Video Transcript for Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing Spec Review

Today, were going to review part number L44643. This is a TruRyde Trailer Wheel Bearing for an inner or outer bearing use. These replacement bearing are high quality, tapered roller bearings designed for high-speed use.All bearings will have an industry standard number stamped on them regardless of the brand. To get the correct wheel bearing for you spindle. If you would look on the inner ring of the bearing, the number would be stamped. In this case, its stamped L44643.

If youd get the number off your bearing and give it to use, we can cross-reference and get you the correct size bearing. If you cant have access to or there is no part number on the bearing. You will need to measure the inside diameter of the bearing, that is the most critical measurement. You would need to use something like a digital caliper because it is measured in thousandths of an inch. A ruler or a tape measure wont work.

In this case, if we measure the inner diameter of this bearing, it would be 1 inch. These bearings are lubricated by wheel bearing grease or in some cases, it would be oil. The wheel bearing would consist of three components. The cone, or the inner ring, that the bearings would roll on the tapered bearings themselves, right here and then the cage or the roller retainer that the roller bearings are attached to. There is one other piece that is required and that is the bearing race that the bearing would sit into and rotate in. For this part, number you would need to use bearing race part number L44610 and that is sold separately.

The important measurement on the bearing race is the outer diameter, which for that part number would be 1.980. That should do it for review on part number L44643. .

  • Upgrading Tire Size on a Harbor Freight Trailer
I do have a solution for you, but we do not recommend using vehicle tires on a trailer. Trailer tires are built with stronger sidewalls to help resist the load that is put on them, while vehicle tires are made for a more smooth ride. Also, we do not carry spacers that are intended to make your tire and wheel stick out so that it can clear your trailer frame. To find out if you can upgrade your tires and wheels with your current setup, you can take the outer diameter and section width of...

  • Replacement Bearings and Seal for Trailer with LM29749 and L44610 Bearings
We carry the a grease seal that matches what you have. For that you would want the # BB60002. For the bearings we have the part # 29749 and the race part # 29710. For the other bearing we do not have an exact number match, but based on the race # L44610 that you have the bearing you need is either the # L44643 or # L44649. If the inner diameter of the bearing you have is 1.00 inches measured with a digital or dial caliper you would need part # L44643, if instead it is 1.06 you would...

  • Replacement Wheels And Hubs For A Triton LTWCI Personal Watercraft Trailer
Hi Chris! I would be shocked if the wheels have a 5 on 5 bolt pattern. I don't think I have ever seen a 12" wheel with that bolt pattern. They will typically have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and I would encourage you to have him look at the picture I am including to double check. If it's a 5 on 4-1/2, as I am pretty sure it is, the Loadstar 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM30670 would make a good replacement. It can support up to 990-lb...

If you can get me more info on your trailer like axle capacity and wheel bolt pattern I can help you pick out the components you are looking for.

We do have the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for Standard # 8-271-7UC3 or EZ Lube # 8-271-7UC3-EZ axles. These are the 8-271 hubs you have with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. That is a very unique trailer you have, Gordon. Maybe a little too unique. We have spindles that you could use as replacements (1-3/8" Diameter Stub # TRU59FR, 1-1/4" Diameter Stub # TRU94FR, or 1-1/2" Wide (square) Stub # TRU97FR) that all have a 1" shaft for the bearings (which would be part # L44643). Other sizes are more prevalent, such as the 5 on 4-1/2 you mentioned, but there are options for you. The most popular of these we offer is the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20538DX. Hi Jerome; the 1-5/16" measurement for the # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K wheel studs is from the flange to the end of the stud with it assembled. They're actually 2" long overall. You have a BTR spindle since you have # L44649 inner and outer bearings. If you had # L44643 bearings it would be a BT8 spindle. If you would rather have the same Dexter hub for a replacement the # 8-259-5UC1-EZ is also available.

Hey Michael. I can definitely point you in the right direction. Thanks for your question, Becky! After some searching around, it looks like Malone show that there are two possible sizes.
