Curt C96GJ Wiring Kit Compatibility With Factory 4-Pin On 2025 Ford Ranger

The description of this part is Curt T-Connector. However, I am not seeing any Tinch connector. Just the single connector that plugs into the factory harness. The problem is that there is already the factory 4-pin connector plugged in. I am wanting to keep the 4-pin, and add the new 7-pin because I have multiple trailers. I was expecting a Tinch connector to plug them both into the harness. Is something missing from this kit?

Hey Gary, thanks for reaching out. No, nothing is missing from the # C96GJ kit. Curt uses the term “T-Connector” pretty broadly for a lot of their plug-and-play harnesses, even when they are not a true tee-style splitter like you were expecting. On your 2025 Ford Ranger, this kit plugs directly into the factory trailer wiring connector and provides the new 7-way socket assembly, but it does not include a separate tee adapter that lets the factory 4-flat remain plugged in at the same time.
If you need to tow both 7-way and 4-flat trailers, I suggest picking up an adapter like part # TS57RR. It's just a simple adapter that plugs into the 7-way and has a 4-flat connection on the other end.

Hey, if it helps you should see the first review on here from Harold where he describes taking apart both the OEM 4 pin connector and the Curt and repinning them, since all 24+ Rangers have unified wiring to the rear and there is absolutely no reason that anyone has indicated for Curt to have built them split out and unpinned. You can use this Curt harness and fully pin it, then buy an OEM 7/4 plug to install in the bumper cutout, then you have a factory style install. I am currently doing this on my 24 STX. I do believe the red wire will still need to get spliced or snap locked onto the wiring going to the brake light, which is the only compromise. Bit more work than I would like, but I don't see any better solution Why Curt and Ford won't sell a simple fully pinned harness, I can't understand.
