The ratchets make it easy to get our secured on the roof of the car after a long day of kayaking. We are replacing a set we have used for 5 years, which are succumbing to wear, tear and wind erosion.

by:

They work well in securing my load.

by:

These are original replacements! Very fast delivery. High quality service. Have used e trailer before. Super folks.

by:

I have only used them a few times but they're solid. Same quality as the ones that came with the Thule Dockglide racks.

by:

I just received my ratcheting Kayak tie towns to replace my old friction-based setup. They arrived very quickly and for the best price online.
Having borrowed a friend's tie-downs in the past, I decided it was time for my own. I'm happy to report that they are very well made and a cinch to assemble using the provided diagram.
To use, just attach the hook to your car's underside tow loop or other sturdy location. Then pass the provided nylon web loop through your kayak's locking U-bolt (or carry toggle), and join both ends to the provided carabiner. Draw the rope tight and tie off the remaining length and you're good to go!
It's actually faster than reading this review!

by:

pretty good ratchet. My only complain is that the clip (part connected to the black case) is small. So if you try to clip it onto a larger clip, its does not make a very big opening. Anyways, good part. Very solid construction, metal. Mine has taken a serious beating and still going strong. Rope very good quality. Does not fray.

Ratchet very good, several trips, rope stuck under front tire, did not break ratchet. Solid

by:

The service was excellent. My interaction with your team was accurate, friendly and professional. Given COVID-impacted potential in order processing, Christina tracked my order and followed up in a professional, accurate and friendly manor.

I have received my product and look forward to making good use of it, for years to come. I would not hesitate to order from your service again.

by:

Needed to replace Thule tie downs prior to a Kayaking trip, as those I have had for many years were in bad shape. Several others I paddle with had same situation so I bought several sets. fast delivery was important and etrailer got them to me fast.
Thule products are high quality, nothing more to be said!

by:

These ropes work great and are so easy to use. I had one set for my canoe and ordered these for the kayak. We'll bring both boats on our vacation. The ordering and help from etrailer went smoothly.

by:

Have owned these ratchet straps in the past. Purchased another set for another vehicle. These are fabulous.

Thank you etrailer for another great transaction and customer service.

by:

Great to work with. I was away from home and wanted my order delivered to the address I was at.
I failed to enter the correct address when I placed the order. On the day of delivery I phoned Etrailer to let them know of my mistake. They notified UPS for me and I received the package that afternoon.
The product was exactly what I was looking for.

by:

Good quality product. My only recommendation would be to add about 1 ft of a rubber covering at the bottom of the ropes, near the hook. This would ensure that bumpers do not fray or sever the rope when the load is strapped down.

by:

Fast service and product was exactly as described.Would recommend doing business with trailer. Thanks

by:

Can never have too many tie down straps.

by:

Etrailer is awesome
Every time I order
something it arrives so fast I can't believe it
Thank you

by:

Both products arrived as advertised. Minor damage to the product box inside outer box but product not damaged.

by:

The tallest a very well with no swag. It's easy to load and unload. It folds up and stores very well as well.

by:

This was my 3rd order from etrailer this month. The videos were extremely helpful and all the Thule products arroived when I was told they would and were exactly as described. I have been very impressed with they customer service and their follow up process post-order to make sure you are happy. Will definitely order from them again!

by:

Does what it is intended to do
Much
easier than a self rig for sure!

by:

Thule stuff just plain seems to be well made. These arrived quickly and are just what we needed.

by:

Love these!!

by:

These worked great.

by:

Works great every time! Makes tie downs quick and easy.

by:

everything was perfect as usual.

  • Recommended Kayak Carrier, Canoe Carrier, and Bike Rack for 2018 Honda CR-V
I see you have asked a pair of different questions, one about transporting 2 kayaks and the other about a canoe and bike rack. What will you be transporting on your CR-V, and if it is bikes, how many are you looking to carry? If you can get back to me with that I can try and find you the best solution.

  • How to Transport a 90 lb Canoe on the Roof of a 2017 Dodge Durango
I do have a solution for you but unfortunately there are no adapter kits available to carry your 38" wide canoe. You need to use a different roof rack system or use a canoe carrier. For a roof rack system I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack which includes 54" crossbars # RRVA137B-2, the 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA, and the DK Fit Kit # DK299. This gives you longer crossbars that have a max weight capacity of 165 lbs. To carry your canoe just on the crossbars will also require...

  • Adding Rollers, a Winch, and Straps to a Malone MicroSportXT
We have all of the components you are looking for to turn your MicroSportXT, part # MPG460XT, into a mini boat trailer! For your rollers, I recommend the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk, part # DL21741. They have a 5' span so they will reach across your crossbars. To mount these, use the Boat Trailer Roller Bunk Bracket, part # DL21742. I've linked to a video installation of both of these for you to look at. Please note that you will need to find a 1-1/4" u-bolt and mounting...

  • Are J-Style Kayak Carriers Compatible With The TracRac RacOne System?
I do have a solution for you, however I spoke with my contact at Thule (who manufactures the TracRac systems) and he stated that J-Style Kayak carriers are not compatible with the TracOne Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TA27000B that you referenced in your question. This is because the crossbars on the ladder rack are simply too wide for the J-Style carriers to mount properly. I instead recommend looking at the Thule Surf Pad # TH845000 to protect and support your kayaks on the ladder rack. This...

  • What Surfboard Pads fit My Thule TracRac TracONE Crossbars?
Yes! The only surfboard pads we have for your TracONE ladder rack with 4" x 1-1/2" crossbars is the Thule SUP and Surfboard Pads # TH845000. The strechable material allows the pads to expand to fit the bars. I went ahead and attached a picture of a neighbor review who used the pads on his TracONE ladder rack with the same crossbars dimensions. If you need straps/ties to secure your surfboard, that is the Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops - 13' - Qty 2 # TH855XT.

The Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Kayak Mounting System # TH830 or Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs 4 Kayaks # RRS520 are excellent carriers for 3 or 4 kayaks. The Thule Stacker comes with enough tie-downs for one kayak, use Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops # TH855XT for an extra kayak. The Thule Stacker only requires a minimum of 26" crossbar spread, so it will mount onto the factory crossbars of your 2016 Toyota 4Runner without an issue. I do,...

The weight limit for the Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - Post Style - Folding - 4 Kayaks, part # RRS520, is 165lbs, so it can support the weight of your kayaks. If you have an aftermarket roof rack, and it is not an Inno roof rack, that is also the weight limit of your rack. (If it is an Inno Roof Rack that weight limit is 120 lbs.) • How are Kayak Bow and Stern Tie-Down Straps Used?
Those are bow and stern tie-down straps. They are necessary for tying your kayak down so it doesn't fly off your vehicle's roof. Tie-down straps like these are required in order to transport a kayak and come with many Thule products, including the Hullavator # TH898. I have added a link to a video showing you exactly how they work so you can keep your kayak safely secured to your Volvo.

  • Kayak Carrier With Load Assist for Toyota Sienna
Yes the Yakima ShowDown Kayak Carrier # Y04081 needs a minimum of 3-1/2" but no more than 4" of overhang from the support tower. This is sometimes hard to achieve with roof racks. An alternative is the Lockrack Watersport Carrier # LR54FR. This is a really easy to use saddle style carrier. Removing one of the arms allows for you to slide your kayak into place. When both arms are in place it reduces the need for straps. It is not required but I highly recommend using a bow and stern strap...

If you're needing some tie down rope, you can use the: -Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops # TH855XT. What that means is that the combined weight of everything loaded on the roof rack cannot exceed 200 pounds. If you do not already have kayaks then keep this number in mind.
