Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • Recommended Parts To Add Hydraulic Trailer Brakes To 2014 Shorelander Trailer For 20 Pontoon
Thank you for the pictures! We do offer a trailer brake option that will work with the 10" wheels on your 2014 Shorelander Trailer. Since the trailer will be in water you will want to use the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399 which includes both left and right assemblies and is for hydraulic brakes and will bolt the 4 bolt brake flange found on your axles that I was able to see in your picture. Since you have 5 lug wheels you will likely need Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly...

  • What Hubs do I Need for My 1998 Calkins Boat Trailer?
If both of your inner and outer bearings are # L44649, you most likely have a 2K axle. Depending on your bolt pattern, I recommend the following hubs: - Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K (5 on 4-1/2 pattern) - Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 # 8-91-05UC1 (4 on 4 pattern) If you need the hub/drum combination, I recommend the following: - Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles - 7" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # AKHD-545-2-2K (5...

  • Are there Brakes for a 8" Wheel?
Sorry I do not know of anyone who makes brakes small enough to use on a 8" wheel. The smallest ones we carry are the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles - 7" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 - L44649 - Pre-Greased item # AKHD-545-2-2K. They measure 7-5/8" diameter x 2-7/16" wide and work with wheels as small as 10". I would say the lack of brakes for trailer's and wheels that small has to do with them not being legally required in the majority of the country.

  • Replacement Brakes, Hub and Drum Assembly with L44649 Inner and Outer Bearings on 2000lbs Axle
I have a solution for you, but the # AKUBRK-35-D are 10" brakes and will be too large for the hub/drum assemblies that fit on your axle. Instead you'll want to use the Dexter # 23-398-399 which are a 7" brake assembly that can be used with wheels between 10" and 13" diameter. It sounds like you also need new hubs, so you can use the etrailer Axle Tech # AKHD-545-2-2K which are a 2000-lb capacity and have # L44649 inner and outer bearings to match your specifications. Thanks for that great information we have exactly what you need for your 2,000 lb axles. The number you gave of 1.063 inches in diameter where your bearings ride on the spindle corresponds to Bearing # L44649. Knowing that, we can get you the correct hub and drum, which is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-2K. These hub and drums work with 7" brake assemblies and for hydraulic brakes the correct assembly is the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399. These...
