Features to know about

Perfect Fit Every Time: 1.99" Outer Diameter Precision

Ever struggled to find the right dust cap that fits just right? With an outer diameter of 1.99 inches, these TruRyde dust caps nestle snugly into your wheel hub, ensuring a secure fit without the hassle. No more dealing with ill-fitting caps that threaten to fall off during the journey.

Effortless Access for Maintenance: Convenient Rubber Plug

Routine maintenance can be a chore, especially when you have to pry off entire caps. Thanks to the 1.18" inner diameter rubber plug sitting smartly at the top, greasing components becomes a breeze. Just pop it off, do your work, and snap it back in place.

Tough Builds That Last: Zinc-Coated Steel Construction

Tired of replacing flimsy caps every season? These caps boast a robust 22-gauge, zinc-coated steel construction, providing superior rust and corrosion resistance. This durable build ensures longevity, even in harsh conditions or saltwater environments.

Seamless Integration with EZ Lube Systems

For those running EZ Lube spindles, compatibility can often be an issue. Not with these caps. Designed specifically to integrate seamlessly, you can lube your wheels without hassle while knowing the caps are designed to fit the spindle specification perfectly.

All-in-One Smart Design: Includes Rubber Plug to Retain Grease

No more messy hubs or greases leaking out. The caps come complete with an integrated rubber plug, keeping the grease securely inside and preserving the cleanliness of your wheel assembly. It’s a cost-effective solution that keeps you clean and your equipment running smoothly.

Breezy Installations: Perfect for DIYers

Whether you're a seasoned mechanic or a first-time installer, the design simplicity makes installation quick and easy. With a snug but not an overly tight fit, tapping these caps into place requires minimal tools and effort, making them a hassle-free fix for any trailer enthusiast.

Video Transcript for Breaking Down the 2" Lubed Dust Cap and Rubber Plug

Today we're going to look at the trailer hub E-Z Lube Grease Cap and Plug number DC-200L-DCRP. This grease cap is designed to fit trailer hubs on E-Z Lube axles that have a 1.99 inner diameter. This has a nice corrosion-resistant zinc plating. The E-Z Lube axles that this fits on, they have a grease-cert 00:00:20 fitting on the end of the spindle that allows you to grease the bearings without having to remove the complete hub assembly. This E-Z lube compatible grease cap will make lubricating the bearings very fast and easy. It just installs on the end of your hub and when you need to grease the bearings all you have to do is pop off the rubber plug. It has the hole right here to gain access to that grease-cert 00:00:41 fitting on the end of the spindle.

Put your grease cut in there and you can pump grease into the bearings without having to remove the complete hub and drum or hub assembly. Now this cap is made of a 22 gauge steel construction. Pop that rubber plug back in there. It is a drive and installation. In other words, you just tap that, drive it into the hub until it seats.

The rubber plus is included. The quantity is for 1. The flange diameter which is this measurement here, that would be the same measurement as the inner diameter of the hub it's going on. It's going to be right at 1.99 inches. The overall height from the bottom to the top is going to be right at 1.4 inches.

That should do it for the review of the Trailer Hub E-Z Lube Grease Cap and Plug number DC-200L-DCRP.

  • What Size Dust Cap Does The Dexter Idler Hub DX77UR Use?
Hey Jim. The Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,700-lb Axles item # DX77UR comes with a 1.99" OD grease cap like item # DX59HR. When you say removable seal are you referring to the EZ Lube Grease Caps like item # DX69HR? If so these are what you need for the Dexter Idler Hub item # DX77UR.

  • Trailer Hub Dust Cap with a 2.125" Outside Diameter
I have a couple close but not perfect to your measurements. The 2" Lubed Dust Cap & Rubber Plug - 1.99" part # DC200L-DCRP is an extremely common cap size found on a lot of trailers. Sometimes the hub will have a small bevel on them that could easily be 1/16" on each side getting us to the 2 1/8" or I have the larger Zinc Plated Grease Cap - 2.333" Outer Diameter part # TRDC-233 but with this one we are looking at it being almost 1/4" too big. I think that will cause issues with installation....

  • What Would Cause Grease to Appear All Over Trailer Wheels on 3 Trailers
It sounds like the seals have failed and the grease from the bearings has come out during travel. Also it is possible that if you have an EZ lube axle with a grease zerk at the end to add grease but use a single lip seal, the pressure can blow out the single lip seal. If you have mixed incompatible greases they can break down and could some how evacuate the hub. You will want to inspect the seals on the trailers to see if they are the issue. I can tell you what replacement seals you...

  • Can Galvanized Dexter 3,500 lb Hub 8-248-50 be Used on EZ Lube Spindle
Yes, the Kodiak Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # Q-HUB84545 that you referenced is perfectly compatible with EZ lube spindles. The only difference between the hubs that are EZ lube and non-EZ lube is the cap style. So for an EZ lube style cap that fits this hub you'd just need the part # DC200L-DCRP and you'd be set.

The Kodiak Disc Brake Assembly - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35DKG will fit spindles that measure 1.063 inches at the outer bearing, 1.378 inches at the inner bearing, and 1.719 inches at the seal location. It also fits brake flanges that have the 4 bolt mounting pattern. Unfortunately the photo you sent with dimensions did not come through, so I can't see if they are compatible. If you have further questions please let me know.

  • How to Remove a Trailer EZ Lube Grease Cap or Dust Cap
EZ Lube Dust Caps, like # DC200L-DCRP, have a rubber plug that can be removed to access the zerk fitting. The rubber plug can be removed by gently prying it up with a flathead screwdriver. If your dust cap is in good condition and you want to avoid getting dents in the cover, you can use the Dust Cap Driver Tool to remove the cap. Simply slide it over the dust cap and then use the leverage created by the handle to gently pry on the cap in different directions until it begins to wiggle....

  • Grease On Front of Wheel On Trailer After Sitting 18 Months
There should not be grease leaking onto your wheel. Since it is on the front of the wheel that leads me to think maybe the grease zerk was not all the way tight and may have leaked some grease out, or if there was any grease that was on the outside of the hub it is possible that sitting out in the elements caused some water to dilute and run down the hub. When you removed the wheel, did you see any grease on the back side of the hub leaking out? If not I'd just clean the wheel and any...

  • How do I Change from the Dexter Vault to EZ Lube Hubs on Boat Trailer?
Hello Rick, The Dexter Vault isn’t an entire hub assembly, it’s actually just a high-tech replacement for a regular grease cap. It fits onto the end of the hub where you’d normally find a dust cap or standard bearing protector. What makes it special is that it contains a sealed chamber filled with temperature-sensitive oil instead of grease. So even though it looks like a regular cap on the outside, inside it’s doing a lot more to keep your bearings lubricated and cool. You’ll want to...

Based on the information and images I could find on your 2020 Grand Design 2500RL you will need the Grease Cap # DC200L-DCRP. This fits an inner hub diameter of 1.99" which is most common on your 3,500lb axles. For the center cap I recommend the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Center Cap w/ Snap-In Plug # LHCS102-SI60C. This is stainless steel to prevent corrosion and chrome flaking. It has a removable plug to make it easier to access the grease zerk on the spindle.

  • Replacement Dexter 8-248 Hub, Races, Bearings and Grease Seals For Boat Trailer
The Dexter 8-248 is a 3500 lb idler hub which uses the L44649 outer/L68149 inner bearing and a 10-19 grease seal. The bearings cross reference to the A4 and A17 bearings you mentioned and the 10-19 seal cross references to the 171255 seal. For bearings/races/seals, you'd need the # BK2-100 kit. For a replacement galvanized hub (which is what you'd want to use on a boat trailer), use # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K. The races are pre-installed, which is a good thing because installing the races...
