Average Customer Rating:  4.7 out of 5 stars   (23 Customer Reviews)

I recently ordered two self adjusting brakes and wire. Through error on my part I ordered the wrong butt connectors. That's okay when I place my next order I will order the correct ones. The brakes were easy to install thanks to all the videos e trailer provides. I will be placing more orders before my 1965 Serro Scotty is completed.

Helped me connect wires for the Redarc controller I bought from you

by:

The best online store to get your things fixed. Customer service is the best, 100% assurance you’ll get you package received and taken care of. I enjoyed my roof rack with his new clamps from etrailer.com
So quick to answer your concerns. I will always recommend this etrailer.com to my friends

by:

I really like this brake controller, It was easy to install and the light display lets you know how much your brake is working. The only problem I came across was that I had to order a special wire adaptor which they don't tell you when you place your order.

by:

The Tow Ready Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Nissan - 20266 and the 12-10 Gauge Butt Connector - 05732-2 were a perfect fit for the prewired harness on the 2013 Nissan Xterra S.
Thank you

These worked great for what I needed, ad so far its been a year and everything is still holding.
What is the best part was that etrailer was great on the phone, provided great customer service when ordering and even checked back in a year later to be sure the product was still working. Fantastic service!

by:

I'm installing brakes on a little 13' Scamp that didn't originally have them. With the help of very descriptive information on your website, plus videos, etc., I was able to determine exactly what I needed to do the job.
Ordering was painless. Shipping was free due to the amount spent, & the shipment arrived well packed , right on schedule, & it was filled exactly as ordered.
All parts were of top quality. The brakes & drums were Dexter as described & a perfect match for my existing axle.
Thank you etrailer.com. This was my 1st order but it won't be my last.

Not a water tight butt connector. Wouldn't use these!

While we dont have butt connectors designed to be water tight, we do have heat-shrink butt connectors like part # DW05744-5 as well as primary wire heat shrink tubing # DW05451. The heat shrink design is intended to help keep as much water as possible out of the wiring connection.

by:

I ordered several components to repair a damaged trailer connection. Very quick delivery...great email notification of order status...all products as advertised. I'll be back to eTrailer.com whenever I need trailer parts.

by:

Good quality connector. However recommend using connectors that heat shrink for trailer applications

by:

Great service! Love using etrailer.com and will continue to do so.

by:

Boy, I got my products, all well packed, the day before the three day shipping I was expecting. And a follow-up email with links to the details and instructions that I knew I would be going back to. Thanks George. Now, if you could do something about the rain . . . . .

  • What Gauge Wire Do The Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes 23-47-48 Use?
Hello Ted. The Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-47-48 use 14 gauge wire. We recommend using 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot. For a butt connector I recommend using part # 05732-2. These are made for 10 or 12 gauge wire but they can easily be clamped tight enough for 14 gauge wire.

  • Junction Box and Trailer Lighting Recommendation for 26 Trailer
Often times, people will run the wires from a 7-way such as yours to a junction box like part # 38656. From there, they will run the standard wire colors to the trailer lights, brakes and battery. I have attached a photo that shows how this setup works in the junction box. Most molded 7-way pigtails will come wired with the RV style color code. If you ever need to replace your 7-way connector in the future, you could simply open the junction box, remove the connector and wire loom and install...

  • 4-Pole Flat Wiring Harness for 2018 Ford Transit T250 For Use with Lighted Hitch Cargo Carrier
I recommend the Curt T-Connector 4-Pole Flat Wiring Kit # C56327 for your 2018 Ford Transit T250 because we have found their wiring products to be very reliable. This harness installs by plugging in at the T250's tail light housings and by running one wire up to the engine compartment for a power connection at the battery. The plugs on the harness simply get sandwiched in between the light and the OEM wiring, as shown in the linked diagram. I have linked a video and a helpful article to...

I can help you finish up the installation of your brake controller on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited. I really like the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. This brake controller is a proportional controller, which means whatever pressure you press the tow vehicles brakes it will apply the same pressure and intensity to the trailers brakes. It also has a customizable full display screen which provides you with a full error messages instead of codes that need to be deciphered. If you go with the P3 Brake...

  • Troubleshooting when Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Shows Overload After Driving
The OL code means that the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885 senses an overloaded circuit on the trailer. Since the code shows on the brake controller after you've been driving for a while, it sounds like you may have a loose connection somewhere. I recommend checking the wiring connections on your trailer to ensure they are all secure. You can start with the connections at the brake assemblies, trailer connector, and lights. It is a good idea to check any other connections...

  • Recommendation for Submersible LED Backup Lights on a Boat Trailer
I can help you add reverse lights to your trailer. Yes, It is important to pay attention to DOT compliance when adding lights on your boat trailer. Compliance will be met if you use the Optronics # BUL10CB light as your backup light. The # BUL72CB is purposed for a utility light and will not meet the criteria for reverse lights on the roadway. • Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller on a 2008 Toyota Tundra with 4-Way Connector
It sounds like your 2008 Toyota Tundra has a factory 4-Way trailer connector. A 4-way only has the basic light functions for a trailer. If the trailer also only has a 4-Way then it also has no wiring to the electric brakes. On the Tundra, to install a functioning 7-Way and brake controller you will actually need to use 4 to 7-Way adapter # 37185. Your factory 4-Way will plug into the back of this unit. You will then need to hardwire the remaining wires. The white wire needs to be grounded...

There is no reason you couldn't use the Curt Universal 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 7-Way Extension # C56080 and the Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47675 to get a 12 volt outlet to your trailer. However, if you don't mind a little DIY wiring, I may have a better way to do it that will end up costing less. With that said, we have the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 that could very easily be attached to 5 feet of Deka Jacketed 2 Wire # 10-2-1 with the # 05732-2 butt connectors....

There's two things to check. Go to the fuse box under the hood, and take a look at fuse location # 22. If the fuse is missing, look at the slot where the fuse installs. If there are metal pins in there that make contact with the fuse when it's installed, all you'll need to do is install a 30A fuse, and the harness feeding the brake controller will be powered up and you'll be good to go. If that fuse slot does NOT have the metal pins in it (which is sometimes found in XL Trim models) you'll...

  • Butt Connector Recommendation for Wiring up Brake Assemblies on Trailer
The wire gauge used in assemblies like the part # AKEBRK-7R-D is surprisingly thin at 16 gauge. The heavier gauge the wire the better. We recommend 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), for wiring up the brake output circuit. Since the wire is so long it's important to go with a thicker wire to reduce resistance even though the brake magnets use thinner wire. Especially since the wire gets teed off and ran to multiple brake assemblies. If you went with 10 or 12 gauge...

Installing the Tekonsha P-3 Trailer Brake Controller, item # 90195, on your 2005 Toyota Tundra should be very easy since your vehicle has the tow package installed with a factory 7-Way connector. The P-3 comes with a hard wire harness that plugs into the rear of the brake controller that you can wire your OEM jumper harness to. Hi James; the 4-way is not designed to run power to your reverse light circuit. What you can do is add the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat # C57187. The 5th pin connects to the reverse lights on your vehicle which can send power to the lights on the trailer. You will also need a 5-way connector for the trailer side like # HM47910 and # 12-1-1 to run wire to the reverse lights on the trailer along with butt connectors # 05732-2 to make your connections.
