EOH Actuator and Brake Lines For Nucamp Tag XL Boondock Adding Disc Brakes

Thinking about disc brakes for a Nucamp Tag XL Boondock with 2k axle and 15 inch wheels. What do you recommend for an actuator pump and lines with the Kodiak 8 inch disc assembly? I am using a Curt Echo brake controller.

Hey Scott! I recommend using the Hydrastar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HS381-8067. Hydrastar is a reliable, proven brand so it will serve you well. Then for brake lines you can use the Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 15' Long, 1/8" Main Line # HS496-151.
If you haven't already, make sure your 2k axles have a BTR spindle using # L44649 bearings to match the Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD27FR. If you have a true 1" spindle with # L44643 bearings you will need to trade those out. They fit the same race, so both bearings can be used in this disc brake kit. Also, the Curt Echo is EOH compatible so you're all set there.

Installing the caliper requires some fabrication as the Kodiak 2K piston housing on the caliper does not clear the mounting plate on the torsion axle.I had to loosely install the caliper with out the inner pad and scribe an arc matching the shape. Then I cleared the material to the mark so the caliper would mount properly. All good now, just took longer than I hoped it would.

Love the hydrostar. Easy install Wiring pretty straightforward. Even looks cool. Aluminum construction. The older pump was not and was a rusty mess. May need a piece of aluminum angle to retro fit to your trailer. Maybe find an aluminum fabricator they probably have a piece laying around for cheap.
