It’s beefy and solid. The mounting bracket square holes had to be cut in a smidge and he added two more support bars.. but all in all. My welder said it would tow 11-12 k. Not the 16k I was told. But hey. I’m okay with that. There was a shipping issue which forced me to reschedule a few things, that is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I am supper happy with how it turned out.

The hitch looks good! The hitch itself is rated to tow up to 15,000 pounds however it is limited to the frame and or bumper capacity that the hitch is welded. So if the RV is only rated to tow 11,000 pounds then that is what you would want to go by.

by:

Very happy with this hitch. The size of the end plates matched the frame on our old truck and with the class V weight rating, our old truck can do a few other things around the farm now. Thank you.

Great product. Fast delivery

by:

I called to ask what was the inside dimension of the big square and it was said to be 4 1/2" square, that wasn't even close, it was 3 5/8" square.
But I was lucky I needed 3 1/4 square. I'm modifying this to fit my fisher plow bracket so I have a front hitch to use around the yard. Nobody makes one. I own a machine shop so by getting this saves me a lot of work. So by receiving the wrong info I rating you less than EXCELLENT

by:

What a great hitch for a great price. I attached this to the rear of my Freightliner FLD-120. What a beast! The perfect hitch! Thanks

by:

Easy installation and after one year of heavy use, still going strong!

by:

Heavy duty hitch. Easily installed. However I am a welder fabricater with 30 years experience.

by:

This is a very heavy duty hitch. Haven't gotten it mounted yet, but looks to be of good quality.

It is very well built and the powder coating is very tough, took a good grinding to get it off for the welds. Good price as well. I used it for my 2006 Bounder 35E, not because it was a high rate hitch, as I did not need one, but this was the only one that would lower the hitch to a more normal height from the ground. The old hitch was so high a 10" deep was not enough to use a trailer parallel to the ground. Now I can hook up a lot easier and not worry about scraping. Looks good too.

by:

Great quality product from Curt . Can be easy installation depending on the application.. mine more difficult because of aluminum alloy frame, so will have to do some reinforcing.

by:

attached this hitch to my 1984 American General 5 ton military truck. Had to do some modification to air lines and drill a few holes but it is perfect for pulling civilian trailers with the M 813.

by:

I put this on my 03 Freightliner Columbia. It does everything I want it to. It is bolted and welded.
I like it so much that a bought another one and put it on my old school bus. That one is just bolted on.

by:

Extremely high quality product, very happy with my purchase. Shipped quickly, I received it before the estimated time. One more side note, the shipping box was damaged while in route, (Not etrailer's fault) but because they did a great job packing it, everything was still in the box even though half of one side was torn off the box. I will defiantly be a repeat customer!!

by:

Perfect fit on my 2009 blue bird

by:

Added (welded) to our diesel pusher Motorhome and have no issues and really no worries while towing whatever we feel we need while camping.

by:

Fast shipping

by:

Well, I really respect the fact that they waited for one year before asking for a review, they offer a 2 inch and a 2 1/2 inch receiver the 2 1/2 inch receiver would obviously be a larger rectangle to accommodate a half an inch, the vertical uprights I received had holes pre-cut to accommodate a 2 1/2 inch receiver I ordered a 2 inch receiver, needless to say, there was an abundance of slop, half inch gaps, requiring a lot of fabrication on either side of the vertical uprights, knowing this now, going with the 2 1/2 receiver should have saved a ton of unnecessary fabrication time.

by:

I think you guys should send me some ap parel!

Exactly what we wanted. Worked perfect on our recent, extended trip to Alaska and back.

We have a couple options for a heavy-duty Class V hitch, and while there is not a custom-fit option for your Thor Challenger motorhome on a Ford F-53 chassis, you can still add a weld-on hitch. From my research, the rear frame on the F-53 chassis is 34 inches from outside to outside, but you'll need to measure the distance you need from the bottom of the frame to the top of the receiver. Once you know that, you can choose from any of the following Class V hitches: - 3" Drop From Frame:...

For that kind of capacity you're going to need a universal weld-on hitch like the Curt Class V # 15902. This fits frames from 18" to 44" and has a gross towing weight of 15,000 lbs and tongue weight of 1,500 lbs. If your frame is larger you can use the # 15903 which fits frames up to 60" instead. Make sure to consult your owner's manual for your towing capacity. You will be limited by whichever capacity is lower.

  • Hitch For 2015 Freightliner 3500 With 30-3/8 Inch Frame
The only possible option for your 2015 Freightliner 3500 with a 30-3/8 inch frame is a weld-on universal hitch, the Curt Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch and Brackets with 10.865" Drop # 15902. This has a crosstube that measures 44 inches so you need to make sure you have the space under the frame for it to fit without interference. I cannot recommend just using spacers for the Curt hitch, and I would not be able to tell you why the 3500 has different dimensions.

We definitely have some options that will work for you, though in regards to the specific hitches you asked about, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15300 is 36 inches between the bolt holes, while the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15410 measures 34 inches between the bolt holes. So neither is going to fit 34 inch wide outside-to-outside frame rails, which makes sense as these are custom-fit hitches. As custom bolt on hitches are not made for Class-C motor homes you will need an adjustable one. A typical Class-3 hitch will have a top tongue weight capacity of around 600 pounds. A higher class hitch will have much more capacity. Since you prefer to have 800-1000 pounds of capacity I would use the Curt # 15902 Universal Hitch with brackets and an almost 11" drop.
