The Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack gives you solid support for everything from kayaks to rooftop tents. The full-length 58" aluminum crossbars are lightweight but sturdy, with a 165-lb weight capacity so you can haul bulky gear without worry. Their rustproof construction holds up through rain, sun, and long road trips, while the overhang design gives you more mounting space for carriers and accessories.
Wind noise can make long drives exhausting, but the AirFlow2’s aero-style bars cut through the air smoothly. The aerodynamic shape helps control airflow over and under the bars, reducing drag and vibration even at highway speeds. Rubber strips in the T-slots fill gaps to minimize that high-pitched whistling some racks make, keeping your ride quieter and more comfortable.
Getting your gear on the roof shouldn’t feel like a project. The rubber-coated steel clamps on this rack fit tightly around raised side rails without scratching them. Once clamped down with the included installation tool, the towers lock in place with built-in keys to keep everything secure. When you’re done hauling, removal is just as easy—loosen the internal bolts and lift it off as one complete unit.

Whether you use T-slot mounts or standard clamp-on gear, the AirFlow2 can handle both. The integrated top channels let you slide in channel-mounted accessories, while the rubber strips can be trimmed and reinserted around hardware to keep airflow smooth. The crossbars also work with most universal carriers, so your kayaks, cargo boxes, or bike racks all have a place without extra adapters or setup steps.

Each tower is made from molded nylon that resists fading and wear from the elements. Locking covers seal out dirt and moisture while deterring theft when your vehicle’s parked. Plastic endcaps keep water out of the bar interiors, protecting your investment and ensuring your rack stays reliable season after season.

what I wanted
Easy to to install on my Toyota OEM roof rails, seems sturdy and well-made.
Works as it is and compares to some other crossbars. Ive used it with an awning and held it up pretty well.
Works great, just wish there was a torque spec for the bars, I realized they came loose after first use
Fast service and product as described
Easy to install. Black looks sharp with my black roof rails. Locks are nice..a bit loose so will see over time how sturdy/secure they are. Same thing with end caps...could get loose over time too.
A shout to etrailer team for your videos....it is what helped make my decision to get the Malone Airflow2 for my Odyssey.
This review is for etrailer only and not the product which has not been used.
I ordered the product from the website strictly because it said at the time of ordering that it would be delivered on a specific date (6 days from date of purchase). I was leaving on a trip in 9 days and needed the cross bars for the trip. When they did not arrive before my trip I emailed etrailer who linked me the tracking # and essentially told me to wait longer.
I got back from my trip this morning (13 days from purchase date), this afternoon and delivery was this afternoon.
Etrailer's website lied to me about delivery making it impossible to come up with another plan for my trip. Very disappointed.
Really good!
Installed really easy. The rubber underinserts honestly were the hardest part! Fairly quiet, have a small whistle from 30-45 MPH below or above that I have nothing. I will tweak the under rubber pads to see if I can get it all removed. If the A/C is on or the radio, it cannot be heard.
I did have an issue where etrailer said the 50" bars would fit my telluride, they do not. Definately need the 58"
The Malone cross bars were fairly easy to install. With a helper it would have been super easy. There were mixed instructions, videos vs docu, about installing the weather strip under the bar. etrailer customer support was awesome as usual! Thanks
Easy to install, durable, have held up well for a year. A bit of wind noise when driving at highway speeds but not too noticeable. Overall, a good buy.

The rack has been solid and served us well. There is a bit of wind noise at highway speeds but nothing bothersome. Satisfies with the purchase, for sure.
Very Happy with this Purchase. We keep these racks on our Traverse year round to carry our kayaks and our roof top luggage carrier for long road trips. We haven’t had any issues with them and they were very easy to install. Would recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable set of Roof Racks.

After a couple years of use these racks have been holding up very well. We originally planned on removing them for the winter but decided to see how they would do in the winter weather. So far no issues. We love them. Great budget option versus Rhino Rack or Thule without sacrificing quality.
Look nice but whistling is unbearable on my 2025 Kia Telluride. Returning and ordering a different brand. Spent three weeks trying to resolve the whistle which occurs above 25 mph - so basically always. These are my first crossbars so I'm not sure if this is just par for the course with any brand, but extremely frustrating. I will say the folks at etrailer have been super helpful so I will order from here again!
Whistles severely. Found it's the top that's the issue. Taped over it with duct tape to isolate the issue. Contacted the company who were less than interested in helping solve it properly despite countless complaints about the same thing online. Regret my purchase, should have just gotten a $100 option from Amazon

They can indeed be noisy, which doesn't make them the best choice for everyone but their inexpensive cost makes them a great choice for some folks.
These create an unbearabley loud whistle on my 26 crosstrek wilderness. You can't hear anything else it's so loud. And yes I installed them correctly, used the rubber stripping, and adjusted them forward and backward. Waste of money.
These things are awesome. I just took them on a 10-hour drive with a Yakima Skybox on top, and they worked perfectly. There was some wind noise caused by the box itself, but no whistling. Without the box, the rack doesn't cause any appreciable noise. They are pretty easy and intuitive to install. Highly recommend, especially as they are way less expensive than the Thule and Yakima counterparts.
We received the order very quickly. The parts were all there. We haven't mounted it on our car yet or tried it, but expect things to go well. Very please with etrailer's speed of delvery and customer service!
Just installed on my 2024 Forester Wilderness. Fit perfect. The video istructions were good. Camping season is drawing near....

Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack - Aero Crossbars - Raised Side Rails - Aluminum - 58" Long - Black.
Stellar and knowledgeable customer service and follow up. Max load is identical to the vehicle mfg's max. I'm definitely a future customer. Thank you Briele!
These bars.. work. I was pretty nervous about the mounting system not completely enclosing my rails, and still am, but the clamps seem pretty sturdy. I have been using these with a basket rack and have had a decent whistle. I think with enough well placed duct tape (like the underside of the end caps) you could get the whistle to be minimal, or gone at most speeds.
If you’re reading this review, you’re likely trying to avoid spending double on a “premium” brand. So while these aren’t perfect, they will definitely work.
Quality is good, better vs the cheaper rails I had on my previous explorer in the past. Installed quick easy and I got all the rubber covers in within 15 minutes. The key and allen wrench set up is nice as well vs cheaper units. I am rating it a 3 because these are the loudest rails I have ever owned on any vehicle (probably my 5th SUV with a rail system). Extremely loud whistling between 25-60 MPH. If it was wind noise vs whistling I would be fine with it, but this seems to be a design flaw where the wind enters the clamp unit attached to the roof rails and causes the whistle, so no way to stop it.
I would not recommend these crossbars. The whistling is horrible!!!!! Installed correctly. Have moved it forward abd back. Still whistling. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Called customer service and was told I could not return it as I had installed it (that cery day). Then tried to sell me a wind faring for it for another $100.
Customer service was supposed to get back to me, the manager even, after a ohone call. Asked for install pics, sent to her. Did not get back to me until I emailed 2 more times. That is when she said she was reaching out to Malone. Thats it. Nothing.
I have otdered from etrailer in the past. This was my first not so good purchase/service.
Should have soent the extra money on the Thule.

Hey, I get why you’re frustrated, constant wind noise will drive you nuts, especially after you’ve already double-checked the install. I actually have these same bars, and I ran into something similar at first. What made a big difference for me was realizing that the rubber strip on the bottom wasn’t fully seated in the slot. Once I got that pressed in correctly, the whistling dropped off a lot. Might be worth a quick check if you haven’t already. Another thing that can help (not saying you should have to buy more stuff, just sharing what worked) is adding a fairing like part # MAL74SR It pushes the airflow up and over the bars, which can cut down that noise pretty significantly. Totally fair to still feel like they’re not worth it for you, just wanted to pass along a couple things that helped in case you decide to keep messing with them a bit.
Great price. Installing with the rounded end facing front (as is indicated) it was very noisy, even with the gasket seals installed. But I experimented and found that installing the pointy ends facing front it was MUCH quieter. I contacted Malone customer service to verify this would not compromise the structural load bearing function, which they did. "Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your Airflow2; we can confirm that having the pointed edge of that Crossbar facing the front of the vehicle would not compromise your Airflow2, and there would be no issue with having the Crossbar mounted in that direction." It may just be my car's roof angle (2008 Acura MDX) but if you find this is really unbearably noisy and whistley, try reversing the orientation.
The step by step installation video is 100% spot on. Installation took 30 minutes max.

Wow Vicki, great job on the install. Now what are you putting up on the roof?
Excellent Roof Rack & Outstanding Customer Service
I recently purchased the Malone AirFlow2 Aero Crossbars (58”) and I’m very happy with the entire experience.
The product itself is solid, well-built, and fits perfectly on my vehicle with raised side rails. Installation was straightforward, and once mounted, the bars feel secure and stable even at highway speeds. I also noticed minimal wind noise, which is a big plus.
Shipping was fast and everything arrived on time, exactly as described.
What really stood out to me was the customer service. I called on a Saturday with a few questions, and Angie from etrailer answered the phone. She was incredibly professional, patient, and genuinely helpful. It’s not something you see every day, especially on a weekend.
Overall, a great product backed by a company that actually cares about its customers. I’ll definitely continue purchasing from etrailer in the future.
Highly recommended.

I do agree that these should have specific specs, but sadly they don't. It is typically recommended to check the tightness after use but hand tight even a little more should work. Just keep an eye on it and tighten when needed.
