Brake Drum for a Reliable 2,700 Pound Trailer Axle

Question:

What brake drum would fit a reliable 2700# axle ? Part # 2700-064 , Want to use ten inch tires

If the spindles on your Reliable 2,700 pound axle are straight (same diameter in both bearing locations) then that indicates that it uses L44649 inner and outer bearings but if the spindles are tapered (inner bearing surface diameter is larger than the outer bearing surface diameter) then it will use L68111 for the inner bearing and L44649 for the outer.

If you pull a hub off and find that both bearings are L44649 you can use # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K if there are grease fittings at the ends of your spindles and the wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If the spindles do not have grease fittings but you have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern then you can use # AKHD-545-2-2K.

If you have the 4 on 4 bolt pattern with grease fittings use # 8-173-16UC3-EZ. And for the 4 on 4 without grease fittings use # 8-173-16UC3.

If the inner bearing is L68111 we won't have a hub for it. The key is to look at the bearing numbers stamped into the sides of the bearings. That will ensure that we can select the right parts for you.
