My order and delivery were exceptional I received very quickly at a price that was very competitive. I was very impressed. I did have some problems with installation. First the bolts to secure the unit to the vehicle were burred enough to restrict easy threading, and three had to tightened all the way with use of a ratchet. The other more serious problem was the squared out plates that keep the bolts from turning when tightening where to small and did not lock against the frame. I was able to use the plates from the hitch I removed for this procedure, the plates needed to be slightly larger with no rounded corners. Mitch Heinrichs

To anyone even if you dont have strong mechanical skills this is an easy installation. Dont pay the dealership their outrageous price to have them install a hitch that takes less than an hour to instajj with a few wrenches. This is an exceptional product! Oh and make sure you get the trailer wiring harness because all you do is plug it into an existing wiring and you are ready to bring on your trailer needs. Highly recommend this hitch.

Here is how I ended up buying this hitch. In the spur of the moment I decided to buy a trailer (right place, right time, right price ) and all i had to hook it onto was the ball on the back bumper (rated at 500 lbs, which i found out later on) Needless to say, I pulled a 5000 lbs trailer hooked to the bumper. Yes, I know...not very smart...didn't know better.
Long story short... the bumper is a bit bent and I learned my lesson.

Here we are, bought the right hitch for the right trailer for the right situation. Live and learn.

It was delivered as stated (about 5... 6 days) and the package was heavy.
After i drove around with it for about another 2 weeks, i finally had time to install it.
I AM HAPPY. It is heavy, for a reason. It is sturdy and you feel it. I watched the video on the website for installation. It was very helpful, especially the trick to tape the washers to hold them in place. I did this in the parking lot and did not even jack up the van. I am skinny guy and usually I fit under any car. It is not easy to install it by yourself, yet not impossible.
It is hard to hold the hitch in place under the van, hold the back of the screws and put the nuts on and screw them at the same time, so i put one screw on one side and then another one across on the other side, after witch I put the rest of them in.
I must say the holes seemed to be to close together. I tightened one side an couldn't put the screws in on the other side. The holes could be moved apart another 1/16 in order to make the job easier (or maybe my van was just like that)
I screwed all the nuts little by little until they were all tightened up.

The price was right, high quality, feels sturdy. Happy with the purchase and will buy again and recommend it.
Time will tell how it holds.
Thank you Etrailer.

I installed this hitch on a 2008 Econline ford van. The installation was straight forward and simple. I have had no issues with this receiver hitch. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to haul. etrailer was helpful and delivery was prompt.

Comments
Its been a little over a year and the hitch is performing excellent. No problems at all. No rust, even in Wisconsin winters with road salt. Would recommend.

I received this hitch with some chips down to the metal. So I repaired these. Alll holes lined up except one. The hitch was bent 1/2 inch on one side. So with a steel rod, wood blocks, and a pump jack, I bent the hitch into place. All the extra work is why I gave this hitch a 3 star rating. I now have a 5 star hitch that works great with my Thule bike rack.

Comments
The biggest flaw was the bent hitch that I had to spend extra time and effort on to bend back into place. Like I said, after bending the hitch with a steel rod and wood blocks and a pump jack.... I now have a 5 star hitch.

Solid as HECK! Not just the solid sterl construction, but the company as a whole. Curt provides a great product, the shipping was faster than I expected, and the install was sizer easy! Best if you have a friend available to hold the unit in place exiles nuts & bolts are installed, but knowing in advance as I did that it might be a bit difficult to handle by myself, I was prepared with a gloor jack, and had zero issues! Thank you all!

by:

Item was exactly as described and took roughly 10 minutes to install including unpacking. I also ordered the necessary wiring and brake controller to complete the package and those were just as easy. The videos that are available are done very well and makes these projects go that much easier.

by:
2012 Ford Van

The overall quality of this product is excellent. I did have to apply a little elbow grease in the form of a wooden pry bar to get the holes to line up and the bolts to drop it, but other than that the installation went flawlessly on my 2012 E250 Van.

2 inch receiver moves around too much in the hitch. Chain hook up is too big for some of the chains . I called etrailer and addressed my concerns they said there was nothing they could do to help me. I wanted a different hitch that was quieter and the chains would work.

Comments
Thank you for your feedback. I have a solution for both the movement and the chain hook size needed. To help with the movement I would recommend an anti rattle device like part # C27UR
Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp for 2" Hitches
$24.65
, part # e99007
etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer for 2" Hitches - Vinyl Coated Steel
$21.58
or an anti rattle lock like part # 63232
Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches - 3-1/2" Span
$40.99
. A safety chain with a 916 hook with work with this hitch. We have the hook available it is part # C81288
Curt Hook with Spring Loaded Safety Latch for Safety Chains and Cables - 9/16" - 5,000 lbs
$7.76
and is rated for 5000 pounds.

So far, so good, but I haven't pulled with it yet. My only gripe on install is that they give you two big washers to make up the space that a frame weld creates, but the washer is too skinny. They would need to send 4 washers of that same thickness to make up the space. I had two fat ones here, so I added a fat one to theirs on each side and it fit snug when I torqued it down. If I hadn't done that, all I would have had was a washer floating around between the frame and the hitch and it would have rattled. Otherwise, it was straight forward install. Fit and finish are fine.

2014 e350. Bolted on in 5 minutes. I picked this one over the heavier duty one because it still can tow 10k and looks a lot less bulky/ugly. I am gr8 mechanic. I am so cool. Derp derp derp

I had two young boys install it 15 minutes or less all the brackets was perfectly lined up with the holes and also the wire harnesses install to. Thank u e trailer staff.

2014 Ford Van

This hitch was extremely easy to install on my 2014 E-150 Passenger van. Propped on end up on a step stool and bolted on the other, and then bolted on the step stool side. Instructions were easy and, at least in my case, didn't require any drilling. The only hitch (pun intended) was my lack of a torque wrench, but my neighbor is a mechanic, so I borrowed his. It took about 45 minutes to install in the driveway.

I don't currently have a trailer, but I plan to use the 2" receiver for bike and cargo racks, and possibly a step. In any case, it's always good to have a hitch.

I had just received by trailer hitch the delivery was extremely fast two days under the time was even supposed to come it’s a curt trailer hitch it’s great Quality . But I’m pretty much writing the review on etrailer.com very happy with how they work with their customers from the start on giving informed information and video/pictures or an assistant on the specific product and vehicle that the product is going to be going on to the ordering, price and keep you in the loop with where the part was in the delivery process . the tracking was right on .?etrailer even followed up with me after the part was delivered . etrailer‘s taken her customer service to the next level thank you .!

by:

Hi, one side mounting flange came bent. And the mounting holes for a 2010 Ford E-150 were about 1/2" off that required drilling.

by:

Good quality and normal install In use every week and no problem.

2013 Ford Van

I ordered this hitch receiver because it was a no drill option. The installation videos were really helpful. The hitch arrived quickly and was easy to install. I will definitely be ordering from etrailer.com in the future and I would not hesitate to recommend this hitch and etrailer.com to my friends.

2011 Ford Van

I am very happy with the Curt hitch I bought for my 2011 E350 Ford Van. My hitch was shipped very quickly and was a snap to install. Wiring also was very easy snap together with the Curt harness wiring kit. Both are top quality as expected based on the reviews I read on Etrailer

I chose the Curt hitch over the Reese because it is MADE IN THE U.S.A. Apparently Reese and Draw-Tite are now made offshore. It used to be you could save money buying a product made in China, but not so anymore; The offshore "name brands" are both significantly more expensive. In my my opinion, I would much rather have a hitch welded by a guy in Wisconsin who would likely be pulling his own boat with one on the weekend than a kid in China making $2 a day that doesn't even know what he is building. And the only improvement I can think of on the Curt is that they should make the American flag logo bigger on the Curt sticker on the hitch. Curt is the new gold standard in my opinion!

Comments
After one year I still love this product. paint still looks like new after a Chicago winter. As good or better than the factory hitch on my old van.

2006 Ford Van

I recently purchased the Curt class 4 trailer hitch for my 2006 /E-350 van. I'm impressed with the ease of installation, and fit! With the help of a friend to lift it up into position it took about 10 min. Using the factory holes in the frame, and it fits perfectly around the spare tire.

by:
2012 Ford Van

Shipping was very quick. Opening the box, initial impression was that the finish was very high quality, no chips or nicks in the glossy paint. Instructions were straightforward, very simple. Installation took me, a very slow worker, about 30 minutes. I used a few pieces of wood on an overturned milk crate to support the hitch while I inserted the bolts and finger tightened the nuts. I wrenched them down tight, then used a torque wrench to tighten them further. Easy peazy.

by:

Hitch is great and still looks like new. Service was outstanding.. Everything ordered arrived in excellant condition.
Thank you etrailer
