Optronics STL22 Series Miro-Flex Oval Sealed Tail Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Recessed-Mount Light

Recessed mount light

Recessed-mount trailer lights install underneath a grommet (A70GB - sold separately). These lights will extend into the mounting surface and require that a hole be cut into your trailer.

Video Transcript for Review of the Tinted Miro-Flex LED Trailer Tail Light

Today we are going to take a look at Optronics Miro-Flex Sealed 6-1/2 LED Stop, Turn, and Tail light part number STL22CCRB. This light provides the three basic tail light functions running light, brake light, and turn light. It utilizes a crystal clear lens and a red color chrome reflector. Inside are 10 LEDs that draw a total of .181 amps at 12.8 volts. Its designed to flush mount against your trailer using a grommet that wraps around the light. On the back you will find a port for an industry standard three prong plug to make your electrical connections.

Well go ahead and snap in our plug and hook the light up to a power supply so you can see what it looks like when it is lit up. We will be using our white wire for ground, our black light for our running light circuit, and finally the red wire for brake and turn. White to ground, red to brake or turn, and finally black for our running lights. Here you can see our running light is active and now well add a brake or turn signal. Now we will turn off the overhead lights so you can see what it looks like in the dark.

Again we have our running lights active, and theres the brake and turn. And thats it for Optronics Sealed 6-1/2 LED Stop, Turn, and Tail light part number STL22CCRB. .

I got these because the original ones were a single bulb theses are much brighter. I also got a 7pole to 4 pole adapter my old one got squashed I went to 5 different places and no one had it checked on etrailer and there it was I ordered it and it was in my hands in less than a week as you see I taped it together so I never have to search for it. one other thing I got was a chrome led license plate light I had replaced mine with a original plate light from the trailer company twice and they keep breaking I think it was because they were black and you couldn't see it with this one being chrome it sticks out and being led it is much brighter and it cost less than the original one

Great set of lights and they shipped within two hours of ordering. Look great on my flatbed dodge. Only problem was, I was not aware I needed a resistor to use them on a vehicle but it's no big deal. I will be ordering a pair of resistors and more trailer lights soon based on customer service alone. LED reverse lights were great too

Installed the resistors and no more hyper-flash. The lights look and work well. I have ordered other products from etrailer and the customer service is great and I have recommended them to my friends and family.

I have got a lot of compliments about how good looking a light they are and they even stand out when they not on as well and that a look I was going for..so if you want something different than everyone else don’t hesitate buy these.and the price is great too so your not breaking the bank by purchasing them. A+++ rating

I bought LED lighting for my trailer and some stern hold downs. Everything fit perfectly and work beautifully. I've been very happy with my products from you guys and will definitely use you again when I need more parts.

by:

I made this purchase for my son's boat trailer. I ordered on the Monday before Thanksgiving and it arrived the day before. Everything arrived as expected and well packed. He can't wait to get this installed!

by:

These are replacements for my enclosed trailer and they are considerably brighter. they are even more stylish than original Bulb type. Took about 5 minutes to replace using same original grommet mount.

by:

Just got the lights this morning & they look great. I will install them this weekend and am hopeful that they will work as good as they look.
Your website is very easy to use, descriptions and videos leave no doubt as to what you are purchasing . True pleasure in doing business with etrailer.com!

by:

Ok the lights are awesome. One thing they didn’t show or explain very well is these in fact get brighter when they are hooked into either the turn or the brake with the running light. The thing they don’t show is the difference in how bright it is between running and then brake/turn. The difference is huge!

by:

Worked as expected. Not only brighter than the original incandescent lights but the Optronics Miro-Flex product looks great even when not lit.

by:

The lights look great. Very bright when connected. They are going to be used on a trailer I am building. Will be extremely satifsfied once fully installed

by:

Communication from start to finish were impeccable with etrailer, even with stocking delay of two items and items were delivered together ahead of schedule. Will gladly do business with etrailer in the future.

by:

These are going to look great on my Haulmark motorcycle trailer. Can't believe how fast I got them.

by:

bought these lights before looks great in headach rack bought two more to put in rear bumper

by:

Looks good ,bright led's , easy install, 2 trips down the ramp and one is full of water already, bummer

by:

works as intended

by:

Great light worked perfect easy to inst all.

by:

these lights look good in my headache rack

by:

The size was right, and the brightness of the LED light, let's people know there is a trailer in front of them, especially when braking, or making a turn

by:

Much brighter than my previous tail lights. Easy to install. Would definitely buy again!

These side markers (both red and amber LED) are great for my 12' trailer. They have 3 LEDs (you can also get 4), and their size is perfect for a small trailer. The LED's are really bright, not only at night, but also during the day, so they are easily seen. I especially like the fact that they are sealed, so there should be no water intrusion problems in the future. I have included a few pictures, the first showing the round LED brake/turn/running/reverse lights (that I had purchased earlier from etrailer) with the red side marker mounted vertically on the outside. The second shows a side view of the red side marker light, and the 3rd picture shows the side marker mounted to a small piece of 1" X 1" x 1/8" aluminum angle which I painted black to match the mounting frame of the round LED lights. I mounted the LED side marker to one leg of the aluminum angle, then mounted the other leg with 1" standoffs to two holes already present on the black mounting frame of the round LED light. Although all the lights are sealed against water intrusion, I decided to mount them on each side of the trailer at the top of 2 PVC pipes, about 36" long each, where the lights would not be exposed to immersing in water when launching/retrieving a boat.

I installed these lights in a T@B teardrop camping trailer. The grommet would not work on this style trailer so I installed the lights using a silicone adhesive the same as the original Peterson lights. eTrailer delivered them in the same timely manner I have come to expect from them and the LEDs were easy to install. These lights are blindingly bright - simply amazing. I had rear lights with 1157 bulbs which I had upgraded to 2357 bulbs and equipped the tow vehicle with a powered converter but the light output was dim by today's standards. These lights are twice as bright on running lights and about 4 times brighter on the brake/turn signal elements. The thing we all fear when towing is being hit from behind by a driver that does not see our running, brake or turn signal lights in time. I know these lights will vastly improve the safety and visibility of our trailer. Thanks!

by:

love etrailer. They are fantastic!

by:

Great little lights, and very bright as well. They have been installed on a trailer and submerged many times since installed, and still work great!! Can't beat LED's for brightness and, hopefully, longevity!!! Attached is one picture of the overall trailer, and a closeup of the amber side light. I also have 2 red sidelights that are mounted above water at the rear of the trailer, and they are still working great as well.

  • How Deep is Trailer Tail Light # STL22CCRB with the Wiring Pig Tail Plugged In
You will want to do a little measuring to determine if there is space enough for light # STL22CCRB. From the face of the lens to the back of housing where the plug goes is 2-1/4 inches deep. With the plug installed it adds about an 1/8 of an inch. To be on the safe side you could measure back 2-1/2 inches to determine if there is room. I have linked a video review of this light for you. The correct grommet is # a70gb and for a 90 degree wiring harness use # A47PB.

  • What Size Hole to Mount Optronics 6-1/2 Inch Oval Taillight # STL22CCRB
The # STL22CCRB lamp you referred to is typically mounted in a grommet, like part # A70GB, which in turn is mounted in a bracket like part # 337LB1SS. If you were planning on cutting a hole to mount the lamp and grommet, the hole will need to measure 6-3/4 by 2-1/2 inches, as you can see in the diagram I provided. The easiest way to cut the hole would be to use a 2-1/2 inch hole saw, and cut two holes 6-3/4 inches apart (measured outside-to-outside). You could then use snips or a rotary...
