipment is a great question. Hardest part of install was removing the self Leveling sealant to remove the old 4" junk fan.

What can I say, the Maxair should be standard on all 5th wheels. Installation was easy and straight forward, quiet and moves a lot of air.

@Edwin Glad to hear you're liking it! Do you leave it lifted up most of the time since it has a rain cover? Or do you only lift it up during certain days?

@JonG I leave it up often if the weather is nice, without worry due to design. Usually when it is hot and AC is running we only use the fan for when we use the bathroom and for a short period later to clear out shower steam. On cool evenings, open the bedroom and run a fan for that cross breeze.. 2022, Keystone Cougar 24RDS (downsized from 40' Montana 3721RL) Edwin

This is the second RV we've added this fan to. We love the variable speed, option to blow in or out (out for showering, in at nighttime for cool air), remote control (more necessary in first RV where we the ceilings were too high to reach the buttons on the fan itself), and the hood that allows us to run it even when raining.
Note: the current RV came with a MaxxFan installed which was good, but we still replaced it with this one for the higher performance and hood.

Definitely still recommend and like the 7000. I will likely install it in all our future trailers as well. If I were to complain about anything, it would be the battery life for the remote. It would be nice if they had a wired control option.

by:

We just received and installed these Maxxair Deluxe fans and absolutely love them. We installed these ourselves and couldn’t be happier. Our reason for ordering these fans was simply so we could have the remote and ceiling fan option. Our previous fans did not have a switch, we are too short to reach them and a step stool is a pain. The install went well and was more time consuming than anything. Otherwise not a challenge at all. The reason for the 4-star vs the 5-star is nothing on etrailer’s part but on the fan itself. We went with white vs smoke in hopes to let more light into the coach but they in fact let in less light than if we were to go with smoke. And also the white fans cast a pinky-orangey hue which isn’t necessarily a deal breaker but would’ve been nice to know ahead of time because we would’ve ordered smoke. Other than that the fans are phenomenal. etrailer, as always, is on top of the game and got these out to us fast and customer service rocks as always!!

by:

Excellent fan. Correction to the etrailer description. The lid can be opened and left open without the fan running, either with the remote control, a wired wall control or by the manual knob on the fan. It can be partially to fully opened by using the manual knob. The optional wired wall control works great for those who can't reach the ceiling control panel on the fan. I have 4 of the 07000K fans in 2 campers, all with wireless remotes and wired wall mount control panels.

2. Star review
I had this fan installed
during a re-roofing on my 5th wheel in April 2019. I am happy with the performance and the remote makes it very easy to operate. The unit sat for 19 months during COVID lockdown and border closure. I now notice that 3 of the 4 motor support arms are cracked. A replacement vent frame, part # 10-21217K would fix my problem. Unfortunately this part is no longer, or never was, available. According to the manufacturer, Airxcel, my only option is to replace the whole unit. Without knowing why this one cracked, I am reluctant to invest in another one. I can't believe I am the only one that has experienced this and there has to be a reason why the replacement part is not available. Buyer beware, if yours cracks there is no repair option. That's why I give this product 2 stars.

Great fan. Love the 10 speeds and the ability to set a temperature for the fan to work to.

Still working great! No issues at all 1010 would buy again

by:

This Exceeded our expectations; we didn't know that this would have such an impact on how much air was moved by this vent fan. I was in, then out of the "Doghouse" for the cost of this (the wife did her own research after I had) and then the wait; the unit this replaced was leaking water as it rained outside. Within a week of ordering this it was delivered, and the following day I got it installed. Installation directions were very simple to understand/follow; the hard part was removing the old vent fan and caulk. Another "Bonus" was how quite this is compared to the original.

After a year of using this fan, we are just as pleased with it as we were when we got it. Im not able to say anything about the Rain Sensor, even though we are located in SW Washington, because we dont leave the vent open 247. The remote was the perfect solution for my wifes height challenge 48 to be able to use this, mounted the holder just inside the door on the wall.

Great fan for our travel trailer. Had it installed in the bedroom where we previously had just a vent. Love the feature where you can pull air into the trailer, or reverse the direction and have the air pulled out. The included remote makes it easy to operate.

It is great. Our trailer has a single air conditioner located in the main portion of the trailer. So on hot days we have the AC on, then we set the MaxxFan to pull air out of the trailer, so this helps to circulate the air from the AC.

by:

This was scary to install, but we followed the instructions carefully, and it works great! It is quiet and moves air in or out of our Transit Connect van very well. I'm very pleased we bought this unit.

We marked and taped off the opening on the van roof, drilled the corners, then used a jigsaw with a metal blade to cut it out. We taped a garbage back underneath to catch metal shavings.

The butyl sealant made a water-tight fit, and self-leveling caulk provided the final weatherproof seal. We added plywood on the inside of the roof to provide support, which was a good idea. Overall we love the fan!

One year later literally two weeks after the warranty expired we discovered that the vent was leaking. The cause was that the lid was cracked, from where the closing assembly pulled it shut. Apparently this is a very common problem with this fan, I see a lot of people complaining online of the same thing. I bought a replacement lid over $100 and installed it. The fan now has loud wind noise while driving, and rattles when going over bumps, because the fasteners that hold it in place are bent and loose. Considering the purchase price of the fan, I am wholly unimpressed with its longevity.

by:

Lifting Mechanism went out after about 5 years of daily use. Went ahead and ordered a full unit replacement and thanks to the design all I had to do was pop out the old unit and install the new one without having to reinstall the housing. Solid long lasting product with practical design is exactly what keeps me coming back as a customer.

by:

This fan has all the bells and whistles. Upgraded from a crank vent over the stove. The ventilation is extremely quiet, remote works well, (have to be a little particular about line of sight) thermostat is nice at night to shut down when cooler. Rain shielded. One of our best upgrades.

Its working great. So quiet and efficient. If I had another camper needing a fan, this would be it

by:

I had read great things about these fans and they stand up to all the hype. Our TT has two vents. One in the bathroom and one in the living/kitchen/dining area. The bathroom has a stock fan that really doesn't do too much. The other vent had no fan. We put the Maxx fan in that spot. Installation is pretty straightforward as long as you have general mechanical skills. Once installed, the fan exceeded our expectations. It pulls a ton of air through the trailer. The temperature control is a great feature. Most of all, the newer style does not allow rain in if you forget and leave it on.

The combination of a 10-speed fan, reversible airflow, white lid, manual lift, and the updated higher-voltage control board simply isn't available. Once you move to the 10-speed MaxxFan models, they all use a powered lift. The closest match is the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K. It gives you the 10-speed...

  • Is There An Upgrade For a Ventline E-Z Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent?
I have some bad news for you Alex. The reason you are having trouble finding an upgrade for your Ventline E-Z Lift Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V3092-601-00 is because none exist. This is because the fan and all the bracing are mounted to the top section of the vent since the lower section is only a garnish to cover the hole in the roof. The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K is my favorite replacement option as it is all electric and is easily controlled from the wireless remote....

Ceiling fan mode will circulate air when the vent is closed. The design of this vent will allow...

  • MaxxAir Roof Vents for RVs with Thermostats with Manual Lift and Powered Lift
You are correct and all of the settings of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07000K that you mentioned are correct. The powered lift can be turned off to allow you to manually lift the lid, this is thermostatically controlled, and due to the lid design it could be open and vent while raining. This is due to the vents being underneath the lid. I attached a picture that shows what the display looks like for the temperature setting. The smoked color actually...

  • Recommended MaxxAir MaxxFan RV Vent For A Casita Travel Trailer
Manufacturers don't list the part numbers for pretty much anything on their trailer's so we would need some more information on the vent that you have to determine which model you actually have. If you're just looking for a regular vent then I recommend the MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - LED Light - Black # MA00-03851 or # MA00-03801 for white. This vent has a rain shield that will allow you to use it in any weather and also while traveling. If you're wanting the...
