The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
This light has an industry-standard PL-3 connection as pictured above. The light accepts a 2-prong plug (A45CB or A49PB - both sold separately). The plug connects to 2 of the points on the PL-3 connection for power and ground. And the plug covers the unused third point on the connection to seal it against dirt and moisture.
Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

After a year of using these in the saltwater as backup lights for my boat trailer they are still going strong
Fits very nice on 2008 Ranger Bass boat. It was not necessary, but I chose to trim a bit of the original hole to make it bigger for centering reasons. Looks like it was made with it when Item #a70gb is added.

Reverse lights are brighter than expected and look great on my trailer. I hope these are more theft resistant than the press in lights that came with my trailer. Overall much better lights than factory. As always etrailer delivers the best!
