Question:

The problem is the trailer lights, either LED or incandescent have the same resistance as the light bulbs in the BMW. Adding 50% more load makes the flasher respond faster. A more HD flasher could compensate for the extra load and slow down the flash.

The LED taillights often have this hyperflashing issue. To solve it, you simply need to add a load resistor like # DI34ZR. You will need one resistor for each side and this kit comes with 2. This will draw more power from your system so you won't get that hyperflashing. I've attached a diagram on correctly installing these load resistors.

My apologies for not better explaining that the LED trailer lighting is what I was addressing. With the hyperflash on the trailer lights, the lack of power draw from the LED lights is the issue because most trailer harnesses are made for incandescent bulbs which draw much higher amperage. The trailer wiring harness needs that extra power draw to help the LED lights which draw such a minimal amount of amperage to function properly. Another option if you have a 7-way trailer connector is to use the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass - 7-Way RV to 7-Way RV - Vehicle End # 20142. This has a built in load resistor to eliminate hyperflashing as well as lamp out error messages on certain vehicles because the sensors require a higher amperage draw than LED lights draw which makes the sensor think there is a light bulb out even with LED's functioning. We do not carry any HD Flasher but these options do solve the hyperflashing you are experiencing with your trailer LED lights.
