It has almost been a year for the hitch we installed on a van and a truck with no issues we pull heavy trailers dumpers / equipment trailers this is a good strong Receiver
Easiest installation ever. Fit perfect on the 2020 GMC Savana Cargo Van.
Etrailer has been amazing regarding customer service. The Curt part on the other hand is less than par. The design is excellent. Very well built hitch. Very stout. Construction os off however. You only need to drill two holes. To open up a 1/2” hole to 9/16” hole. Easy and quick. Problem....front most 3rd hole on both sides don’t line up with the existing van frame holes. Holes were off 1/4”. Having to drill out 1/2” holes in that location is more of a challenge as the you are drilling stacked steel that don’t line up. Please advise Curt to adjust hole placement. After all, Curt part #13040 is a perfect fit.

Kelvin - 05/26/2020Very heavy duty hitch. All 3/8 steel. This is my second one on a differant vehicle. The only problem is i had to grind some steel away on hitch, for my hooks on chains to fit.
This hitch is very heavy duty and very easy to install. I bought it for my Express 3500 just to pull a pop-up camper with the potential to one day get a larger camper. However, it also came in handy when I needed to pull a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel in my 24' cargo trailer 700+ miles. I never once had any problems with it. If you want to get a hitch that far exceeds towing capacity for this vehicle, one you never have to worry about, truly this is the one. With all the necessary tools ready (drill, bit, wrench, socket, torque wrench), I had it on in about 30 minutes; easy install.
Went on really well, just had to clean up the frame holes on the van, one front bolt required minor prying to pull it down through the hitch (install the nut flange side down, use a jack & wood block under the hitch rail, pull it down with a pry bar, flip nut & torque on). Didn't need air tools, hitch is FAR stronger than this 1 ton van's frame could ever handle-it's a beast hitch, for sure! 2011 Chevrolet Express 3500.
Great fit. The chassis holes lined up, but needed a slight reaming. Took less than 30 minutes to install.
I watched the helpful video on line , it made the installation easy knowing what to expect. Took about 30 minutes to mount the hitch , it fit like a glove . Very enjoyable installation knowing the little tips instead of learning on my own. The hitch is solid and well constructed, my vehicle can’t tow what the hitch is rated for , but the tongue weight rating is what I was interested in. I have a hitch hauler which can hold up to 600lbs, this hitch just adds confidence to what I will use it for.A++++
Mark - 08/21/2021Sal was great, got the order out same day FAST. Arrived right on time. The items were exactly what I needed to get my Van together for towing complete with hitch and wiring harness.
Very easy installation. Looks extremely strong. Shipping was fast and free. I should note that I did have to drill the holes for the 9/16" bolts a little bigger. The bolts wouldn't fit through the holes in the frameof the vehicle. This was on a 2017 Express 2500.
Outstanding products and impeccable customer service
I really like the hitch and all the helpful videos that etrailer has for the products they sell. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the paint on the hitch in a couple of spots was worn off in the box not a big dea. I will just do a little touch up painting. Wrapping with foamy packing sheets would of helped. Installation required drilling on my 2019 GMC Savana 2500, two holes larger and elongating 2 more. The drilling was not mentioned on the instructions from Curt. I wish companies would be more accurate with instructions so their customers do not waste time and frustration. Thank you etrailer I will buy from you again.

Well-made [hitch]
I received my Curt class 5 hitch today, I opened the box and was pleasantly surprised to find it in one piece. The instructions said for pros install time 30 min. For DIY 40 mins. I must be some kind of super pro because after drilling two holes to 9/16 the total install time was under 15 minutes. The only way this could have gone easier is if they had sent someone in the box (with a beer) to install it for me. Tip in drilling out the frame to 9/16. Go to harbor freight tools and buy a cheap step up but, only a couple bucks, drill and toss.

Didn't spend more than 15 minutes to set it, looks exactly what's show in the pictures, been doing great in my Chevrolet Express 3500
This hitch has cured some major problems for me. I don't use it to pull a thing, Mine is used to carry a power wheelchair. That wheelchair weighs 458 lbs. then add the weight of the lift and you have some serious tongue weight plus the leverage of the wheelchair hanging out the back is a problem even for a standard class V hitch. My GMC Savana Handicap Van came with an OME Class V. Th hitch was installed incorrectly at the factor, they did not put the washers under the head of the Hitch Bolts which dug into the frame and caused it to crack. GM refused to cover the damage because of using it to carry a Wheelchair. (YES they did that!) The OME hitch also broke because it had a bad weld so the replaced the hitch but fixing the frame was on me.
I had the frame rebuilt and beefed the frame-up. I went with this hitch because it could carry double the Tounge Weight. It has worked perfectly for carrying the power wheelchair.
Remember Just because you have a factory warranty does not mean GM will fix your vehicle!! They didn't mine!
Cover yourself not to have a problem, get this hitch and double the Tonge weight on whatever you are going to haul or pull.
This was worth moving up on the hitch!
So far so good. Easy to install. Other Curt products I've used have been ok.
Great product! Easy installation even for those that are not mechanically inclined. The installation videos walk you through the step by step process making a great reference.
This literally lifted and bolted into place. The directions were spot-on and the hitch is well-constructed and finished.
Hitch is heavily built and works great. Had a little trouble with alignment of holes on installation but nothing a drift punch couldn't correct. The holes for clipping on the safety chains have too large of an edge margin for smaller clips. We had to add some clevis items for the smaller trailers.
Just a few bolts and it's on. Heavy duty. One thing is the saftey chain connection points are too thick for normal S hooks. You need a threaded caribeaner type chain loop to fit around the connection point for your chain S hooks to hook on to properly.
