Can I Drill Countersink Holes in the Mounting Bracket for the MaxxFan Deluxe MA00-07000K?
Updated 09/27/2024 | Published 09/26/2024 >
Question:
Greetings. Regarding the Maxxair Deluxe vent fan, is it safe to make countersink holes into the existing screw holes on the vent flange? I am interested in using EternaBond tape to seal the vent flange and won’t do so if I have to cover screw heads extending atop the flange. Thank you, Mark Sponhauer

Hey Mark! That's probably not a good idea. I can't advise you on how to make alternations to your MaxxFan Deluxe item # MA00-07000K that go against the manufacturer's instructions. You could weaken or damage the mounting bracket causing it to fail while you're on the road.

Jerred, Thank you. I was thinking the same way, but wanted to make sure. If you have any way to send MaxxAir suggestions, it sure would be nice if they could come up with a clamping system from underneath the fan so to avoid all those screw holes. I have a Lance travel trailer which does not have wood box frames for the fan holes, which adds complications. Mark
