The staff at eTrailer.com are very helpful and knowledgeable - ask if you're unsure. I originally ordered through the Internet and received the wrong products - because I neglected to ask questions. The return went smooth, but I had to pay for it (my error). The next round arrived well packaged (externally), but there was thin packing tape all over the outside of the hubs and some on the inside rubbing surface of the hubs. It took some doing to get it all off. There was a little rust on the non-contact surfaces of the hub as well as on the brake housing. On the brake housing, you can see some rust in the pic. Looks like it may have been rebuilt. This doesn't seem to have any effect on its operation though. Seals, Races & Bearings are super clean and fit perfectly. I installed these brakes onto the existing '4.5 on 5' flange on a 2000 pound axle (on a 2004 Aliner LX Classic Pop-up trailer). It came with the bolts to attach to the flange, but be sure to order the adjuster grommets, lock washers and 7/16x20 fine thread nuts, since it doesn't come with them. Once I got the wiring set up properly, it works exactly as it should. I prewired the setup prior to delivery. My error was that I assumed the only wire I'd need to run was the blue (brake) wire, but there are two wires on the brake housing as you can see in the picture. Either one goes to the blue (doesn't matter which) and the other attaches to the neutral (white) wire that goes back through the trailer's main wiring harness. Simply attaching the wire to the trailer frame (ground) like I initially did as seen in the picture looked like a good clean setup and easy solution to my one-wire mistake. Unfortunately, it DID NOT WORK. The secondary (neutral) wire must be detected by the tow vehicle's brake controller. Plan ahead and buy the blue and white primary wires (20 feet of 14 or 16 gauge will work) and run them next to each other before hand. Be sure to house the wires in 'plastic split loom tubing' so they don't rub against anything and zip tie them to the frame, so they're not hanging or in the way of anything. Happy braking. :-)

After grinding off old surge brakes, these went under my snowmobile trailer with a perfect fit. I mounted an electrical junction box 10ft back from the tongue, and that made wiring them much easier also. Last season, on a snowy trip back from up north, I was able to straighten out my sliding trailer with just a quick reach for the brake controller. I would highly recommend this product.

This brake assembly replaced my original electric brake on 2004 Fleetwood/Coleman Sedona. You need to order four nuts for the brake mounting bolts on each assembly. etrailer's service/delivery was extremely fast with the free shipping on orders over $150. I also bought the LH assembly and matching hubs for the dexter ez axle. I would definitely buy from etrailer again.

These brakes are well built, but unfortunately I had to return them before trying them out. There was a large gap between the brake and the drum. The etrailer tech suggested using washers/spacers to move the brake further into the drum, but the mounting bolts on the brake were not long enough to accommodate this situation. I had to find an alternative brake with a longer mounting bolt. Otherwise, seems like a good product.

Brakes worked great and ready to assembly. A faint odor for couple of hundred miles breaking in. Always worked well and stopped confidently even on the steepest of descents. 20% down grade going into Lake Tahoe for example. Highly recommend.

Ordered my parts on Tuesday... showed up on Thursday! Awesome delivery time. Read the reviews for the 7" brakes I needed to replace on my popup camper, and several folks said to make sure to order the bolts, nuts and washers - since the etrailer replacements didn't come with them. The 7" brakes DO infact come with the pressed-in bolt studs already in place, the only thing extra you'll need to get would be the nuts and lock washers if you don't already have them. Installation is as simple as bolting them on and crimp connecting two wires. I'll make final adjustments to the brake controller once everything is back in place.
