Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2012 Ford E-350 Van

I may buy 2012 e350 ford cargo van. I will be be towing a 6x12 Haulmark Cargo trailer. Which hitch would you recommend for this vehicle and purpose.

Expert Reply:
The towing capacity for a 2012 Ford E-350 Van ranges from 6,300 to 7,400lbs so you could go with a Class III hitch like the Curt # 13055 (6k capacity) or you could go a bit higher to a Class IV hitch # 14055 (10k capacity) to ensure that you can use your van's full capacity.
As a reminder, you have to go with the lowest rating whether that's your vehicle or the trailer hitch. This means that if the van's capacity is only 6k but you put a 10k hitch on you'd still be limited to only 6k towing capacity.
If the van doesn't already have a trailer wiring harness installed then you'll also need to pick up the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118551 for a 4-pole connector. If the trailer has brakes then you'll also need to install a 7-way # ETBC7.
