Picked up a few tubes of Red LMX grease for my EZ Lube hubs on my camper. They were recommended by etrailer as a good grease for wheel bearings. I have used Lubrimatic grease over the years and had good luck with it. The red color will make it easy to see when the old grease is flushed out. 370667

I have been in business for over 30 years and a hobby of mine is I look at different company operations thinking what could be done to improve their service and etrailer.com does it right. From tracking your order, emails and videos on products you just purchased. This allows you all the information you need to install you parts right the first time. Great Job! 497008

What can you say about Grease. It work s! 103588

- L11390
by:

I just received and used the Lubrimatic LMX grease, so I can only comment that it looks like a high quality product. I did want to comment that I was using it to pack 4 Dexter 3500lbs EZ-lube spindles/bearings, and 14oz was barely adequate. I was short a couple pumps of the grease gun. So my advice is to figure on 3 spindles per tube, or maybe to be more precise: number of spindles you can do = 4 x #LMXtubes - 1. You may need some extra for maintenance in any case. 408598

I have put over 4,000 miles on my 7,000 lb travel trailer since I replaced the bearings and lubricated them with Lubrimatic LMX grease purchased from etrailer.com. The bearings have performed without any issues. I have since done a minor re-tightening of the bearing castle nuts. Of the 4 wheels, only one needed re-tightening. I recommend this product without hesitation! 414795

  • Reese Revolution Pin Box Grease Maintenance
  • Yes, you will need to grease the skid plate and around the wedge on the Sidewinder/Revolution. I have included a picture from the instructions for Sidewinder # RP61410 showing where the grease needs to go. You can use grease # L11390.

  • Recommended Replacement Brake Hub and Drum Assemblies for AL-KO 8490 Brake System
  • I can definitely help you replace your AL-KO 8490 hub and drums that are worn. These hub and drum assemblies are for 3500 lbs axles, and there are some great replacement options for you. I recommend the etrailer.com Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K. This hub and drum uses # L68149 inner bearing and # L44649 outer bearings. This assembly includes the bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, and lug nuts. This has a 10 inch diameter and a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. For a 10...

  • How To Tell If I Have An EZ Lube Axle
  • If you look at the outermost part of the spindle on your axle there will be what is called a grease zerk or grease gun fitting. It will look like a tiny round ball which is where you can attach a grease gun to grease your spindle. If your spindle has a zerk on it then you have an E-Z lube spindle and you will want to use either the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K if you have drum brakes or the part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K if you don't have brakes. The price difference...

  • Complete Electric Brake Installation for 2,000 lb Trailer Axle
  • With the axle measurement and the bearing number, I can confirm that you have 2,000 lb capacity axles on your trailers. You will want to get the Brake Mounting Flange, # 4-34, to weld onto each side of each axle. With that flange in place, you will want to mount the 7 inch Electric Trailer Brake Assembly # AKEBRK-2L on the left side of the axle and the # AKEBRK-2R on the right side of the axle. These are nearly identical parts, but installing on the correct side is very important....

  • Replacement Bearings for Dexter Idler Hub Assembly for 3500 lb Axles # 84545BX
  • The bearing replacements I recommend for the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84545BX are: Inner bearing: # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) Outer bearing: # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) If you need the grease seal, I recommend # 58846 or # RG06-050 which have the same measurements. You can get everything in a kit using just the Bearing Kit for 84 Spindle, L44649/L68149 Bearings, 10-19 Double Lip Seal # BK2-100. You may also be interested in...

If you have the EZ Lube spindle with the grease zerk then you will want # BK3-210 to include the EZ Lube washer. For the grease, I recommend the LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease - 14 oz. Cartridge # L11390. If you want to pack them easily, I recommend using the Bearing Packer - Plastic # PTW1218. I've also attached an article...

  • Grease Recommendation and Schedule for Dexter EZ Lube Spindles
  • Standard tapered trailer wheel bearings are recommended to be re-packed with fresh bearing grease about every year or every 12,000 miles under normal use. In certain conditions this interval could be shorter, such as if you routinely tow the trailer under conditions of extreme heat or near its maximum load capacity. This and other recommended trailer maintenance procedures are outlined in the linked article, which may interest you. The best grease around for trailer hubs is the "Red"...

  • How to Grease the Bearings on My Trailer
  • Greasing the bearings is actually a fairly easy process. It does take a little bit of time to complete, but after you are done you won't have to worry about greasing the bearings again for a few years. I do have some recommendations to help make this process a bit easier for you. When it comes to packing the bearings with grease you do have a few different options. You can either do it by hand or you can use a grease packer. Although doing it by hand is definitely the most cost efficient...

  • Recommended Grease Conversion for Dexter 12k Oil Bath Axles
  • The Dexter 12K oil bath axles can be changed over to grease without any issues. The oil does keep the bearings lubricated well, but there is a much higher risk of leaking which leads to a much higher risk of failure. I'd personally move to grease # L11390 and make sure it is packed well into the bearings using # PTW1218. This will allow you to use your same bearings and oil cap, but you will need to replace the seal once removed to pack the inner bearing. For that you can use # 10-56.

  • Wheel Bearing Grease Recommendation for 7k Lippert Axle
  • The RED grease is the best grease for trailer hubs. It's marine grade and the most heavy-duty grease around so its what we recommend the most. For that you would want # L11390. This grease also happens to be the most universal. You are going to need to measure your current spindle to determine whether or not you need a 2-1/8 inch seal like # RG06-090 or if you need a 2-1/4 inch seal like # RG06-070. You will need to take the measurement of the spindle where the grease seal rides....

If you give me those numbers, I can help you get the replacements you need that may or may not have the same number. I also attached a pretty helpful guide to how often trailer components should be maintained. For grease Dexter recommends wheel bearing grease. For that we recommend the red grease part # L11390. My contact at our spindle manufacturer confirmed that the spindle will perform well when the tire speed is complied with. I also recommend servicing your trailer often if you are driving at speeds upward of 75 mph. So if you wanted you could just use a little grease, # L11390. If you would rather use a lube plate then the hitch instructions state a maximum thickness of 3/16 of an inch (but don't specify a diameter).
