Hi, Are you able to inform when a plug and play 4 pin wiring harness will be made available for the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan?

I completely understand wanting to wait for a true plug and play harness on a brand new Tiguan because nobody wants to start cutting into factory wiring or chasing lighting issues on a newer vehicle. The good news is that Curt does have a custom fit plug and play 4 pin harness in development for the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan, part C56RJ.

Right now, Curt still has the harness listed as coming soon, but unfortunately they have not released an official ETA yet. The harness is actively being developed and will be a direct plug in style setup once available, so it should give you the clean OEM style installation you are looking for without splicing into the taillight wiring.

If you end up needing trailer wiring immediately before the custom harness releases, the current alternative would be a universal hardwired option like the Curt part # C59496, but I completely understand wanting to avoid that route if your goal is a clean factory style install.

What are you planning to tow first with your Tiguan, a utility trailer, small camper, or bikes?

@JorgeT I wish I had a better timeline for you, but Curt has not provided an ETA yet. Hopefully testing and production move along quickly since there are already quite a few 2026 Tiguan owners looking for the same thing. What do you typically use the utility trailer for, home projects, landscaping, or hauling recreational gear?
