Some of the light units were not in any type of packaging at all. And the license plate holder light would only light two of the five LEDs in it. I am returning the entire order because m, 1, bad packaging, 2, license light is defective, 3, the quality of all products is not up to speed with the RV 5th wheel coach I wanted to put them on. It’s a 2019 35 foot unit and I want better quality equipment installed onto it. 596609

We installed two lights on a ramp for the rear of our car. They were so simple to install and they are very bright. Great product! 147110

Install was straight forward. Seem more durable than the factory lights were that started burning LEDs out within a year of purchase 877574

Lights arrived in great time and condition . Installed them yesterday without problems. My only suggestion is to include some instructions for those that have no knowledge of wiring. 863144

Exactly as advertised. I ordered two of these lights for my mini-camper. As with all my other items that I have purchased, they were delivered in excellent condition and in a timely manner. Very pleased. I haven’t installed them yet, but other LED lights I have ordered from ETrailer have been great. 857852

About half of the diodes lit up. Not what I was hoping for. But my time was worth more especially since I was so busy moving that I didn't find it worth sending them back and wait for a replacement when by then the move would be done. 856203

Comments
Thank you for your review. I recommend to check the ground of the light to make sure it has a solid ground to the clean bare metal surface of the trailer or the main ground of the trailer.

So far so good. Lights came a day earlier than predicted and in good shape. I plan to install them (stop/turn/tail on a boat trailer hopefully to prevent some "texter" from rear ending my boat motor. I did test the light with a battery and they seem very bright and that's what I was looking for. 798694

Approximately one year ago, etrailer.com assisted me with the procurement of 2 Optronics Streamline LED Trailer Tail Light - Submersible - 3 Function - 11 Diodes - Red Lens, Item # STL79RB. The items arrived swiftly, were easy to install and of smart weather proof design. The metal grommet at the surface mount screw holes IMO is great, as there is less of a chance to over tighten the screw and compromise the polycarbonate housing. The lights have remained dependable through all types of weather in the last year. 793432

  • Recommended Parts and Wiring for Adding LED Lights to Aluminum Cargo Carrier with Ramp
Thank you for all of the helpful information! I do have a few different options for you to add LED lighting to your scooter carrier that resembles the MaxxTow 27x47 Cargo Carrier # MT70100. You can definitely use the Optronics Streamline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL79RB with wiring like the Hopkins Endurance # HM38134 by just using heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-5. Since your carrier is aluminum you will need to cut off the eyelet on the ground wire and splice it to the white...

  • Compatibility of Optronics Streamline LED Trailer Lights for 2018 Grand Design 220RK 5th Wheel
You can absolutely remove the factory tail lights and replace them with a style you prefer like the Sealed, Streamline LED Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, 3-Function, 11 Super Diodes # STL79RB. These are designed to be used as a replacement light and not simply an additional light, but they can be used for either purpose. I've attached a video of this installation for you to assist. There is an optional chrome base used only for the look that works with this light. It is # A79CB...

  • Recommended Lights to Increase Visibility on Hitch-Mounted Bike Rack
The Optronics Sealed, Streamline LED Trailer Light # STL79RB referenced in your question will work to provide an additional light on your bike rack, however there may be easier options. You might have trouble mounting the light assembly to the rack itself and the 3-wire design will not allow for easy disconnect when you are not using the bike rack. For an easier option, I recommend looking at the LED Light Kit # 98174LED. You can easily mount these to your bike by using the Mounting...

  • Can 3 Function LED Light STL79RB Be Used for Stop, Turn, and Tail Lights on Both Sides of Trailer
Yes, the # STL79RB 3-function LED would work for stop, turn signal, and tail light functions on your trailer if you installed one on each side. If you look at the back of the light, you will see three wires, as pictured. To install the lights, the white wire, equipped with a ring terminal, will be connected to a clean metal surface on the trailer frame, the black wire will be connected to the tail light circuit, and the red wire will connected to the brake and turn signal circuit....

  • Adding a Third Brake Light to a Small Camper Trailer
You could use light # STL79RB as a third brake light. Normally it is not recommended to mix LED lights at incandescent lights because the lights don't have voltage/amperage regulators and an incandescent light could draw too much power through an LED and burn it out. But it would work fine in this case because in order to have a third brake light you would have to separate out the combined turn signal/brake light circuits to get a dedicated brake light only function for a third brake...

  • How To Wire A Third Brake Light On A Trailer
To get a third brake light on your trailer I would recommend the Optronics Sealed, Streamline LED Trailer Third Brake Light, 1-Function, part # STL80RB. This can be wired to your trailer using the Tow Ready Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, part # 118158. To install the tail light converter # 118158 on your trailer you will connect the wires on the input side of the converter, white (ground) to the trailer frame, green wire to green wire on your trailers wiring, and yellow wire...

  • Which Wires Should be Tapped Into When Adding Additional LED Marker Lights on a Boat Trailer
In order to add LED lights that shine on your boat at night, they will need to be wired into the running light wire or wires on the trailer. On a typical 4-Way flat, it is the brown wire coming from the trailer side connector. To be certain, you can use a circuit tester like # 40376. With the trailer connector and vehicle lights on, probe the wires coming from the back of the connector until you find the one that is hot all the time. You can trace this wire back to where you want to...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights that Turn and Brake Doesn't Work When Truck Running Lights are On
What you're describing is typically a ground issue. But you've checked the grounds so it must be a short. You might try cleaning each ground connection just to be sure if you haven't already. Next I would clean both connectors on the tow vehicle and trailer. Also use a circuit tester on the vehicle's connector to make sure the issue is definitely on the trailer. If the problem is on the trailer trace the wiring back to the lights looking for any damaged or pinched wires. If the...

If your LED strips only have a power and ground wire then they only have one illumination intensity and would not work for what you are trying to do. I would un-install them and go back to the wiring setup you had previous for now. Your best option would be to get the 3-Function LED Bar part # STL79RB that you referenced as this is specifically designed for what you are trying to do. • When Installing Optronics Streamline Stop/Turn Light # STL79RB Which Blinker Circuit Should be Used

The white wire, with the mounting eye, is a ground wire that needs to be connected to a metal surface on the trailer that is electrically grounded like the frame. • Using Vehicle To Vehicle Taillight Converter # 118158 to Provide 3rd Brake Lamp on Trailer
The Tow Ready # 11858 is essentially a reverse tail light converter. A trailer used what we call a combined tail light system, where the signals for the brake lamps as well as the turn signals are carried on the same circuit. The # 118158 reverses this process, by separating the brake lamp signal from the turn signal circuit. To install a 3rd brake lamp on a trailer, the # 118158 is exactly what you would need.
