Note: When servicing your truck with Air Lift air springs installed, if the truck is lifted by the frame, the air must be let out of the springs. And if the rear of the truck is lifted during service, then it must be supported by jack stands to avoid damage to the air springs.
The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup air springs that are easier to maintain.
Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.
By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.
The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.
The air bags also have Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which protect the air springs and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.
The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.
Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.
This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (one for each spring). These are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.
Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove and return them for a full refund.

Easy to install fits properly. Directions are pretty clear. Happy so far haven't had a chance to pull the trailer yet.
Solid fit. Good product.
This product is great! Easy to install with very good instructions. I tow a 44' long 5th wheel with a F350 with these lifts installed and the truck drives great with no sagging at all! I would recommend installing this lift for anyone who plans on hauling heavy loads.
I am a 63 year old retired refrigeration mechanic and a DYI guy. These were easy to install an are working good took out the sway when my camper is on I also purchased the frame mounted camper tie down
I was able to install myself and after spending four months with our Lance 960 on board they are great. They are a great compliment to our 2022 ford F-350.
My wife and I did the install in 3hr 55min. We stopped a lot to double check our work and check the instructions. A couple minor things there. Tighten the large washer at the start. It's easier than trying to tighten it later. And the picture shows the washer is tight and against the edge of the lower strike plate but the instructions don't agree. We followed the picture.
We brought the schrader valve up to the fuel compartment. Used a few extra zip ties to help maintain the curves in the air line. Made a short run to our dump, almost 10 miles round trip. I'll inspect it tomorrow and retighten everything. In 4 days we'll take the camper for a short trip. A shake down of sort.
I've now had an opportunity to tow my 40’ fifth wheel camper several times and there is a significant difference in the ride and handling of the truck. I installed these on my 2024 GMC 3500 without any trouble at all. My only negative comment relates to the Tee for the airlines. The video posted states the package includes the Tee, but that is not the case. I had to purchase that separately including additional shipping cost. That was disappointing considering it likely costs less than $2 to manufacture!
Installed loadlifters on my 2022 gmc one year later still going strong after towing around the country.
The installation was almost seamless.
Just one wrinkle. The written installation instructions has one significant step that does not match my F-150. Fortunately, etrailer had a video for my exact model and I was able to quickly make the correction.
Three are three slotted holes in the base mounting plate, for two bolts.
Written instructions show to use the middle and rear-facing slots.
Video correctly showed to use the middle and forward-facing slots.
This was installed on a 2021 Chevy Express 2500 van conversion by Explorer Conversion Vans. Explorer installed an Eaton rear suspension and it was not up to the task of a heavy conversion van. I think the air bags help but I will need to upgrade the shock absorbers to eliminate some of the bounce from the air bags. There were three primary issues with the installation:
1) The parking brake cable bracket is in the way and has to be cut off the axle. I attached the parking brake cable clamp to one of the Air Lift bolts using a nut. This is not something every at-home installer can do.
2) The air hose is barely long enough. I specifically asked how long the hose is because I wanted to route it where the future compressor will go and was told there is enough to go around the entire vehicle. That is incorrect. I will have to replace the hoses at my cost when I upgrade to the onboard compressor system.
3) The etrailer video says to drill the mounting holes to 5/16" diameter. The 3/8"-16 bolts immediately stripped out. I should have drilled the holes to 9/32" diameter.
I have bought a lot from etrailer and I will purchase from them again. Most of my issues stem from the poor design and instructions of the Air Lift product. For example, it doesn’t say anywhere on the box or product literature how much air hose is provided.
Easy to install. The added stability and lifting capability is very noticeable. I've installed Air Lift Loadlifter bags on the front and now on the back. After a year of heavy use I have zero issues. Thank you for the great service and product!
These bags are excellent! They take only seconds to fill with a little battery powered air compressor. These are used on a Ram 1500 where my camper and car carrier make it squat. I just hitch them up, and then add air to regain level. That easy.
Air Lift Loadlifter 5000 did exactly what I wanted! Made it so I had no worries or sagging after hooking up my camper to it. Would recommend to someone looking to solve the same issues.
ordering was easy with prompt delivery.
Installation was not bad at all with the good instructions.
Truck ride very nice, well worth the money I spent.
Would recommend to friends.
They were easy for any handy guy to install . It took about 2 hrs. They lifted my 2500 ram to sit level with my 37ft. 5th wheel. I even leave them as is, when I'm not hooked up, and don't notice a difference. I ran two separate lines to near my rear license plate, no compressor. I'm glad I didn't spend that extra money. You rarely change the pressure, and it's so easy to do.
This was the 1st negative experience that I've had with etrailer in several purchases. The score is a reflection of the customer service and not the product itself. The box arrived severely damaged and there were parts missing. Spoke with an etrailer rep and she said they would have to reach out to Airlift to get the replacement parts shipped and send me an email when they did. Been a week and have not heard a thing back. Most of the missing parts were nuts and bolts I could find locally, but there was also a missing bracket piece. Luckily it was just a rectangular (3/4"x1"x about 5") block of aluminum with a hole drilled in it. Ended up fabricating the piece myself by buying some flat stock iron 1/4"x1", cut 3 pieces to length, welded them together, and drilled a hole in it. Luckily I have access to the needed equipment to fabricate this piece so I could get the product installed in time to pick up a new camper we just purchased. I won't abandon etrailer after 1 strike, but it was a disappointing experience.
The product/products are fine, but the shipping sucks. A while back I ordered a hitch receiver that took over 2 weeks and when it arrived the box had a hole in it an no product inside. I learned my lesson and ordered these airbags with expedited delivery which was supposed to be one day but took six days. I had to reschedule my appointment to have them installed. I dont know if the problem is on trailer's end or USPS, but it is unacceptable in this day and age.
Installed on a 2024 GMC Sierra Crew SLT with rear poly mono springs. This worked great and the install was easy. It took me about 2.5 hours on a 4 post lift, but you could do it in the driveway if you needed to. I reached out to airlift to make sure it would work on a vehicle with mono-springs and they were not 100 percent sure if it would. So I took a chance and it worked flawlessly!
These air springs have worked well. Installation, although not easy, was straightforward enough for this experienced DIY mechanic. They have reduced "porpoising" when towing our 5K+ lb. travel trailer.
