Great product. Straight forward to instal myself. Great Value. Bolted without issue or modifications to an old Lexus RX300. Thank You!

by:

Awesome product..!! Fairly easy to install and ready to go in minutes… super satisfied with what I’ve invested in..!!

by:

Fantastic communication and service

by:

Well made USA product and relatively easy to install. Installation videos (hitch & wiring) were excellent too.

by:

This was more difficult that I expected. I figured this would be easier than the wiring…it was not. The metal holes did not line up fully which required me to use a crowbar and all my weight to line up the holes and have someone then thread the bolts. Seems like a solid product, but the installation was a lot more difficult than it should have been…this 4 rather than 5 stars

by:

Good price, excellent delivery time. Hitch fit perfectly.

by:

Does what it's supposed to do. 5 starts for that.

3 stars for installation--a frustrating and lengthy process: The bolt spacing (parallel to axle) is "just a smidgin" less than that on my 2003 Toyota Highlander. I eventually forced it on and it held, but what a pain.

by:

Thank you for the quick reorder and shipment! And here are the pics of the trailer hitch on my car.

by:

Looks real purdey.I'm a mechanic and from the looks of it, it will be a easy install, (so said the mechanic.??) Judging on the shipping I'd say you are all Rockstar. I won't look anywhere else in the future, no bull, but I am a Taurus.

by:

I can't believe how fast my order was shipped! I would tell the world about you guys.I didn't order through a big box online store so I don't know how to do that. I'm too old to install it by my self but the shop I took it to said said they could have it ready in about an hour. If I would have gone to the local hitch shop/muffler shop, it would have cost over $500 installed. My little shop asked $50.00. DUH!!!

by:
2002 Toyota Highlander

The hitch is of good quality, and the installation was a breeze.

by:

product like described and very quick shipping.

by:

the Hitch fit well. It took 2 hours not a half an hour no cutting drilling or welding. Getting the hitch above the muffler and below the heat shield was tricky.

by:
2002 Lexus RX 300

First one I received would not fit because the slot pattern is wrong, from left to right. The spacing front to back is fine, but the slots are not spaced far enough apart. Contacted e trailer and they sent me a new one. It is exactly the same, which means this model has a major manufacturing error. I have a big die grinder and a carbide burr and extended the slots on one side to make it fit. Etrailer was fine to work with, but this particular hitch is manufactured incorrectly.

by:

Holes did not line up. Had to pull hitch pry bar to get 5 of 6 bolts to fit and had to Waller out the last hole to get bolt in.

by:

The whole were not a perfect match but I made it work.
Other than that, it does the job. I have a very light trailer and the Toyota can't pull much.

by:

It was very easy to install it came with all hardware. It has a nice thick finish coat of paint on it ,very nice ,I use it for my bike rack and to haul my Honda jet ski to the river and lake thank you

Working great its nice and its holding up really well thank you God bless

Oh boy, I'll try to keep it short. Wife and I got screwed over by [auto parts store] twice! Ordered a Draw-Tite hitch for my 2003 Toyota Highlander and their website has you enter your vehicle information to guarantee the fit. Well, 2 hitches ordered and both did not fit my vehicle and each return [auto parts store] just shrugged...

I called etrailer to ask questions about the fit for this Curt Receiver for my Highlander and was told it will fit. I was hesitant of course but here I am pleasantly surprised. Great quality receiver, shipping time was a breeze (even during this pandemic) and my mechanic installed it in less than 15 minutes. Thank you for providing great service and having quality parts in your inventory!

by:
2002 Lexus RX 300

Did not fit on the vehicle at first because the slots were not wide enough and/or the metal was bent. Had to forcibly bend the metal in order for it to fit.

by:

Precise size and always good quality. This is my 4th Curt hitch on my 4th car, never let me down. I don't haul the trailers, but I do use it for the bike holder. Availability of the hitch eliminates the time wasting for folding the second row of seats, disassembling and assembling front wheels, loading and unloading. Put on the holder and go.

This hitch can be installed by one person as well. I spend 30 mins to do that with the great help of the jack, which was part of the standard car equipment.

  • Finding Replacement Hardware for Curt Trailer Hitches
The replacement hardware for the hitches you mentioned is the part # RHK like you mentioned. One solution would be to check out the instructions links for the hitches you need the hardware for and then take that to a hardware store and pick out whats needed from there.

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for 2002 Toyota Highlander Without Factory Tow Package
The trailer wiring harness I recommend for your 2002 Toyota Highlander is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118413. We have found this brand to be the most reliable wiring harnesses and installs easily by plugging into the tail light harnesses of your Highlander. I have added a link to a video install of this for you to check out as well. This harness will give your 2002 Highlander a great towing set up when paired with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13429. I've added a link to...

  • Can the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Part # C13429 be used with a Weight Distribution System
You are correct that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C13429, is not rated for use with a weight distribution system and should not be used with one. we used to carry a Hidden Hitch that was the only hitch we had for your 2000 Lexus RX 300 that's rated for weight distribution. Another option may be to use a sway bar, like the Reese # 83660, instead of the SwayPro. It'll still fight trailer sway but obviously you would lose the other benefits of weight distribution.

  • Hardware Size Included with the Curt Hitch # C13426 for a 2002 Lexus RX300
The bolt size that comes with the Curt Hitch part # C13429 that you references is M10-1.25x35. That would be the size thread tap you would need. Typically once a vehicle has seen a few winters the weld nuts on the vehicle frame get enough dirt and corrosion in them to require at least a thorough cleaning and sometimes retapping. I also attached an FAQ article on this for you to check out as well.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13429 is a fit for the following vehicles: 2001 - 2003 Toyota Highlander 1999 - 2003 Lexus RX 300 That said, the hardware is not designed to be reused so if you will be reinstalling this hitch on another vehicle you will need to obtain the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches part # RHK. • Replacement Hardware Kit For A 2002 Toyota Highlander Trailer Hitch
We can replace the entire hardware kit, however the bolts themselves are not individually replaceable. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And Wiring For 1999 Lexus RX 300
For your Lexus RX 300, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch # C13429. This is a a square tube design with gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance and prevention. it is an easy to install, bolt on application. • Can a 1999 Lexus RX 300 Safely Tow a 3,500 lb Trailer
According to my research it looks like your 1999 Lexus RX 300 can tow up to 3,500 lbs but you'll want to verify this with your copy of the owner's manual. If you don't already have the parts needed for towing I recommend picking up the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13429 as well as the Hopkins Active Tail Light Converter with Install Kit # 46255 for wiring. Then for a ball mount kit you can use the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4. Attached are some videos for you to check out.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch & Wiring Harness for 2001 Toyota Highlander
We offer two sizes/classes of hitch for your 2001 Toyota Highlander that you can see on the linked page. Both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches are offered; I suggest the 2-inch hitch # C13429 from Curt for its no-drill installation and because there are many more accessories made for this hitch size. An installation video and help article are linked for you. For trailer wiring the correct part depends on how the truck was equipped from the factory and what type of connector...

  • Could Curt Hitch for 2003 Toyota Highlander be Used to Transport Motorcycles
The Curt trailer hitch part # C13429 has a tongue weight rating of 350 lbs. That wouldn't be enough for carrying either motorcycle carrier configuration you mentioned. It would work well to tow a small trailer with your motorcycles loaded though. Some vehicles just have higher trailer hitch capacities than others. Typically it has to be a larger SUV or truck to have enough capacity for a motorcycle carrier.

The trailer hitch I recommend for a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek (Non-Hybrid) is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98838 which is a direct bolt-on fit with no cutting or drilling required. This trailer hitch in particular has a matte finish whereas the other options are glossy and the matte finish will help the trailer hitch blend in with the vehicle more. • Hitch and Motorcycle Carrier Recommendation for 2002 Lexus RX 300
Your best option for a trailer hitch on your 2002 Lexus RX 300 would be the Draw Tite hitch part # 41541 which is a confirmed fit and has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. As long as the weight of your carrier and bike weigh less than that combined this would be a great solution. Basically you'd have 130 lbs left over for the weight of a carrier like the etrailer # e98873. This carrier only weighs 58 lbs. You'll also need to verify that your vehicle has the capacity for this too.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2006 Toyota Highlander
For your 2006 Toyota Highlander the best hitch option is the etrailer part # e98857 as this has the best weight capacities, the easiest install and has a matte finish instead of gloss which is a bit more durable and makes it a little less visible. Then for trailer wiring the best option is the # C59236. This isn't a plug and play option but there are none for your exact vehicle configuration.
