I literally called 15 boat and trailer shops in town and could get the parts I needed. I quickly found them on etrailer, had spot on 2 day delivery that I could track on line and had my trailer ready when I needed it. I will use etrailer here on out rather driving and calling every place in town. Parts were exact as well as delivery. Awesome job and thank y’all!!! 764572

I have been in business for over 30 years and a hobby of mine is I look at different company operations thinking what could be done to improve their service and etrailer.com does it right. From tracking your order, emails and videos on products you just purchased. This allows you all the information you need to install you parts right the first time. Great Job! 497008

Time to grease the suspension on my trailer. Ordered LMX grease and a new grease gun from e-trailer. As always, great service and followup. Product arrived in 2 business days. I will continue to do business with these guys - they are the BEST! 637078

Picked up a few tubes of Red LMX grease for my EZ Lube hubs on my camper. They were recommended by etrailer as a good grease for wheel bearings. I have used Lubrimatic grease over the years and had good luck with it. The red color will make it easy to see when the old grease is flushed out. 370667

Good grease for my camper bearings, but it needs to be packaged it a separate box so it doesn’t get smashed onto the other parts. Thanks Ricky! Your help was Greatly needed. 545723

I just received and used the Lubrimatic LMX grease, so I can only comment that it looks like a high quality product. I did want to comment that I was using it to pack 4 Dexter 3500lbs EZ-lube spindles/bearings, and 14oz was barely adequate. I was short a couple pumps of the grease gun. So my advice is to figure on 3 spindles per tube, or maybe to be more precise: number of spindles you can do = 4 x #LMXtubes - 1. You may need some extra for maintenance in any case. 408598

Just repacked bearings with new seals on my 4' x 8' folding utility trailer. Customer service was great in helping me with selecting the right parts including cotter pins. All is good now. I have been ordering from etrailer for 10 + years. Great place with great people! 859340

Grease came quickly and in time for a bearing job swap. The tube I ordered had a small ding which didn't allow me to use my grease gun but Carol and the team at eTrailer took care of me and sent out a different tube quick. Crisis adverted. Thank you much! The grease itself is of high quality and I wouldn't use anything different. 829473

All parts arrived quickly and fit perfect! I bought a used car trailer few months ago and brakes quit working. Pulled drums and needed new magnets, it was missing spring on one side, prior owner must have got some bad service. E-Trialer hooked me up with all the parts, also ordered hub seals and grease and repacked bearings. Thank you !!! 746868

Ask the Experts about this LubriMatic Tools

  • Can Regular and Marine Grease be Used in the Same Hub
That is an excellent question! In some instances mixing regular grease like part # L11390 won't hurt when mixed with marine grease like part # L11402 but in some situations it can ruin your hubs/spindles and taking the extra time to clean off the grease and redo the job is much better than having to do that again after replacing a bunch of parts that got ruined. The only way to know if it is safe or not is to look at the attached diagram and determine if the greases are okay to be used...

  • What is the Best Grease for Trailer Bearings
Even though I cannot comment specifically on the grease you used because I am not familiar with it, I can tell you the best grease for trailer bearings is a a grease with a rating of GC-LB, which just means it is made to withstand very high temperatures (like what occur on a trailer hub that has massive RPMs when travelling, even at slower speeds) so it will continue to lubricate instead of quickly dissipating like you see with lower rated greases. The best grease for trailer bearings...

  • Grease Recommendation and Schedule for Dexter EZ Lube Spindles
Standard tapered trailer wheel bearings are recommended to be re-packed with fresh bearing grease about every year or every 12,000 miles under normal use. In certain conditions this interval could be shorter, such as if you routinely tow the trailer under conditions of extreme heat or near its maximum load capacity. This and other recommended trailer maintenance procedures are outlined in the linked article, which may interest you. The best grease around for trailer hubs is the "Red"...

The # AKHD-545-35-K come pre-greased, so you shouldn't need to add any grease when installing these. With that being said, if you do need to add some or would like to have some on hand for future maintenance you'll want to use a white lithium multipurpose grease like the LubriMatic LMX # L11390 or the LubriMatic white lithium multipurpose grease # L11350. The LMX red is going to be a little bit more designed to hold up in extreme conditions but the white can be used on a wider variety...

  • Recommended Wheel Bearing Grease for Trailer
The best wheel bearing grease for trailer hubs is the Red style of grease like the part # L11390. It looks like this is what you have too since the picture shows red grease. This grease is the toughest option available and works great in trailer wheel hubs. It's also really great for marine applications as it's highly water insoluble.

  • Red Grease Recommendation in Hub Drums
Red grease is the king honestly. I can't find where you found on our site to say otherwise for disc brakes but you'll be fine with it in your trailer hub. • Grease Recommendation for Converting Oil Bath to Grease Hubs
LMX Red grease is the highest quality grease rated for wheel bearing use. I would recommend going with that. For that you would want part # L11390. You have found the biggest drawback to oilbath hubs, if a seal goes out on a grease hub you can most likely make it home and replace it and you will be fine. With oilbath, by the time you realize the seal went out you've done damage to the hub or drum. We don't carry brake fluid, but your local auto parts store should be able to help with that.

Keep pumping grease into the fittings until you start to see a little grease seeping through the outer bearing. This means that you have packed as much grease as will fit into your spindle. • Grease Recommendation for a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
You will want to consult the manual for the hitch you have to determine if there is a specific type of lubricant needed and for all of the areas that need to be lubricated. I do not recommend a spray lubricant such PB Blaster for 5th wheel hitch lubrication because it will not be heavy duty enough for the stresses involved with 5th wheel towing.
