Used this to remedy a bad Dodge ECM module that quit sending brake light signals thru the 7-way plug. Did some cutting and splicing of wires and went "old school" by connecting directly to tail-lights, then back through 7-way. Has worked flawlessly for over 2 seasons now!

I have an older but well maintained Class A RV. I wanted to tow with lights but found out my turn signals were not the same as my brake lights. etrailer had the solution for my problem. Been on 2 cross country trips with the lights module and everything works great !
Contains all you need to make this work. Used it on my 2017 GLE350 that has LED tail lights using combined brake and signal lights. Figuring out the correct wires to connect to was a bit trial and error. Running the wire from the module to the fuse box below the rear passenger seat took some time as well. But the setup works without a problem.
Wires:
Brake (red): connect to ground.
Lights (brown): right tail light, white with blue tracer.
Right turn: right tail light, gray/black wire
Left turn: left tail light, gray/black wire.
Ground: at rear of the car, between tail light and spare wheel well.
12V power: below rear passenger seat, using the big screw connector/cable visible there.

The Curt trailer hitch has been perfect- i also purchased the light system to connect to the trailer - it took me a whole day to install and i am thankful for the detailed videos for the hitch and lights. I only got help with the hitch when lifting it into position as i do not have a hitch jack. I think the hitch is top quality and I am confident to pull anything-

The trailer lighter converter doesn't seem to work the brake lights after installation. I will be contacting customer service about this issue.

Before you test the harness with a circuit tester like item # PTW2992 can you please remove the fuse on the power wire for 30 minutes, then reinstall it. This fuse should be located close to the vehicle battery in a fuse box. If the powered converter box has engaged its circuit protection feature, this will reset the box unless it was overloaded and it was damaged.

I wish to apologize thinking there was an issue with the converter when there wasnt, the next day I did a check and because I infact thought I needed to connect the brake red wire directly to the brake switch and not the multi-purpose red and green wire on my 08 Lincoln. It works great when you wire it correctly.
Works great and was easy to install on my 2005 Honda Element
converter and flat 4 wiring was fine. for my application, the green RH turn signal wire was over 2 feet too short to cross from one tail light to the other. really, add 3 ft to the wire, much less hassle. the power wire from battery to converter is ALSO TOO SHORT, by more than 5 feet. Since that part of the kit is really only the fuse holder and the wire, this was a waste of money. NOT AT ALL WHAT I WOULD CALL A UNIVERSAL FIT.

This wiring harness part C59496 is considered a universal fit because it is not a plug and play custom fit application. It can be hardwired into many different vehicles. If you needed extra wire for your vehicle, I recommend part # DW02412-1 for extra 14 gauge wire.

I installed this in about 1 hour mostly reading and discovering which wires to use. I went and tested on a standard trailer and all the lights work as expected. With the battery in the back of the Volvo xc70 2005 I didn't have to run the wire to the front so it was even easier to install than most vehicles

Its been on a year now and I love the ability to pull a 4x8 trailer with my xc70.
Note that if there is factory plug behind rear bumper on 2025 Equinox you can use C44FR connector and have dealer program BCM to work. Thank you Heather A.

Very happy with the trailer hitch and 4-way tail light converter for my 2004 Mercedes SLK 320. I never thought anyone would make one for a sports car, but etrailer does and it works perfectly. I found the etrailer hitch on the "SLK World" website, where other SLK owners have also installed it, and would recommend going there if you have an SLK.
Fit perfectly when following instructio ns.
Since I only had myself, I used two jack stands to stage it to bolt into place and it went in easier than I expected.
Heavy duty construction, so it is heavy.

The custom wiring for my car has an issue, so this was the only option offered. Splicing wires and running a wire all the way to the battery is OK if there are no options, but my vehicle has a modular plug right in the rear compartment. I'm going to get the OEM harness.
Finally got the Curt powered tail light Converter with 4 WayFlat Trailer Connector and Install Kit installed on my 2025 Can Am Canyon Redrock 3 Wheel Motorcycle. Disassembly to access the taillight wiring was the difficult part. Followed the wiring instructions in the kit and used the test light to verify vehicle wiring. When finished everything worked like a champ! eTrailer does it again! My go to for trailer and towing equipment!

Still in good shape no issues
