Question:

Im am trying put my trailer hub back together. The inner bearing I bought is too big. The hub number is AL-KO 7290. I need a bearing that will run on a race that tapers from 3 1/4inch to 2 31/32over 15/16. ID of the bearing is 2. Also, I need a new seal. The dimensions of the seal is 2 3/4inch iD and 3 25/32inch OD. And 3/4inch thick. Do you have what I need or can you provide the part numbers or direct me to a source?

The 7290 that you see is a casting number. It is found on AL-KO hubs that fit #99 spindles. I found that the bearings used are # 28580 which would be the inner bearing and # 25580 which would be the outer bearing. For the seal use # 91030.

Michael, do you stock a 7290 in a 4.75 pilot? Needing one complete with hub cap, bearings and brake assembly.

@ToddG Hey Todd, I have been working on getting the right hub added for you, but running into some hiccups along the way. The Hub you have is an old AL-KO hub that is no longer made. Can you please respond directly to the email that you receive with a picture of your axle tag? That way I can forward it to Dexter to see what will work.

@KateF , I did find out my hub is not a 4.75” hub, but is in fact a 4.88” pilot. A local dealer measured it wrong. It’s a 7290 with the 4.88” pilot for sure. Will need the hub/drum, bearings, seal and the plastic hub cap with o ring. Also will need one brake assembly that’s 12-1/4” x 3-1/2” for the right side. The backing plate has six holes but only uses five studs which are on 5-1/2” centers.

@ToddG We do not have what you are looking for. It can be a pain to try to find those old Al-Ko parts. I am going to send you a private email with what I was able to find in some searches. We would recommend getting a new axle so you can have an easier time finding parts. If it comes to that, shoot me over your hub face to hub face, and spring center to spring center measurement and I will see what we have.
