The staff at are very helpful and knowledgeable - ask if you're unsure. I originally ordered through the Internet and received the wrong products - because I neglected to ask questions. The return went smooth, but I had to pay for it (my error). The next round arrived well packaged (externally), but there was thin packing tape all over the outside of the hubs and some on the inside rubbing surface of the hubs. It took some doing to get it all off. There was a little rust on the non-contact surfaces of the hub as well as on the brake housing. On the brake housing, you can see some rust in the pic. Looks like it may have been rebuilt. This doesn't seem to have any effect on its operation though. Seals, Races & Bearings are super clean and fit perfectly. I installed these brakes onto the existing '4.5 on 5' flange on a 2000 pound axle (on a 2004 Aliner LX Classic Pop-up trailer). It came with the bolts to attach to the flange, but be sure to order the adjuster grommets, lock washers and 7/16x20 fine thread nuts, since it doesn't come with them. Once I got the wiring set up properly, it works exactly as it should. I prewired the setup prior to delivery. My error was that I assumed the only wire I'd need to run was the blue (brake) wire, but there are two wires on the brake housing as you can see in the picture. Either one goes to the blue (doesn't matter which) and the other attaches to the neutral (white) wire that goes back through the trailer's main wiring harness. Simply attaching the wire to the trailer frame (ground) like I initially did as seen in the picture looked like a good clean setup and easy solution to my one-wire mistake. Unfortunately, it DID NOT WORK. The secondary (neutral) wire must be detected by the tow vehicle's brake controller. Plan ahead and buy the blue and white primary wires (20 feet of 14 or 16 gauge will work) and run them next to each other before hand. Be sure to house the wires in 'plastic split loom tubing' so they don't rub against anything and zip tie them to the frame, so they're not hanging or in the way of anything. Happy braking. :-)

Exactly the right parts at a good price with outstanding customer support 10 out of 10 would purchase again and exclusively from this retailer.

The items went onto my Aspen Classic trailer fairly easy. The only glitch was that I received axel caps that were too large. Once I notified the company, I received the correct caps rather quickly and finished up the install.

Excellant product, all put together and ready to bolt onto the backing plate. Wiring was plenty long enough, and a very simple and easy install.

The two LH brakes work fine. See my review of the RH brakes.

After grinding off old surge brakes, these went under my snowmobile trailer with a perfect fit. I mounted an electrical junction box 10ft back from the tongue, and that made wiring them much easier also. Last season, on a snowy trip back from up north, I was able to straighten out my sliding trailer with just a quick reach for the brake controller. I would highly recommend this product.

delivered on time product, of good quality very helpful c/s .Will shop here again

This brake assembly replaced my original electric brake on 2004 Fleetwood/Coleman Sedona. You need to order four nuts for the brake mounting bolts on each assembly. etrailer's service/delivery was extremely fast with the free shipping on orders over $150. I also bought the LH assembly and matching hubs for the dexter ez axle. I would definitely buy from etrailer again.

These brakes are well built, but unfortunately I had to return them before trying them out. There was a large gap between the brake and the drum. The etrailer tech suggested using washers/spacers to move the brake further into the drum, but the mounting bolts on the brake were not long enough to accommodate this situation. I had to find an alternative brake with a longer mounting bolt. Otherwise, seems like a good product.

Ordered my parts on Tuesday... showed up on Thursday! Awesome delivery time. Read the reviews for the 7" brakes I needed to replace on my popup camper, and several folks said to make sure to order the bolts, nuts and washers - since the etrailer replacements didn't come with them. The 7" brakes DO infact come with the pressed-in bolt studs already in place, the only thing extra you'll need to get would be the nuts and lock washers if you don't already have them. Installation is as simple as bolting them on and crimp connecting two wires. I'll make final adjustments to the brake controller once everything is back in place.

I purchached these brakes to convert from hydraulic surge brakes on my 1973 pop-up camper. It was a simple, bolt on conversion that took only a few hours to complete; including wiring. One week later, they performed flawlessly on the 400 mile trip to hunting camp. Thanks e-trailer for a great product and service.

Just what the doctor ordered. Items are easy to find on the website. Prices are decent. What makes etrailer stand out are their tutorials on the products as well as how to use them and excellent installation videos and tips. All this and a low price guarantee! You can't go wrong.

The part was exactly what I needed. Delivery was very quick, 2 work days. The price for the entire brake assembly was less than an auto parts store quoted Me for one piece of the assembly. Yes it was less expensive to buy the assembly, than to buy just the magnet. The sales clerk for the assembly was very helpful and sincere. The clerk told Me after I had placed the order that I would receive parts at the good price, delivered, with no extra freight charge. I was very pleased when I received the parts and they fit very well. I will be contacting them again. I have owned and operated my repair shop for over 40 years. It is so nice to talk with a most Pleasant order clerk and receive exactly what I needed. The clerk was patient and very helpful. Thanks for the Good Service !

easy to find the part i need , all info is their and easy to find , tracking isnt like pulling teeth to get .

The 23-47 brakes are an excellent replacement on my 1997 Coleman Fleetwood Bayports popup camper that I am close to finishing a restoration process on. They fit perfectly! Very happy to purchase an excellent product from the fastest shipper I have ever come across. I am blown away by the professionalism with this company!

Brakes worked great and ready to assembly. A faint odor for couple of hundred miles breaking in. Always worked well and stopped confidently even on the steepest of descents. 20% down grade going into Lake Tahoe for example. Highly recommend.

My break shoes were shot this year (fell on the ground when I pulled the drums off) for almost the same price as my local dealer wanted for just shoes I got the entire assembly with magnetic puck and shoes!!!!!!! Thanks so much Etrailer!!!!!!

Electric Brake kit for trailer this time.
The parts are very acceptable and the service is supreme.
Couldn't get any better service anywhere. I've bought a lot of items from etrailer for a couple years now. I have had great experiences with each and every order.

7 inch brake assembly and hubs arrived on time, and are already installed. Easy trouble-free. Quality product.

20 Floe snowmobile trailer, Dexter axles, the replacements fit perfectly.
Installed and running in one night after work.

Fast shipping and this was an exact replcement for what was instaled on my trailer. Remember to order the nuts for the 4 studs. The old one do braked off during removal.

Item as described. Super Fast Shipping!!! Even though we ordered the week of xmas. We will shop etrailer again because the downtime is very minimal. Thank You!

I ordered a set of trailer brakes for my camper and they arrived at my home in just four days. The order was filled correctly and promptly. Thank you very much. You know how to do business.

I had a mishap on my camper and burned up a set of brakes, and had another camping trip to get ready for. So I ordered a set of these. They showed up on time, were easy to install, and saved the day.

  • Is Dexter Trailer Brake Set part # 23-47-48 part Number 23-47 and 23-48
The Dexter Trailer Brake Set part # 23-47-48 is just the # 23-47 assembly and the # 23-48 assembly like you stated. Our pricing does fluctuate somewhat and it usually has to do with previous sales and current stock. If I were you I'd go with the part number that gives you the best deal!

  • Electric Brake install 2000 Coleman Sedona
In order to make recommendations for brake assemblies and hub/drums, I'll need some more information. I'm assuming your pop-up currently uses idler hubs. In order to recommend the proper brake assemblies and hub/drums, I'll need the reference numbers off of your inner and outer wheel bearings. To get the correct hubs with wheel bolt patterns that match your existing wheels, I'll need to know the lug bolt pattern of your existing hubs, which will likely be 4 on 4 or 5 on 4-1/2. Once I...

Are you certain of the bearing number? Is there a possibility it could be L44649, and not L44643? We don't offer a hub/drum that's compatible with the L44643, only idler hubs. The only alternative I can see would be to replace your existing axle for one that uses spindles compatible with the bearings that brake hub/drums use. We offer some 'off the shelf' axle options. If you'd care to reply with the hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center dimensions, I'd be happy to check...

  • Will 10 Inch Trailer Brakes Fit In Place of 7 Inch Brakes
Ten inch brakes will use a larger hub than 7 inch brakes. So you will not only have to change the brake assemblies but also the hubs and the wheels. If cost is not a factor then you can do all of this but it would be much easier to just replace the 7 inch brakes. If the brakes are not providing enough power there may be another issue to look at. Make sure the brakes are properly adjusted. To do this you will turn the adjustment wheel until you can hear a slight but constant drag of the...

  • Pros And Cons For Switching From Electric To Electric Over hydraulic Disc Brakes On Trailer
In order to switch from your electric brakes to a disc brake system there are several things you will want to consider. It is true that the disc brakes will provide better braking for you, although converting can require an involved installation. Electric trailer braking systems provide fast response times and good control over the action of your trailer brakes, but they don't stop as hard as hydraulic brakes. Since your tow vehicle is new and since the problem has followed the trailer to another tow vehicle it would seem that the issue is on the trailer side. Since you have already replaced the trailer's 7-way connector (joining it to the trailer wiring at your junction box) most likely the problem is either in the wiring between from the box and the brake assemblies or at the brake assembly itself. • Replacing Electric Brake Assemblies & Hub Seals on Haulmark Sport Lite 2-Axle Trailer
We generally recommend replacing brake assemblies on both ends of the same axle at the same time. If wired correctly both brakes on a given axle should tend to wear fairly evenly. Just because the initial electrical braking signal reaches one wheel on the axle before the other there should not be very different wear between the two. If the front/left brake was damaged due to a dead short, then all brakes will cease to function as they are all on a common circuit. The other three brakes...
