Question:

Am looking for boat trailer roller bearings and seals. 1 OD straight shaft, 1.70 OD cup/race diameter. Timken PN: 07100 Seal: CR12399 Seal area on shaft is 1.250. Seal OD is ~1.70 Looking for 2 sets for the axle. Please inform me is you have these available. These seem to be a strange size on a very old boat trailer. Thanks.

We likely have the bearing but I want to verify the race and seal dimensions before I tell you exactly what to order.

Your Timken 07100 bearing has a 1" inside diameter, which points us toward common 1" trailer bearings. However, you also measured the cup/race outside diameter at about 1.70", and that measurement is important because the replacement bearing and race need to match as a set.

The same goes for the seal. You gave me a 1.250" seal surface on the spindle and an approximate 1.70" seal outside diameter, which is an unusual combination compared with the seals we commonly carry.

Could you give me the exact measurements for:

Race outside diameter
Seal bore inside diameter in the hub
If possible, the part number stamped on the race

With those measurements, I can compare them directly to the bearing and seal combinations we carry and let you know whether we can put together the two complete sets you need.

Thank you James D. I learned that I was given incorrect information on the sizes. I re=measured myself and learned the true sizes which are a standard size. problem solved.

Don't replace the bearings without also replacing the race. The races are easy to knock out with the right round punch. Look for a grove in the hub to place the punch. If you don't have a bearing grease packed, it's well worth the investment. The packed insures the entire bearing has grease in all the roller pins
