Video Transcript for What to Know About the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing

Today, were going to review part number 387A. This is a Redline Outer Trailer Wheel Bearing. These replacement bearing are high quality, tapered roller bearings designed for high-speed use. All bearings will have industry standard numbers regardless of the brand. This one right here, if you look on the inner ring, itll be stamped part number 387A.This roller bearing will consist of three parts. The inner ring or cones, which is this part, right here, the tapered rollers and the roller retainer or also the cage, which holds the rollers in place. The critical measurement when replacing your bearings on your trailer is the inner diameter of the bearing.

Youll want that to match what you have on the spindle of your trailer right now. The inner diameter, and when you measure it, its pretty hard to measure with just a ruler or a tape measure. Youll most need a digital caliper like we have here because most measurements are carried out to thousandths of an inch. In this case, the inner diameter, when we measure it, lets turn it over this way, when we measure, that would read 2.250 inches. This outer bearing does use an outer race, which is not included. It would have to be, it is sold separately.

That would be part number 382A. The critical measurement on the outer race is the outer diameter, which on that race for this bearing would be 3.813. That should do it for review on part number 387A. .

  • Replacement Brake Assemblies for Dexter 10k Axles on Gatormade Trailer
We have what you need! Thanks for the photos. Even though the serial number is torn from the axle tag, we still identified the brakes you need with the Unique ID Number 124394998016 from your 10k Dexter axle tag. I confirmed with my tech at Dexter that you need the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" # 23-450 (left side) and the # 23-451 (right side). These are direct replacements of brakes constructed for your 10k Dexter axles on your Gatormade trailer.

  • Determining Replacement Hub And Bearings For Dexter P-12 SLR Trailer Axle
I can definitely help you find the correct replacement hub and bearings for your Dexter P-12 SLR axle, but since part of the serial number was unreadable you will need to take a few simple steps to identify which bearings your axle uses. The easiest way to accomplish this is to remove one hub and look for the numbers stamped on the inner and outer bearing like shown in the attached picture of the # L44649. If your bearings are too worn to be able to read the numbers, you will need digital...

  • Parts Needed To Covert Electric Drum Brakes On Triple Axle Texas Pride Car Hauler To Hydraulic Disc
I was able to determine that your 9,000lb axles on your Texas Pride Trailer will accept the Dexter Axle Oil Hub # 008-430-03. It uses the same Outer Bearing # 25580, Inner Bearing # 387A and this will use the Oil Seal # 10-51 which is the same 2.875 inner diameter as your grease seal. You will need the Oil Cap Kit # RG04-270 for the new hubs. And the Kodiak Synthetic Bearing Oil # XLPROLUBE can be used with all manufactures. • Recommended Brakes, Bearings and Seals for Dexter 10k General Duty Axle
I reached out to Dexter and found that your axle is a 10,000 lb general duty axle. The correct inner bearing and race is the # 387A and # 382A, the correct outer bearing and race is the # 25580 and # 25520. For a replacement seal you want the # 10-51. For electric brakes I recommend the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 10K # 23-438-439. These are self-adjusting brakes so there will be no need for manual adjustment. I have attached...
