Question:

Im trying to figure out if the square tubing you mount hardware to would accommodate the Yakima Jaylow brackets that I already have. Looks like the yakima will accommodate up to 1.25inch square bars.

Yes the Yakima Jaylow part # Y04073 that you referenced does fit the bars of the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer # MAL53FR that you also referenced.

Jameson, With respect… the JayLows do NOT fit the Malone 1.25” trailer bars. I just today spent an hour trying. The Malone bars are a bit too big. As soon as you try to tighten them down, they can’t way over. I do wish Yakima had an adapter. Am going to call them asap. The JayLows are nice. I might have to sell/give them away. Sad!

@TomL That's super frustrating to hear. Yakima states the Jaylow fits crossbars that are up to 1-11/16 inches tall by 3-1/2 inches wide and we know the Malone trailer has bars that are 1-1/4 inch square so technically that SHOULD work. If you call them let us know what they say as hopefully there's something that allows it to work we haven't thought of.

Hi Jameson. Well, as mentioned, when you try to tighten the JayLows, they slid easily right over. I can tell that if the Microsport XT crossbars were a bit SMALLER, the clamps would more encompass the bars to start out. Then tightening would be possible. Yakima really needs to attend to this in the posted info, as the JayLow is popular. I am trying to figure out their MightyMount H39 Universal Adapter before I purchase them. But… I don’t see how you attach the JayLow to the mount after it is put on the crossbar. BTW… one of your etrailer people wrote that the JayLows wouldn’t fit the MicroSport: he posted on in this venue that the crossbars were too SMALL! Go figure. Cheers!

@TomL Are you trying to figure out if the Jaylow fits the MightyMount H39? If so, I don't see it as a listed fit for that carrier. Sorry about the headache on this that's super frustrating.
