With the SuperHitch Original's 2 receivers, you can tow a trailer and carry a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. And if you have a truck bed camper, this hitch has pre-drilled mounting points for TorkLift's super-sturdy camper tie-towns (sold separately). You can also add one of TorkLift's SuperTruss hitch extensions (sold separately) to extend the top receiver of the SuperHitch so that it clears your camper, allowing you to tow your trailer while your camper's installed.

Truck Bed Camper Compatibility

TorkLift is known for their truck camper tie-down systems and other camper accessories, so it just makes sense that they would have camper enthusiasts in mind when designing a trailer hitch. Each SuperHitch is built with integrated mounting points for TorkLift camper tie-downs, making it easier than ever to get a quality tie-down system for your slide-in camper.

TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

The dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch also makes it easy to tow with your truck bed camper in place. The SuperTruss line of high-capacity hitch extenders is specially designed to extend the hitch receiver back far enough to clear your bed-mounted camper, while still allowing for an excellent towing capacity. An ordinary hitch extender can dramatically reduce your towing capacity. But each SuperTruss extension forms such a solid connection with the SuperHitch that the setup is able to maintain one of the highest weight capacities in the industry. When used with a standard weight distribution system, the setup can maintain up to a 10,000-lb weight limit, even with an extension that is 60" long. As a result, you can clear almost any truck bed camper and still do some heavy-duty towing.

Dual Receivers for Maximum Versatility

With the SuperHitch from TorkLift, you can tow your trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. This is thanks to the dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch.

Most trailer hitches have a single receiver. Typically, you can find an adapter or extension piece that will slide into your hitch to give you 2 receivers, but these adapters dramatically reduce both your towing capacity and your tongue weight, limiting how much you can tow, as well as how much you can carry with a bike rack or cargo carrier. Each SuperHitch is specially constructed to maintain a high weight capacity so that you can use the 2 receivers without sacrificing towing or carrying ability.

Video Transcript for TorkLift Trailer Hitch - Custom Fit Hitch - TLF1002 Review

Today we're going to review part number TLF1002. This is the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is a custom-fit receiver. It does come with the dual two-inch receivers. This heavy-duty hitch will let you tow heavy loads, even with a hitch extension or weight distribution system that we sell separately. It is specifically designed to maintain the high-weight capacity when used with your TorkLift accessories.

As you see here, it has the dual vertical-stacked receivers, which will letyou to tow a trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike or cargo carrier at the same time. These receivers are compatible with your industry standard wall mounts and hitchaccessories. This hitch is a truck camper-friendly TorkLift design. The reason we say that is, if you'llnotice, for video purposes I attached the end plates that go onto yourtruck and then the crosstube attached to it. If you look on these end plates, right here at the very ends, there's holes drilled in the ends of them. Those are pre-drilled holes to accept the TorkLift camper tie-downs that we sell separately. Also, the dual hitch design will allow you to use the TorkLift SuperTruss extensions that we sell separately.

They range anywhere from 21 inches in length to 60 inches in length. What that'll do is, when you install that, it will extend your hitch receiver out to clear your bed-mounted camper, if by chance your camper would extend over the rear of your truck bed. The other nice thing with the TorkLiftSuperTrussextensions are because of the way they installthey use both receivers. There's areinforcement tube on the bottom and then the regular on top. Then it has the chains and turnbuckles that you can adjust to tighten it.

When you install it that way, it will maintain the higher weight capacities that you don't normally get with a hitch extension. Usually if you just use a regular hitch extension, it sticks into the single receiver and extends out without any support. It willreducethe weight capacitiesby about 50 percent. If you use the TorkLift SuperTruss that is designed to install on this hitch, it will maintain those higher weight capacities. This hitch is made of a sturdy steel construction, has a high penetration, dual-shield welding to ensure strength and durability. I'm going to turn this to show you right where the hitch pins are.

You can see right around them on both sides and on top and bottom. There's sort of a raised area. That area is actually reinforcedandisalsoahardenedmaterial.Whatthatdoesaroundthepinholeswillhelpprevent elongation wear. Basically if you use the receivers and the shank is in it, the hitchpin is in it, as you drive and it moves back and forth, it actually ends up, the hitch pins move and start wearing and that hitchpinhole elongates it. What they've done to eliminate that problem isthey have reinforced it and hardened it around the hitchpinholes. This is a bolt-only installation. There is no welding required. I just want to show you, to give you an example here, I attached these end plates to the cross tube to show you what it looks like installed, but I could not put these bolts in all the way. The reason that is, let me try to get one out here and show you. Basically if you look at the bolt itself, it has a thicker shoulder. On that shoulderare splines. Basically what happens is, when you go to install this, what you would do is go ahead and start this, tap this end so that the splines start. Then when you put the nut on it andtighten it down to torque specs, the Torkwill pull that bolt in, and the splines will engage the cross tubing and the end plate and willkeep that bolt from rotating or any chance of moving. It gives you a nice, secure connection between these end plates and the cross tube. This all has a black, powder-coat finish to help resist corrosion. Also if you look on this bottom plate by the bottom receiver, there's the safety chain loops, whichare built in. Attach your safety chains fromyour trailer to it. Comes with the two hitch pins and the clips as you can see on installed. You can use hitch locks, which we do sell separately. Does also come with the mounting hardware and these two brackets that will install on your vehicle on these end plates. This part is made in the USA. It is custom-fit for your vehicle. It is a class 5 rated hitch, which means the maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 15,000 pounds. Maximum tongue weight capacity is 1500 pounds. If you do use this hitch with weight distribution, it will increase that maximum gross trailer weight capacity to 17,000 pounds and the maximum tongue weight capacity to 1700 pounds. The cross tube itself is a 3.5 by 3.5 squaretube. It does come with a lifetimewarranty. That should do it for the review on part number TLF1002, the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver. .

The product was received quickly and complete. This solved a need for a 48" extension rated at 600# tongue and 6000# tow weight without an equalizer hitch. I have an F350 with a Lance Camper in the bed that extends a couple feet beyond the back of the bed. Depending on the mission, I tow a Toyota FJ, loaded onto a Demco Tow Dolly with surge brakes, for off road exploring or a Wellcraft Excalibur 230 boat, also with surge brakes, for lake outings. Drivability with both is rock solid with this hitch and extension system. 651185

The superhitch was very easy to install with great instructions. The hitch worked great with my camper and extended 48” torque lift stinger for pulling my boat. Super happy with the product and glad I bought it. 572787

2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

The unit was easy to install. It's a great product. I like the fact that it's in 3 pieces which helps the "do it yourselfer" with installation. The hitch got here in a very very timely fashion. As a matter of fact it had got here a day early. I'm very satisfied with the hitch and the service I received from E-Trailer. I will be buying all my products from them in the future. Thanks E-Trailer! You made my life easier. 516024

2004 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Heavy duty hitch upon comparison to OEM hitch on my 2004 F 250 Super Duty that came with the factory towing package. Install was simple and straightforward as per easy to understand directions. Only difficult part was removing OEM hitch as Ford used some tough type of heavy duty lock-tite on the OEM hitch bolts. Had to heat nuts/bolts with a torch to melt lock-tite in order for my air impact gun to loosen the bolts. 461400

Ford F-350 Super Duty

Very solid, well made, heavy duty hitch. We bought this to use with the three foot extension to pull our boat when the slide in camper is mounted in the truck bed. We mounted this on an F350 Super Duty dually. Super heavy duty construction and fairly straight forward installation. The folks at Etrailer are very helpful. Someone is always available to answer questions and their shipping is almost instant. You can order with confidence from these folks and they have many videos to walk you through installation of many of their products. Happy customer here! As soon as I find some photos, I will post them. 323946

  • 42" Hitch Extension for TorkLift SuperHitch on 2014 Ford F-350
  • There is not a 42" extension available for the factory 2" receiver on your 2014 Ford F-350. To add the 42" TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1542 you will need to install the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLF1002 on your truck in place of your Ford OEM hitch.

  • For a hitch extender that sits between 41 and 48 inches out and is compatible with a 2 inch hitch receiver you will need to use a TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension like part # TLE1548 which is 48 inches long. These extenders work great but they are only compatible with the TorkLift SuperHitches, like part # TLF1002 which fits certain years and models of Ford Pickups. • Best Bike Rack for use With TorkLift SuperTruss on 2016 Ford F-350
  • That is an interesting situation; your TorkLift # TLF1002 and SuperTruss 42" Extension # TLE1542 are a combination not often used for bike racks. The use of a bike rack rated for use behind an RV would be your best bet, though there are no 5-bike racks or tilting racks rated for use behind an RV. A 5-bike rack on a 42" extension is going to be very rough on the rack and is not something I recommend doing. Your best option is a 4-bike RV-rated bike carrier and I recommend the Yakima...

  • The TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension, part # TLE1548 is designed to work with the SuperHitch original, Magnum, or Hero trailer hitches. using the extension in any other manner or without a second receiver tube would void the warranty and may cause an unsafe condition and I cannot recommend doing that. If you wan to put the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch on your truck you can use part # TLF1002. This is a Class V trailer hitch that has dual 2-inch receivers. You can then...

  • Can I Extend My Hitch Without Using TorkLift Hitch and SuperTruss Extension
  • The only other extension option we carry besides the Torklift SuperTruss extender that does not cut your tongue weight in half is an extra long ball mount. Traditional extensions such as part # C45796 cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on the truck in half because it creates extra leverage and movement in your towing setup. The only extra long ball mount we offer that is long enough for your setup is the Hidden Hitch ball mount part # 80232 at 15-3/4 inches long. That length...

Instead you'll have to install the Torklift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch # TLF1002. Then for a 42 inch long extension that will work with this hitch you'll need the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1542.
