Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Bearings Races Seals Caps - Replacement Bearing - 25580

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this replacement trailer hub bearing, part number 25580. Now, this is a high-quality, tapered roller bearing. It is designed for use in 5,200 pound up to 10,000 pound axles, and it does this as a replacement part. It does use this industry standard number of 25580 and that'll always be etched on the bearing itself to let you know what part number it is.

So if you can see it right there, it's etched right there. Now, the inner diameter, which is the critical measurement right here, is 1.75 inches. The matching bearing race that this'll sit in, we sell separately. It's part number 25520. And the application again for this bearing, it's used as an inner bearing for 5,200 pound, 6,000 pound, 7,000 pound, and 8,000 pound axles.

And it's also used as an outer bearing on 9,000 pound and 10,000 pound general duty axles. But that should do it for a look at the replacement trailer hub bearing.

  • Determining Replacement Hub And Bearings For Dexter P-12 SLR Trailer Axle
I can definitely help you find the correct replacement hub and bearings for your Dexter P-12 SLR axle, but since part of the serial number was unreadable you will need to take a few simple steps to identify which bearings your axle uses. The easiest way to accomplish this is to remove one hub and look for the numbers stamped on the inner and outer bearing like shown in the attached picture of the # L44649. If your bearings are too worn to be able to read the numbers, you will need digital...

  • Correct Bearing Kit for a Curt 5,100 lbs Axle
Thanks for the information and picture James! Your Curt 5,100 lbs capacity axle uses item # 25580 inner bearings and item # LM67048 outer bearings. So you would need the Bearing Kit item # BK3-300, which includes both bearings, along with both races, a grease seal and cotter pin. You'll need one kit per hub. As far as a replacement axle goes you wouldn't be able to upgrade to a 6,000 lbs axle and keep the same hubs. The 5,200 lbs Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles item #...

Based on my research, your AL-KO T-52 Axle has # 42 spindles that use hub assemblies with a # 25580 inner bearing and # 15123 outer bearing. You will just want to determine the bolt pattern you are needing as well as the axle capacity, as this can vary between different models. I have attached an article that will help you determine the bolt pattern on your existing hubs. The etrailer.com Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-K will work for 5,200 pound and 6,000 pound axles and...

  • Replacement Hub and Drum Assembly For Older Drum Marked HD-1206
The HD-1206 number you found on your drum cross references to the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 # 8-201-5 which is a 12" x 2" drum with the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern you mentioned but has wheel studs instead of holes for wheel bolts. The # 8-201-5 requires inner bearing # 25580, outer bearing # LM67048, grease seal # RG06-090, and grease cap # RG04-080 as these are not included. I included a video of the # 8-201-5 for you to take a look at.

  • Pre-Greased Replacement 5-on-5 Hub for 3500-lb Dexter Axle
You can confirm the weight rating of your Dexter axle by removing one hub and pulling its bearings. The included photo shows how part numbers usually appear on bearings. The specific bearings used will tell you the axle's weight rating. Just refer to the linked article that lists the bearings commonly used for various axle weight ratings. A new hub must use the same bearings as the original hub in order to fit on your spindles. A 3500-lb axle commonly uses bearings # L68149 and # L44649...

  • Correct Replacement Grease Seal For 7000lb Lippert Axle
I reached out to my contact at Lippert and based on the NV 248685 your 7000lb Lippert axle uses inner bearing # 25580, outer bearing # 14125A, and grease seal # GS-2250DL. Now this grease seal has a 2.250" I.D. which is the same as the seal you purchased, so I do not have a good answer to why yours is not fitting as that is what your axle was designed to use. I was unable to find an order through us so I recommend double checking the dimensions of the seal you ordered to make sure it...

  • Disc Brakes for Sundowner Toy Hauler With Lippert Drum 2420801
Hi James; Lippert wasn't able to identify the hub off of that number so I'm not 100% sure what bearing combination you have. It does look like it is an 8k hub with a 12" x 2" drum which isn't common. Another customer reported # 25580 inner and # 02475 outer bearings with some uncertainty but that would line up with your standard 8k bearing combination. Assuming that is correct, you can use the # KOD82FR if you're looking for a hub/rotor. If you want to use slip-on rotors you will need...

Hi Kendal, There unfortunately is a guide available to us to see what bearings and seals fit your trailer's spindle so you'll need to remove one of the hubs and look for their part numbers. If you don't want to trash the grease seal to get to the inner bearing or the part numbers are already worn off then you can also just measure the spindle at points B, C, and D with a caliper # PTW80157. It looks like you're likely trying to replace your hubs/drums on your Dexter axle and I do believe that the "0100" you found on the spec plate actually reads "D100" since that was one of the models that Dexter had for this particular line of axles; I've confirmed this with Dexter as well.
