Expert Reply:
The Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets - 2 inch Receiver # 15903 will work on your 2001 Ford E450.
The trailer hitch has a black powder coated finish that helps resist rust and corrosion. It has a strong, secure weld-on attachment. The maximum gross trailer weight is 15,000 pounds and it has a maximum tongue weight up to 1,500 pounds. I would recommend checking your vehicle's manual to find the proper towing capacity of your vehicle.
The side brackets fit frames from a minimum of 18 inches to a maximum of 60 inches. The bracket height produces a drop of 11-1/2 inches from the vehicle frame.
All welding surfaces must be cleaned to bare metal or the weld will not be the required strength and may void the warranty.
