Can I Use Hengs 90046-CR Upgrade Kit MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent?

Question:

I have the Ventadome EZ-Lift vents on my Salem FSX 161QK and I purchased the Hengs 90046-CR upgrade kit without understanding that it would not be compatible with the Ventadome EZ-Lift vents. Ive had the fans past the return date so Im looking to make use of them. Is there a vent I can install that will fit these? I really like the MaxxFan Deluxe that was recommended in a similar thread https://www.etrailer.com/question-743606.html with its power and remote features, but Im unable to find a variant that doesnt come with the fan or if the Hengs 90046-CR would be compatible. Do you have any suggestions on a similar all-weather fan vent with power and remote that would accept these fans I purchased? If not thanks anyway - your site is great.

Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K is a great choice a vent upgrade and it can definitely work on your Salem FSX 161QK, but unfortunately, there is not a version of the MaxxFan Deluxe, or another powered remote style fan that we offer, that will accept the Hengs 90046-CR upgrade kit. That kit just is not compatible with the Ventadome EZ-Lift style vents or with the MaxxFan assemblies.

If you are looking for a quiet, rain-safe fan with a remote, the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07000K is still a really solid all-in-one option. It replaces the entire vent assembly, includes the built-in rain cover, and gives you the power and remote features you are after without needing additional upgrade parts.

Micahel, We put the Maxfan in our 2022 Cougar and love it, the air it moves is increadable and best of all, it is very quiet on low to med speeds. Installation was simple once you get past the initial self leveling sealant removal.

I’ve used the MaxxAir Delux in three RVs I’ve owned and have found them to be quiet, rainproof and the automatic variable speed is a real plus factor. The install is pretty simple and easy. Unlike the older models with a fixed cover over the fan assembly I do not think I would use theMaxxair Delux in the open position while driving - I think it may strain the movable cover assembly.

Michael R I replaced the stock manual vent bang with the MaxxFan Roof Deluxe Roof Vent. Easier than I expected. I did wait until it was warmer in VA to complete the install. I have a vinyl roof which makes removing the sealant much easier. All hardware matched perfectly. Total removal, cleanup original sealant and replacement install took less than 1 hour. Make sure you follow all installation instructions! Matt

I have the had the Maxx fan installed on my trailer for two years. I replaced the original fan supplied with the trailer. I like the quiet fan compared to original, the ability to set different speeds, and the rainproof hood that folds away when fan is shut off. The remote control spoils me in a good way. The only thing I have done is regulary clean the screen. It is worth the trouble of replacing entire fan and removing old sealant.

Michael, I replaced the vent in the bathroom that had the tiny fan and a manual lift. It was quite inefficient. The Maxxair fan has the auto lift and creates a good draft I also replaced the non mechanical vent in the rear bunk house. I did this to create cross flow and it is working quite well. I highly recommend this fan and Etrailer is a valuable source for Rv supplies and support.
