All-In-One Suspension System

When towing or hauling a heavy load, you may encounter a number of problems that can make your driving experience difficult or dangerous, such as sway, body roll, or bottoming out. When your vehicle is weighted down, your factory leaf springs can't counteract these problems to the extent that they are supposed to. The weight will overpower the leaf springs and cause them to twist or flatten out. When that happens, they cannot support, level, or stabilize your vehicle effectively. Additionally, because your factory leaf springs are passive, they won't begin to tackle problems such as sway until those problems have already started.

Diagram of RAS Installed

Roadmaster Active Suspension (RAS) kits enhance those passive leaf springs by converting them into a mechanically active, all-in-one suspension system. RAS kits have variable-rated coil tension springs that automatically adjust to your heavy load. Other suspension systems only solve a few problems and usually at the expense of other improvements your factory leaf springs may need. RAS, on the other hand, is a unique kit that provides everything you want in a suspension system without any trade-offs. It eliminates bottoming out like air springs, reduces sway and body roll like sway bars, keeps your ride level like helper springs, and improves traction and braking control like traction bars. This improves your vehicle's stability, handling, and control while you are towing or hauling, as well as when your vehicle is unloaded. RAS also makes your overall driving and towing experience safer and more comfortable, which greatly lessens driver fatigue.

How RAS Works

Close-Up of RAS Tension Spring

Each RAS unit has a powerful variable-rated coil tension spring that converts your passive leaf spring into a mechanically-active system. Once your vehicle is loaded, the tension springs immediately activate to absorb and support the weight. This allows your leaf springs to maintain their bowed position and keeps them from flattening out or flipping over, which greatly hinders their ability to bear a heavy load. The tension springs are variable-rated, which means that the heavier your load is, the more assistance they provide to your leaf springs. Because of this design, RAS reacts instantaneously, whereas hydraulics, air springs, and other suspension systems take time to react. And unlike your factory leaf springs, RAS stops sway and sag before they even start to happen. Additionally, when your vehicle is unloaded, the tension springs disengage, allowing your leaf springs to perform as intended without hardening your ride. RAS won't hinder your leaf springs' movement, nor will it cause any friction between any of the brackets.

Eliminates Axle Wrap and Wheel Hop

RAS Eliminates Axle Wrap

When under a heavy load, leaf springs are especially susceptible to axle wrap, which can cause wheel hop. Wheel hop is when the tires lose their grip on the road, causing a jarring, up-and-down movement. Axle wrap occurs when the circular motion of the tires cause the leaf springs to twist or rotate. If the leaf springs twist far enough, wheel hop can occur. RAS stabilizes your leaf springs by absorbing the force of the load they're trying to support. This eliminates axle wrap and wheel hop, as well as prevents your vehicle from bottoming out. Because of this, less strain is put on your vehicle. And by reducing some of this wear and tear, RAS helps extend the life of your leaf springs, shock absorbers, shackles, and even tires.

Reduces Sway and Body Roll

RAS eliminates sway and body roll

When driving along a curve while towing or hauling a heavy load, the back end of your vehicle or trailer can start to shift with that weight. If your factory leaf springs have flattened or twisted under this load, they won't be able to prevent it from shifting. Because of this, your trailer will sway away from your vehicle. This makes driving challenging and dangerous, as it increases the risk of body roll, which is when your vehicle drastically leans to one side. This can often cause you to completely lose control of your vehicle. Body roll is especially prevalent with multi-passenger vans and vehicles towing long campers, trailers, or boats. RAS provides a much safer ride by reinforcing your factory leaf springs and stabilizing your load. This helps prevent sway from occurring and reduces the chance of body roll while cornering, turning, and swerving. RAS also lessens the rocking motion that happens during windy conditions or when a semi passes by on the road.

Levels Your Ride and Improves Traction

RAS Levels Your Ride

When your vehicle is overloaded, the bulk of the weight transfers to the rear axle. Your factory leaf springs then become overwhelmed by this weight, as they are not strong enough to support it. This causes the back end of your vehicle to sag and the front end to rise, which means that the front tires have lost some of the grip they need with the road. In addition to loss of traction, it can also cause poor headlight aim, unintentional swerving, and an extremely bumpy and uncomfortable ride. RAS bolsters your factory leaf springs and enables them to provide support for your load without compromising ride quality or comfort. This keeps your ride level from front to back whether you are hauling a load in the bed or towing a boat, trailer, or camper. RAS also ensures that your tires have the traction they require while braking and accelerating, which improves the overall driving experience.

Customizable Coil Tension Springs

Adjusting Spring With Spacer

RAS is also customizable. During installation, the coil tension springs can be adjusted to 2 different tension settings or anywhere in between for improved road handling and support. To do this, rotate the springs while keeping the threaded rod still. As you turn the spring, use one of the 2 included spacers as a gauge to measure the widening gaps between the coils. In order for the RAS units to work as intended, you must tension the coils to a minimum of 25 percent with the 1mm white spacer and no more than 40 percent with the 2mm spacer. The springs can also be independently adjusted to compensate for off-center loads such as a handicap lift.

Easy, Bolt-On Installation

RAS Once Installed

This custom-fit kit comes fully assembled and is easy to install. Each RAS unit simply bolts onto your factory leaf spring with the included hardware, and drilling, welding, and cutting aren't required. First, position the eye hook bracket so that it wraps around the top of the factory leaf spring eye. Then the axle bracket secures under the leaf spring and around the factory U-bolts on the other side of the leaf spring pack. Once the maintenance-free RAS units are fully installed, you won't need to monitor them as you would with air springs.

Corrosion-Resistant Steel Construction

RAS Construction Close-Up

RAS is extremely durable and corrosion-resistant. The units are constructed of high-grade alloy steel, and they have an epoxy e-coat on the coil springs to provide extreme corrosion resistance. The brackets on the ends of each unit resist the effects of water and other elements, and they have a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours.

Video Transcript for Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit Review

Today, we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit, part number RAS3611. The Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit is going to help to convert our basic leaf spring kit into a mechanically active suspension. This is going to provide great assist for vehicles with the rear leaf springs without compromising any of their ride quality. It's going to help to eliminate any of the bottoming out or axle wrap that we can sometimes get, which is going to lead to great improvements and road handling. It helps to reduce the sway and the body roll that we often we get during cornering. The Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit works with or without a load. It's going to absorb and dissipate any load force that we might have when our vehicle is loaded, and whether it's loaded or unloaded, we're going to have improved vehicle stability, handling, traction, and control.

Now, when we receive our suspension kit, it's all going to be preassembled, really easy straight forward installation. We've got both sides here. We're going to have our instructions, our warranty registration, and even our spacers so we can fine tune the system. The thinner one, that's going to give us a 25% improvement. The thicker one, that's a 40% improvement. Now, the system itself is going to have a few main components.

We've got our eye-loop strap. We've got our main spring here in the center. This does all the work, and then, we've got our axle brackets here where they'll mount onto the truck. Like I said, really simple installation. We're only going to have to take care of getting one bolt to install it on the vehicle.

Then, we can make our adjustments on our spring. Now, our eyehook, our spring, and our brackets are full epoxy-coated. This is going to offer us up to $800 of salt spray protection. Even if we're using them up North or here in the Midwest, we're not going to have to deal with a whole lot of rust and corrosion. The threaded rod, all of our moving points here, and our bolts are going to have spacers that are fully treated as well, again to help prevent rust, and then, we're going to have some high-quality fasteners here to use as jam nuts to get it all locked into place once we've got it where we want it positionwise. Here on our eyehook, you can see we've got our articulating ball/socket setup. The same thing here on the other side, a rotating bar setup here.

This is going to allow both of our leaf springs full maneuverability, so we'll never have any of those binding situations to where it's kind of bound up or our spring gets caught, anything like that. The axle brackets themselves are fully adjustable to fit a wide variety of vehicles. You want to use whichever one most closely matches your setup. To start our install, we need to take the tires off each side of the vehicle. The way we want to set it up is we want the tires to be up off the ground but we want it to be supported or resting on jack stands. You can use those on each side of the axle and also in the middle on your center differential, they'll instruct you to use a jack. Just follow the instructions, they're going to tell you exactly how to get it set up so you can do the work. Then, we want to take the center caps, each wheel is going to be a little bit different. It might look just like this, it might have a center cover, or whatever, but remove both rear wheels once you got your truck properly set. For installation, we're going to grab the spring pack so that when our hook is oriented toward the back that our main bolt comes into the top part of the bracket. You see there Then, we want our hook to go right around our eye on the back of the spring there. We'll grab a couple of either 3/4" ratchets or 19mm and let's take our bolt out that's here on the end. It holds our spacer into place. Take that on out. Now, what we want to do is get one of our 5 holes so that we can have our bolt and spacer here behind the U-bolt block. To extend this length, what we need to do is hold on to the threaded rod while we turn our spring toward us. Then, we can bring our bolt back in and we go through the arm on our bracket, and of course we want to put our spacer on there. Then, we'll add on our nylon locking nut. You want to be careful if you've got any sensors or any wires or anything like that, that we don't have it pinched in behind there. Then, we're ready to tighten down our bolt. Now, we're not going to tighten our bracket down so much as to where it actually sandwiches our U-bolt here. What we're looking for is to tighten it down enough to capture our spacer so it won't move. That's going to be oriented right there just underneath our spring and all the way back against that block. Then, we'll take the slack out of the system by doing the opposite of what we did to extend it. Now, we want to take another look at our eyehook here. We want that to be centered on the spring pack. Then, we'll feel our spring actually get tight while we're turning it. Right there, it's starting to tension up a little bit. Now you see everything is locked into place and it won't be moving. Now, it's time to make our adjustment. While holding the nut that's located here at the end of our threaded rod, we'll need a 22mm ratchet. We can come to the other end with our 12mm and start tightening our spring. As we turn our small nut or bolt located here on the end, we'll start to see the gaps in our springs increasing. Periodically, we're going to want to take our disc and check. These discs, white as we said is a 25% increase, the black is a 40% increase, and they should barely pass through those rings. As you see right now, they're not and we need to keep going with it. Here you can see our spacer just barely passing through there, so we know we've got it set properly. If we're looking for extra performance out of the system, we can switch from the 1mm up to the 2mm, and we want to follow that same process. Now, we'll head over to the driver side and repeat that same exact process. Now, we'll get our tires put back on here and torqued down to specification, and then, we'll go ahead test out that system and see how it worked. Now that we've seen how it works, how it can help us, and how to install it, that's going to complete today's look at the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit, part number RAS3611.

Product was very easy to install. Very well made. It took me about 35 minutes to install both sides once the truck was on Jack stands. Product did raise the rear of my truck a little. Can't say how much because I forgot to measure before I started. Truck still rides nice, no harshness or strange noises. I purchased the roadmaster active suspension to help eliminate squat and improve driveability while towing our 7500lb travel trailer. Hopefully I will get to try it out with the trailer soon. 595303

RAS is still working great . I have to make a correction. Our trailer is 8005lbs empty and it is a pull behind not a fifth wheel. Tongue weight is about 900lbs with my motorcycle in the garage and the garage is in the front. When used in conjunction with my weight distributing hitch, my truck rides great and handles great.

I have a 2016 F-150 4x4 with a 2 inch leveling kit and 305 tires. I am towing a 26RR Grey Wolf camper. I beleave it is 4992 lbs dry wait and 7775 lbs loaded. It is meant to be pulled with 1/2 ton trucks. Want to give all specs to be fair to the product. The product was easy to install. I adjusted spring to the black disk. When I hooked up the camper I notice my truck definitely squated less. The towing ride was less bumpy. That is it. It definitely did not improve fuel mileage. I am still at 8.5 miles to the gallon. That is on flat ground, I live in Florida. Still could not go over 65mph without camper feeling loose on the road. 3 stars for now until I tow other trailers. It was an improvement but not as much as I was expecting. Still going to go truck shopping for a bigger truck to solve my towing needs. Side note: truck looks great and rides way better without a trailer in tow. 2/22 inf 744719

The Roadmaster Active Suspension is designed to improve your trucks stability, handling, and control by keeping the truck level even when youre towing. When you say that your camper feels loose on the road, it sounds like your trailer starts to sway at speeds above 65 mph. The best solution for keeping your trailer tracking straight while rolling down the road is to use a weight distribution system with sway control. A weight distribution system will not necessarily improve your fuel mileage, but it will improve your experience towing your 30ft trailer. I have linked a help article on Weight Distribution systems for more information.

I own a 2017 F150 and placed the RAS3611-y kit last year. So far the ride improvement and the handling when pulling my equipment trailer with 7000# load is great. Air load adjusters would have been a mistake. Thanks George J. for a great product. No need for load levelers with this kit. 675401

As with many other reviewer's I researched several different brands and types of systems. The springs have helped out immensely with the tongue weight I have to pull with my F-150. I notice a 2 to 3 inch difference in the ride height with the springs on while towing approximately 1200 to 1400 pounds of tongue weight. It also takes out the bouncy feel from truck to trailer on non-smooth roads. The installation is very simple and quick. I highly recommend this product. 443416

I have had this product a couple of months now with two trips pulling my travel trailer. It has helped in leveling out the truck/trailer so that less pressure is applied to the weight distribution system. Product is easy to install, I didn’t even need to take the tires off. It also is easy to adjust to fit different hitch weight. It did make my truck ride a little ruff but not to a point that is uncomfortable. I chose this product over air type products as I didn’t want to have to mess with it. I would recommend this product. 593932

Delivery was on time and the product was good and ready to go! Jacked up the truck put it on stands and 1hr 30mins later I was driving off for a test run. Works just like it says it would. No body roll, takes off so much smoother, and I did about 40 over those big rolling neighborhood speed bumps and it was super smooth. Before RAS it would have a real bouncy feel over the speed bump now it attack the bump if you know what I mean. I tow a 25' trailer so I can't wait to see how much bounce is taken out when I'm driving over the dippy roads through the mountain pass here in WA. Thanks E-trailer! 313970

My initial review was was 5 star rating and after one year of use it still remains a 5 ??. I have a chance now to tow my 25’ travel trailer for a season and works great. It helps with proposing and reduced the little sag when I have her loaded up for a long trip. Highly recommend RAS with a WDH combination for smooth comfortable towing experience.

Thanks I put the springs on today’s. I have one question, I adjusted them to the 20% / one millimeter. Can they be adjusted to the 40% with truck sitting on ground if my trailer still has the bounce in it when hooked, or will I need to lift it off ground to readjust if needed. 590227

Comments
According to the manufacturer, when the suspension system is adjusted, the vehicle must be raised with the axle hanging free. This releases most of the spring tension.

I’m impressed by the quality and engineering of this product. The person who designed it should win an award! I installed this on my 2013 F150 in preparation for hauling around my 1998 24’ coachman I’ve been working on fixing up all winter. I didn’t want a solution that would stiffen up the trucks ride because it’s very comfortable. I can’t feel any change in ride. Installation was very easy, took about an hour for everything and just a few tools. I haven’t towed with it yet but I did hook my trailer up and it didn’t squat like it did before. So far, very impressed. I’m glad I didn’t mess with airbags and all. 629033

Ford F-150

I did a lot of research to determine if I should use airbags or the RAS. For my application the RAS was the better choice. No matter who I asked, no one had a negative comment about this product (RAS). I tow a Jayco Travel Trailer (TT - 9000lbs) and while I have towed boats for years I was new to the type of tongue and hauling weight that the TT exerts on my vehicle. Installation was a breeze. I spent more time preparing my tools and finding my 22mm wrench than I did installing the RAS. There are many Youtube videos on how to install the RAS and I do recommend you watch them. My ride (F150 Echoboost) was smoother while pulling the trailer; however, I didn't feel any change to my daily driving (positive or negative). If you're using a WDH, I recommend these over the airbags. The airbags can be counter intuitive since the WDH should fix most of the weight distribution and level. The RAS works well with all WDH's and once installed you don't have to make any changes to it, unlike the airbags. Get the RAS - you'll be happy you did. 399233

2018 Nissan Leaf

Installed the Roadmaster auxiliary springs on a 2018 F150 Screw FX4 (max tow package; 7000 lbs rated payload capacity) because I've been unhappy with how much the rear squats when towing an enclosed car trailer (I use a weight distributing hitch), and a bit displeased with how the truck handles bumps, dips, etc. For whatever reason, Ford installed a weaker leaf spring pack on this truck / model (one fewer leaf spring than on earlier model I owned with a 7200 lbs payload capacity). In general, maybe because of the FX4 package, maybe because of the smaller wheels on this truck than my older F150 (18" vs. 20"), there is much more range of uncontrolled motion in this 2018, and much more bounce and jarring over uneven pavement. In my opinion, the rear leaf spring pack and shocks -- on this truck -- are not well matched. After considering air bags or an auxiliary leaf spring, I contacted Etrailer and chatted with a rep, who guided me to this Roadmaster unit. The rep was very helpful and took the time to discuss how I used my truck in order to determine the best option for me. Since I do not tow frequently (12-15 x per year), and my tongue wait varies between 600 - 700 lbs, the Roadmaster seemed to be a good middle-of-the road option over air bags, which require constant monitoring (not a big deal if you use your truck all the time). I wanted a "set it and forget it" option, and the Roadmaster was designed to be just that. The units installed very easily (I have access to a lift), the instructions are clear, and there's a very helpful video available on Etrailer's site. Most importantly, the ride smoothed out immediately as compared to stock. I set the units for the maximum payload increase rating (40%), which raised the rear end enough that the truck now looks a bit like a late '60s - 70s American muscle street rod (not a look I was trying to achieve), but the ride is far superior to stock. The truck no longer bounces, jars, or deflects to any significant degree, but the ride remains supple and smooth (I know, strange description for a truck). This is not to say that the stock ride quality was generally bad, but it certainly needed improvement for my tastes and needs. Unfortunately, I've not had the opportunity to tow with the auxiliary springs at the time of this review, but I am certainly optimistic that the ride height will now be level, and the ride quality improvements will be retained while towing. This is a good product, well made and supported, and Etrailer was a pleasure to work with. Very helpful sales representatives, fast shipping, and good customer support. 538434

Big improvement in my trailer towing. I have an F150 and tow a 36' 9000lb travel trailer. My trailer is on the larger size for my truck and these springs have corrected the trailer sway I was experiencing. Easy to install and I have them tightened to the 40% additional load spacer which did raise the rear of my truck by an inch. So I've also had to readjust the WD hitch settings, which may need some minor tweaking. But this suspension kit is working as advertised by reducing the trailer sway. Now my wife can relax a little more! 515597

2016 Ford F-150 XLT 4x2 - We would get a gallop when we would be towing our travel trailer and after reading several reviews for the Roadmaster Active Suspension System we decided to purchase the system. Just like most of the reviews it took more time to jack up the truck and remove the wheels then it was to install the system. It did raise the bed of the truck about an inch. Anyone who owns a late model F-150 will tell you that it rides just like a sedan. It was no different after the installation. I did take a short drive with the trailer attached and it was a smooth ride (no gallop). At this point I would consider this a success. The one thing that I would like to point out is if you have the same F-150 model that I have I would purchase RAS3611-B not RAS3611-Y. The “B” model has a block that covers the emergency brake bracket on the passenger side install. 754937

I live in Canada, on Vancouver Island, and I have say how good etrailer's service has been. These arrived within a week, and although shipping isn't free to Canada, it is not at all unreasonable. I installed these on my 2015 F-150 to help with the sagging we were experiencing when it and the travel trailer we pull are fully loaded. While I haven't had a chance to test them with a full load yet, I am really pleased with the ride and handling of the truck while empty and I have them set to the maximum setting. Finally, they were super easy to install! 725649

Easy to install after the learning curve, first one took 45min and the second took 15min. I had installed inner fender-wells and they clear these with no alterations. Installed with the 25% disc which raised the truck 1". The ride is smoother and more stable on the turns. Load the truck with 1300lbs of feed often, I'll update soon after I do that with the squat and ride results. 723234

I made a mistake when I ordered my part. They corrected my mistake and the right part still came the same day the other part would have shown up. Great customer service! 666220

  • Adding Suspension Helper Springs to Reduce Sway on a 2017 Ford F-150 Short Bed
What kind of trailer are you towing? The best thing to use to prevent sway is a weight distribution system with built in sway control. If you are interested in that then let me know the gross trailer weight if it is a travel trailer (bumper pull). If it is a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer then there is no sway control for those. For your truck though adding some suspension enhancement will help some. Roadmaster active suspension # RAS3611-Y is a good option because it does offer some...

  • How to Eliminate Porpoising when Towing Trailer with 2018 Ford F-150
I have a great solution to the porpoising and bounce you are experiencing when towing with your 2018 Ford F-150. I recommend taking a look at the Roadmaster Active Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-Y if you have a 4WD or # RAS3611-B if you have the 2WD model. This will essentially convert your truck's leaf springs into a mechanically active suspension system. It will drastically improve the stability and control of your ride as well as eliminate that porpoising...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2016 Ford F-150 4x4
The Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit # RAS3611-Y is the correct fit for your 2016 Ford F-150 4x4. This is a mechanically active system designed to eliminate the bounce you are experiencing. It will allow adjustment for the best fit on your truck but doesn't require any additional adjustment so it doesn't need to be changed for when loaded or unloaded. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-117-47 are also a great option to eliminate the bounce by helping to level...

  • How do I Pick the Right Roadmaster Active Suspension Enhancement Kit for my 2018 Ford F-150
We can get this figured out! The weight capacities stated in the description is the amount of weight that these springs will support. These will not add capacity to your payload or the amount you carry but instead take some of the force off of your factory suspension decreasing wear and tear on the system helping it to last longer. In my experience it also helps the handling characteristics of the vehicle by reducing the body roll of the truck. The Roadmaster Active Suspension Custom...

  • Suspension Helper Springs to Reduce Sway on a 2020 Ford F-150
The best suspension enhancement kit for your 2020 Ford F-150 that is going to help reduce body roll and sway as well as give your truck the added support it needs is the Roadmaster Active Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit. The reason this kit is superior to the rest is because it is what is known as an "active" system, which means that it is constantly reinforcing your F-150's original leaf spring suspension. Because of where it installs (see accompanying photo) the force...

  • Why Is Less Tension Needed On A Weight Distribution Hitch When Used With the RAS for a Ford F-150
The Roadmaster Active Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit like part # RAS3611-Y for your 2018 Ford F-150 only works when enough weight is placed on the vehicle's rear suspension for the leaf springs to flex. If you are using a weight distribution system then the amount of flex that is applied to the vehicle's rear suspension will be minimized because this is transferring that weight to the front axle. Therefore, if you have the tension on the spring bars too high then it would...

  • Recommended Roadmaster Active Suspension On 2014 Ford F-150 For Travel Trailer w/Weight Distribution
On your 2014 Ford F-150 STX, I recommend the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit # RAS3611-Y if you have a 4WD truck or the # RAS3611 if you have a 2WD truck. This system easily installs over your leaf springs to improve the stability and control of your factory suspension. The mechanically active system eliminates porpoising caused by wheel hop. This adds critial strength (2,000 lb capacity) to your leaf springs without compromising ride quality. It instantly absorbs and disperses...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2017 Ford F-150 with B and W Turnoverball Installed
For your truck we do have a solution that allows suspension enhancement to fit with a gooseneck or fifth wheel rail kit installed like the B and W # BWGNRK1115 you have but the air bag kits won't fit for the reason you mentioned. The mounting brackets interfere with the hitch brackets. Instead you would want a RAS kit like the part # RAS3611-Y which is a fit for your 2017 Ford F-150 and since it attaches to the vehicle on the leaf springs and not the frame it fits just fine.

  • Adjusting Road Master Active Suspension on 2013 Ford F-150 Crew Cab Short Bed for Towing 5th Wheel
The Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit # RAS3611-Y is a confirmed fit for your 2013 Ford F-150 Crew Cab 4x4. To properly tension your spring, the black disc (2 mm thick) and the white disc (1 mm thick) are used for a gauge between the spring coils. The white disc is used to improve your factory suspension handling and 25% additional load capacity. The black disc is used to improve handling and 40% additional load capacity. This is according to page 4 of the instruction sheet which is...

  • Would Two Suspension Enhancement Kits Help 2018 Ford F-150 Towing a Trailer
In general you don't really need two sets of suspension enhancement on a truck like yours. The RAS kit part # RAS3611-Y will help give you more suspension support but if you are finding that even with the air bag kit you need more support you probably are towing beyond the capacity of the truck. A bigger advantage would be achieved with a weight distribution system as it takes and distributes some of the trailer tongue weight up to the front axle of the tow vehicle which helps with...

  • Is There A Slight Lift On The Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit
I reached out to my contact at Roadmaster Suspension and they verified that with your 2017 Ford F-150 unloaded the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit # RAS3611-Y may give you anywhere between 1/4" to 1" of height. Depending on how the truck is loaded, the extra height may vary. Just a reminder, the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit is not designed to give vehicles more height. However, you may get more of a height increase just because there is an added product on your vehicle.

Since ride quality when you're not towing with your 2018 Ford F-150 is a concern I recommend the RAS kit # RAS3611-Y. It fits the 4-wheel drive F-150. RAS systems fit on the factory leaf springs to strengthen them. • Which Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit Fits 2016 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab
For your 2016 Ford F-150 the Roadmaster Active Suspension kit part # RAS3611-Y is the correct fit and will help you tow your trailer level. But since you already have a weight distribution system I would verify first that the system is rated for the amount of tongue weight your trailer has and that it's set up properly. WD systems have tongue weight ranges and ideally your trailer tongue weight (including weight of any cargo behind rear axle) falls right into the middle of that range.

  • Will Roadmaster Active Suspension Hurt Ride Quality of 2012 Ford F-150
Roadmaster Active Suspension states emphatically that their systems like the part # RAS3611-Y will not affect your unloaded ride quality. Since this spring rate is progressive on this kit for small bumps the system would not be activated enough to cause a harsh ride. It will work to prevent body roll around corners which is nice, so it will improve the handling of the truck. The # RAS3611-Y is the correct kit for your 2012 Ford F-150.

  • Spacer and Adjustment for Use with RAS Spring kit for 2015 Ford F-150
720 lbs of tongue weight is a solid amount for a 2015 Ford F-150 so going with the 40 percent spacer on the # RAS3611-Y that you mentioned would be the way to go to get the support needed for leveling the truck when towing. Beyond that though you are going to have to use some trial and error to further set the tension needed. It won't take long or be overly difficult but the amount of further adjustment can only be determined by you once you are all set up and ready to tow. If you check...

  • Wil Roadmaster Active Suspension RAS3611 Y-2 Affect Ride Height of 2017 Ford F150
Unloaded, the Roadmaster Active Suspension # RAS3611-Y will provide a negligible increase in ride height, up to one inch. When loaded, they will substantially reduce the amount of sag in the rear suspension. This system is an excellent solution as it addresses numerous suspension woes, such as axle wrap, wheel hopping, sway and body roll, among others. This system isn't compatible with Raptor models.
