The hitch went on TERRIFICALLY on my 2002 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. I did have a little bit of trouble aligning one of the bolts (the one furthest to the front on the passenger side to be exact), in which was most likely due to a solid rear-end collision I experienced in the past, but it was nothing some help from a rubber mallet couldn't solve. As far as quality, the hitch felt completely solid and rigid, as it should obviously. The coating that is proudly advertised provided a clean, black and polished look that was applied evenly across the entire piece. Even with the issue of the previously mentioned bolt, the hitch remained completely centered and concealed once all of the bolts were tightened and torqued. For quality and fair pricing, I'd say this was probably the greatest purchase one could make for a class IV trailer hitch receiver. 525804

Recently, I purchased several items from etrailer.com and was completely surprised at how easy the entire process was from selecting the correct parts for my 1997 Ford F150, to delivery and installation. Here's a quick rundown of the items I purchased: C14355 - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" 3035-P - Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers; 90885 - Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional; 118242 - Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way; 18138 - Mounting Bracket for 7-Way. Every item was received in perfect order, was easy to install, and looks great! Thanks etrailer.com! 146875

Good product for the money. Quality seems as good as the factory unit it replaced. It does not have provisions to mount the factory trailer receptacle bracket, but that's a somewhat minor issue. 869561

This was probably the easiest install of anything I have added to this truck and everything fit perfect done in 15 minutes by myself! longest time was getting the spare tire out of the way. This truck normally pulls a gooseneck which was a more difficult install but still not too bad. Need to pull a car trailer and this works perfectly. I am very happy with the fit, finish, and weld quality of this receiver hitch 854290

The hitch arrived in record time. It was a couple of days before I could install it. Took the old hitch off that was worn out new one was bent a little during shipping so the last bolt hole didn’t line up. Just took a few swings with the 8# mallet to straighten it out. Other than that it was a good easy installation and instructions were easy to follow 828671

I ordered this hitch to replace mine which had started to rust through and I was concerned it would fail. The other reviews on this hitch indicated it would fit perfectly on my 2004 F250. They were correct, not a single issue! I installed it by myself but it would be much easier with a second set of hands. I don’t have anything to tow yet but I’ll be ready when the time comes. 811401

Ask the Experts about this Curt Trailer Hitch

  • What is the Mounting Hole Spacing for the CURT Trailer Hitch # C14355
I spoke with my contact at CURT about Trailer Hitch # C14355. From side to side, the holes that would be furthest forward on the truck are 34 inches apart on center. The 2 sets that are at the end of the hitch are 33-11/16 inches apart on center. Front to back, the two closest holes are just a hair under 2-1/2 inches apart on center. From the middle hole to the furthest away hole on center it is just a hair over 11-1/8 inches. I have included a link to the installation instructions...

  • Rearmost Bolt Hole Dimensions for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 1999 Ford F-250
It is true that the center of the rearmost bolt holes for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14355 measure 32-11/16" on center, but since these bolt holes are oblong this trailer hitch will still fit your 1999 Ford F-250. If you note in the attached photo I show that the oblong holes range from about 32-1/8" at the closest part to about 35" at the the furthest part. Since your frame measures 32-11/16" it will fit just fine as the bolts you use for the installation are 1/2" bolts.

  • What is a Deep Drop Bumper? How Do I Know If I Have One?
A deep drop bumper is also known as a cowboy bumper. It is taller than a regular bumper, and would use a receiver that is lower than what would be used on the same vehicle that was equipped with a standard bumper. If you click on the provided link, you can see our Bumper FAQ article that will explain it in full. If your 1999 Ford F series has the cowboy bumper, the # C15316 would work great for you. If you have the standard bumper, # C14355 would be a better choice. This hitch will...

  • Vehicles Suitable for Using Hitch Motorcycle Carrier with Total TW of 650+ Pounds
Most passenger vehicles have a tongue weight (TW) capacity - TW is downward force on the frame - that usually ranges from a low of about 150-lbs up to about 500-lbs. Larger pickups that have a much higher towing capacity will naturally also have a higher TW rating since their frames are built to be much stronger. TW for a hitch is usually rated at 10-percent of the towing weight limit for that hitch. For example, the 2-inch Class IV Curt hitch # C14355 has a tow rating of 10K and a TW...

  • Vehicle Fits for Reese Hitch 89002 and Correct Hitch for 2003 Ford F-150
My contact at Reese confirmed that the part 89002 is a ball mount made for a 2-1/2 x 3/4-inch rectangular hitch opening that was for applications only on 1984 through 1995 Chrysler and Dodge minivans. This item fits no Fords at all. For the 2003 Ford F-150 we offer both rear-mount hitches and front-mount hitches, each shown on their own respective linked pages.
