Plug came in today, light did not. I ordered from here because it said both would be here Friday. Called company. Was told I could return light but would have to pay fee, because promised arrival date was a guesstimate.

by:

This is a nicely designed product. My only disappointment was that the wires could have been longer, perhaps 12 or 18 inches longer so it extends to the trailer harness better and is more visually appealing.

by:

I rewired my light bar for my boat trailer with the items I purchased. Before I built the the light bar, every time I used my boat trailer I would waste valuable sailing or fishing time repairing faulty lights. The do not last long when you submerge them in salt water. This light bar now version 3.0 have given little trouble over the years

by:

Great product.
Works well when I had
a broken connection on my 4 way plug end on my light-up hitch cover I bought from y'all a while back.
Always a happy customer.
Thanks, George.

This product will be an additional backup item. I used the other Easy Pull connector, but on my truck end the flapper door is spring loaded and puts too much downward pressure on trailer connector. Maybe that's why original trailer connector had a broken pin.

Thank you, and everything still working great. I still browse your site checking out items.

by:

item came as expected and is exactly what i needed -a trailer connector that will resist fraying at the point where the wires meet the connector ,nice and strong at that point, will last years instead of months.

its still the best ever ...will replace old wiring that has frayed or prevent such from occurring

by: 04/13/2023

It is as described, nothing fancy but gets the job done

by:

I actually got the idea from a trailer I rented once. You permanently mount this somewhere behind the coupler where it won’t get damaged and use an extension. It’s a lot faster and easier to replace a damaged extension wire than to solder a new plug onto your trailer wiring if(when) it gets damaged. I used mine on a 4x8’ utility trailer that I pull with my truck on the road and with a utility tractor off road, you don’t have to worry about the wiring for the lights hanging down dragging the ground getting damaged, you just remove the extension and put the weather cover on it when you’re off highway and don’t need the lights.

Shawn B. (& everyone I talked with at E Trailer) was wonderful.
Great phone support. Great products. We did a great job installing the wiring harness.
Made me wonder why we originally took it to a "professional" trailer sales & service place in Ogden UT. They hacked into our wiring & created problems.
I will continue to be a grateful customer.
Finding good people who know their stuff in todays world is a soul healing event.
Thank you E Trailer!

This was the perfect replacement for the old connector on my boat trailer with 18-guage wiring and 16-guage ground. Replacement was very easy. I just cut off the old connector and splice this one in its place using heat shrink butt end connectors. Fits very snuggly into my vehicle side connector, unlike the old connector I replaced.

by:

quality item, much better than the plug that came on my trailers wiring harness, hence the need to replace it. Soldered the new to the harness and covered with heat shrink. Fast service and better quality than offered at the big box stores. well worth paying the shipping charges.

by:

With the help of an internet video, I joined this and a seven-pin female to create an adapter to connect my newly-purchased car to my travel trailer. It allowed me to get the trailer home pending a more permanent wiring change for the car. I was very pleased.

by:

Sturdy plug, I like that it has a cover. Doesn't come with connectors like some of the others do, so be sure to order those, too. I used 3M snap, butt connectors would've been less bulky for the location. Shipped quickly, as always. Love Etrailer!

by:

Ordered two Enhanced Trailer Connector.
They
arrived on time, and met all my expectations
Thanks

Work on the advertised

by:

Great connector. Easy to use, environmental cap will be great to prevent pins corroding. Make sure you buy splices because product does not come with them. All in all, a great and easy product to use and install.

Adding dielectric grease to the connectors can be a big help at prevent corrosion on those contacts.

by:

Purchased this wire harness and the plastic cover has stayed intact protecting wires from weather. After 1 year it's still workin great.

by:

This is the one to buy. We hook-up and unhook our trailers on a daily basis. The wiring takes a beating. This product is fantastic. It has been reinforced around the housing and the base of the wires. The rubber on the side are excellent. They will have to keep our drivers from tearing the wires from the housing.

by:

High quality product available at half the price or more than other merchandise providers. eTrailer's ordering process, shipping, timely delivery , and customer services were on target.

by:

I bought this for my utility trailer, the weather proof cover for the plug is a nice touch and should help keep the pins from rusting.

by:

Comes with documentation about wiring and a grease packet to put on the contacts to prevent corrosion. Wires are black with a colored stripe for identification per the documentation in the package.

Good sealed connector. Having the functions marked on each wire is great...no worry about color coding differences between different vintagesmodels of trailers or vehicles.

by:

A common problem with flat connectors is the ability to get a grip on them as you try to engage or disengage them. The ears on this one allow for a much better grip.

by:

Received the 4 wire flat pigtail after a couple days and wired it to the other component and it all worked great. Would definitely recommend this to others. I had to replace an old damaged part with this exact match.

by:

Good product. Clearly marked wire pigtail (in multiple languages), perfect fit to OEM 4-pin harness and a nice braided sleeve.

by:

Excellent product and well thought out. It even comes with a small, but adequate, bit of dielectric grease- nice touch!

by:

As stated. Well made

  • What is the Wire Gauge Used in Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48110
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48110 to measure the wire gauge. The ground wire is 16 gauge and all other wires are 18 gauge. this is adequate for trailer lighting functions since they don't have to carry anything that draws a lot of amperage such as brakes or a 12 volt circuit.

  • How to Identify Wiring Configuration on 1964 Aladdin Travel Trailer
Since trailer wiring colors can vary the best way to determine the correct wiring configuration to match your vehicle's 4-pole flat trailer connector is to do a simple test on the trailer. All you need to do is use a spare 12V battery or the (one in the vehicle) to apply power to each wire to see what function is activated. White wires are usually ground so connect the trailer's white wire to the battery negative terminal and then one by one connect each of the others to the positive terminal....

  • How to Connect 6-Way Flat on Trailer with 4-Way Flat on 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata
I do have a solution for you, however there is not currently an adapter available that will allow the 4-way on your 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata to connect with the Bushtec 6-Way flat on your trailer. What I recommend doing is simply cutting off the trailer 6-Way and installing a 4-Way like the Hopkins # HM48110 that will be compatible with your tow vehicle. You can use a 12 volt battery to test each pin on the existing 6-way to determine their function, then simply connect the appropriate wires...

Based on the information you sent, it sounds like you do not need a converter and only need a regular trailer side 4-way harness. I recommend the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector, Item # HM48110, for your 2004 Ranger and trailer. Based on your information, it sounds like the white is ground, the black is tail lights, and red is brake/turn signal for each light. When you connect these to Item # HM48110, the yellow wire will be left turn and brake, the green wire will be...

Yes, the Hopkins replacement 4-way part # HM48110 that you referenced would work well as a replacement 4-way for your utility trailer that you damaged the 4-way on. You would just need to splice it in the same way as your previous connector was wired.

The 6- pin connector you sent in a picture of is not a standard trailer wiring connector so it sounds like an alternative solution was provided by the shop you went to. Easiest solution will be to cut that off and install a standard 4-way to match the vehicle. For that we have the part # HM48110 that would easily wire to your current trailer wiring.

  • Correct Vehicle and Trailer Side Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector
The Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector part # HM48110 is a trailer side connector which is designed to be installed on the towable. If you're instead looking for the vehicle side which is designed to be installed on the tow vehicle then you will need the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector part # HM48030. These harnesses both require splicing whether you are just replacing a trailer connector or wiring one for the first time.

Since motorcycles use combined wiring, meaning that the brake and turn signals run on the same circuit, when switching the plug we will set up the trailer's wiring in the same way. • Can a European 7-Way be Connected to a US Spec 7-Way Trailer Connector
We do not have an adapter to go from a US style trailer connector to a European 7-Way. My recommendation is to leave the wiring harness on the vehicle and put a 4-Way flat on the trailer. You would need to cut off the Euro 7-Way and in its place use # HM48110 or similar trailer side 4-Way. The functions are white is ground, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn and brake lights, and green is right turn and brake lights. When using this converter on a trailer like you want to, you would not have to use diodes. I have included a picture that shows how it would wire up. Essentially you would mount this converter on the trailer. The trailer would need a regular 4-Way flat connector like...

Yes, you can just remove the wires from the trailer's existing connector and attach them to the new 4-Way, # HM48110. • Getting UK Thule Bike Rack Lights with 13-Pin Connector to Work with a US 2014 Ram 1500
As you probably know bike racks in the UK have to have lights on them. In the US they do not. So you could either not have lights or you would have to change either the connector on the bike rack or the one on your 2014 Ram 1500. I strongly advise changing the connector on the bike rack because it will be easier and less costly than changing the one on the truck and it will also keep your truck standard with the 4- and 7-Way connectors in case you need them for something else. • Options for Towing a Trailer with 7-way with Vehicle with 4-Way

For that you could use the part # HM48110 to wire in the 4-way. Or you could just use a 7-way to 4-way adapter on the trailer like the part # 30717 and just tape up the extra wires that wouldn't be used.

If the trailer is setup with either of those functions, you will need to change the 4-way on your 2009 Flex to match the trailer. I recommend part # 37995.
