Optronics MC67 Series Red Sealed Marker Clearance Trailer Light Dimensions

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

PC-Rated Lights

Diagram of light spread for PC rated light

A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.

Video Transcript for Optronics Sealed Thin Line Two-Bulb Trailer Clearance Light Installation

Today on this enclosed trailer, we're going to install part number MC65RB. This is a sealed, thin-line, 2 bulb trailer clearance light from Optronix, in red. This will also apply to part number MC65AB. This is the same sealed, thin, 2 bulb trailer clearance light, but in amber. Now, to help us with our install, we'll also be using part number A65PB: black racket and single wire plug for thin line series trailer clearance lights. First off we get rid of the remnants that are on the trailer right now. Let's go ahead and pry off the remnants.

Then, what we need to do is drill these 2 rivets. Typically, there's going to be some screws holding this in place. In this instance, we obviously got rivets. Typically, quarter inch drill bit will work. If they start spinning, need to grip the edge here to keep it from spinning around.

. There you go. Needle nose pliers, or in this case I'm using my strippers, just enough to hold it. Let's go ahead and get rid of the old base, which is actually the same part number as before. We'll pull out some excess to give us some working room. We'll cut it off down here at the base.

Now we'll go ahead and strip; we'll leave a very small butt connector. Usually 1 for 22 to 18 gauge will work just fine. Also, this would be a good candidate for solder as well. Now we'll get our new base ready, and you can see it has a type of bullet connector on there. We're just going to go ahead and basically cut that end off.

We'll also need to see how much wire we need. So we're going to do is approximately lay this in the middle. We'll put a little extra in here. It'll cut of our excess. We'll just lay it out, see what we need. Go ahead and cut and strip our wire, just like we did last time. . We'll go ahead and lay out a wire like we had. We'll go ahead and put a butt connector right there. Then we'll go ahead and line this up. We got this open area here that will line up with this hole. Let's go ahead and push our excess back in; kind of hold it in place while I push it. Line it up. Now we'll go ahead and line up our pre-existing holes. Now, we're using rivets in this case. Once again, you might have some different type of fasteners. You definitely need a rivet gun to do this. . Peel off the sticker covering the contacts. Now our base is installed. Let's go ahead and install our new in-line light. What I like to do is go ahead and line up and push it into place, but don't fully install it. That way, I can double check my wiring. Sometimes, you take these on and off, those ends get a little bit fragile. Let's go ahead and apply power. Okay, once we're satisfied everything's working, we can go ahead and push it in place for good. With that, that'll finish it for part number MC65RB; the sealed, thin line, 2 bulb trailer clearance light and our black racket for single wire plugs in the thin line series clearance lights: part number A65PB. .

I ordered four of these MC65RB side marker lights as spares for my Cargo Mate trailer. They arrived in perfect shape. They are a suitable replacement for the old part number 1A-V-1260 running lights that came on my cargo trailer. I have installed one already and it works just like the old one. I would recommend these lights to anyone, 216347

A year has gone by and the light I installed still operates perfectly. A quality product.

A good replacement part. I bought a pair of them and they work just fine. I like the LED technology. At night they are bright. However, I like to turn my running lights on during the day, when I think they could be a bit brighter. 711416

- MC65RB

In the process of detailing my 2003 motorcycle trailer to get it looking good again. Clearance lights needed replacement. The original red lights were now faded pink for goodness sake! Replaced all 20 lights with the thin-line red and amber side marker lights. Replacement couldn't be more simple; remove original lights, snap in new. Exact fit and everything worked perfectly. Now, once the new tires and wheels get here we'll be in good shape! The new lights definitely make you say, "no way that trailer's 15 years old" :-) 549338

Ask the Experts about this Optronics Trailer Lights

  • Clearance Light Recommendation that are 3-7/8 inch x 1-1/4 inch x 7/8 inch
I believe the Clearance Light part # MC65RB would be the correct light for you. The difference in length is about .1 of an inch which would be close enough. Especially since these look exactly like what you have and the other dimensions match up. The amber version of this is part # MC65AB. Fort the amber/red version you would want # MC65ARB.

  • How To Order Trailer Lights
To order trailer lights you will want to order by part number on your lights or by the size of the light you will need. The SAE stands for the Society of Automotive Engineers and the 97 DOT stands for the Department Of Transportation. These part numbers are usually on the lenses of most all trailer lights. You will want to get a Brand name (Bargman, Peterson, Wesbar) and the part number (40-38-001, 154R, 221902) that is on your light to be able to get the correct light for your trailer....

  • Replacement Boat Trailer Clearance Light with SAE P2 91 DOT on the Lens
The number on the lens that you see is the lens rating, not a part number so it is difficult to go by that number. There might be a part number on the back of the light housing. Otherwise it would be easiest to go by the dimensions of the light. For example light # A91RB does have the same lens rating. It would use a base such as # A91BB and wiring harness # A91LW for the power wire.

  • Trailer Clearance Light Replacement
Those part numbers are for trailer clearance lights, and the main difference between 1a-v-1240R and 1a-v-1260r is that the 1240R is a led light, and the 1260r is a incandescent light. Both lights have red lenses and are 3 7/8 inches long, by 1 1/4 inch wide. We do have replacement lights that will work in both styles. For an led red marker light you can use Optronics Thinline LED Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MCL75RB. For an incandescent light use Optronics Incandescent...

  • What is the Difference Between a P2 Rated Light and a PC Rated Light
We actually have a handy help article, linked to the right for you, that explains this and other helpful information on trailer lights. Below is an excerpt: The light beam emitted from a P2 or P3 light spreads out 45 degrees to each side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side of the trailer. When mounted square to the front, sides, or back of a trailer, this kind of light provides...

The clearance lights we offer are not exactly the size you mentioned but these may work well for your trailer. I recommend part # AL82AB for the amber lights. • Recommended LED Clearance Light that is Red and Amber
The Optronics LED clearance light that is similar to # MC65RB, but will be amber and red, is the Optronics LED clearance light # MCL65ARB. This light is sealed, waterproof and is a surface mount. The dimensions are 3-15/16 inch length by 1-1/4 inch width by 7/8 inch deep. You will need a bracket and plug like # A65PB to complete the installation of the Optronics LED trailer light # MCL65ARB. • Replacing Optronics Thin Line Incandescent Trailer Light with Thin Line LED Trailer Light
You are exactly right. Changing out your # MC65RB incandescent lights for new # MCL75RB lights will simply require removing the existing light and snapping a new light into the same housing. Both of these lights use the # A65PB bracket. If any of the brackets on your trailer need replaced you can use the # A65PB as a replacement, but the LED lights will not require any different base than the incandescent lights. I have attached an installation video of the # MCL75RB light for you.

  • Can I Use Optronics LED Light # MCL75RB in the Same Base as Light # MC65RB
Yes, both the Optronics lights # MC65RB and MCL75RB use the same mounting base, so the # MCL75RB lights will snap into your old bases. You will then need to wire in the lights, with a power and ground connection. Part # MCL75RB is a sealed LED light light and will burn brighter but draw less power than part # MC65RB. Both lights use either base # A65PB or # A67CB. See the video that I shot showing both lights.

  • Comparing Black Bracket and Single Wire Plug A65PB and Plug n Go Bracket A65PBPG
For the Black Bracket and Single Wire Plug, # A65PB, the plug on the end of the one wire is different than that on # A65PBPG. The plug n go style on # A65PBPG is easier to attach to the MC65 series of lights, like # MC65RB, because the cable is molded around the connector. This also covers any exposed wires that would normally be present like on # A65PB.

  • Troubleshooting 5th Wheel Trailer Clearance Lights Blinking with the Turn Signals
When using the brake and turn signal at the same time, you are drawing more power then just with running lights. Since some of the LEDs blink, they may inadvertently be attached to the turn signal wire on the trailer. Most trailers have one wire that carries both turn signal and brake light functions and one wire that carries running lights. I would check to make sure the correct wire is run to the new clearance lights. An LED clearance light like # MC65RB will have two terminals or wires....
