How to Wire a New 4-Way to a Sea Doo Trailer that Has Double Wires

Question:
The connector was damaged on my trailer and I bought a quick fix 4 wire flat connector for it. Ive noticed that my green, yellow and brown are doubles. Green/brown, yellow/brown, white/brown and the white ground is single. I have tried to push the double wire into the splicer but the lights are not on correctly. Im thinking that maybe one of the wires is not spliced through. The bottom middle tail light goes on with the right while blinking but not with the left. The side lights blink with the blinkers but then no lights are on when the truck headlights are on. All lights come on with the brakes. Does any of this make sense?

Sounds like you need to redo the wiring of the new 4-way completely. Typically, the green wire runs to the right turn/stop circuit, the yellow runs to the left turn/stop circuit, the brown wire runs to the taillights and the white is the ground that runs to the trailer frame.
If you have double wires or, "wishbone wires," on your trailer but the new connector only has single wires you will want to either twist the double wires together, or use a butt-end connector to run both of the wires to one side of the connector and then run a single wire on the opposite end of the connector to the 4-way. For a connector you could use the # 05732-2.
I attached an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out as well.
