Adapts your Blue Ox motorhome-mounted tow bar so you can use it with a Roadmaster direct-connect or crossbar-style base plate.

One of the big issues it seems like we've run into quite a bit is the fact that people have their tow bar already. They really like it, you know, it's in good condition, and there's really no need to have to purchase another tow bar, but they end up going with a different style or a different brand of base plate on their vehicle. And that's actually our exact situation today. So our neighbor really liked the look of how the Roadmaster base plate, you know, looked on the front of his vehicle. And I can agree with them, it's a really nice setup. But the problem was he had a Blue Ox tow bar.
So instead of having to kind of settle for a base plate or buy a whole new tow bar, you can simply just change out the ends. And that's exactly what we're gonna do. So, you know, with the Blue Ox ends going to a Roadmaster direct connect style, you know, they just, they don't work, they don't line up, they're not gonna be able to work. So by using the adapter, we can take this one off, put that one on, and it's going to allow those arms to pair up correctly. To get the ends changed out, it's not really that big of a deal.
It's gonna be one bolt all, all right And so we want to get the old end removed by using, in our case it's a 3/4 inch socket, and we'll get this hardware removed, and you wanna hold onto it because we are going to reuse it to get our adapter in place. (tool clicking) We will remove our nut and the bolt there, and you'll probably have some plastic style nylon washers in there. With the new adapters, though, you do receive more of 'em. And so we'll see what fits the best. We'll take our adapter, line it up.
Quite a bit of space in there. So I'll probably use two of these washers per side. Take your bolt, pass it through the washers, pass it through the adapter, We'll sneak our other two washers in there. And push it through. If you can manage to get everything lined up here.
So once you got that pushed through, something you do need to be aware of is you want to take some red Loctite. You are gonna have to grab this separately. And put some red Loctite on those threads, take the nut. And then we're just gonna tighten this down. And the way that I like to do it is kind of just go by feel, as far as the tension is concerned. So I'll run this down til it gets tight. And then see how easy this is to move. You know, you want some resistance in there, that way it's easy to line up, but you don't want it so tight or so loose. So kind of just use your best judgment. That feels, has some resistance, not super loose, not super tight, and I'm definitely happy with it. So you got one on, do the same thing on the other side of the toolbar. I got our end switched out, and I'll show you how to do that in a minute. It's super simple. But the way this will hook up to your direct connect style base plate, line it up and put your pin through. And something that I really like is the fact that the adapter ends are actually gonna come with these pins. And I feel like a lot of people are under the assumption that these pins come with the base plate, and that's not the case. They'll actually come with the tow bar. So the fact that you're hooking up now to a Roadmaster base plate and having a Blue Ox tow bar, you're not gonna have the pins. So it's just a nice touch that they're coming with the adapter ends, and it's one less part you're not gonna have to think about or worry about picking up separately.
I originally purchased a Blue Ox baseplate to install since I already had a tow bar. Upon removing the front grill, I was surprised to find the used Element I had purchased already had the front bumper caps removed and 2 braces installed. Thanks to the photos on etrailer reviews and product info, I was able to determine that the vehicle had previously had a roadmaster baseplate installed! I purchased these so I could use my Blue Ox towbar with the new baseplate and it is working perfectly so far.
Hit the way they should , and lightened the tow bar up and made it easier to hook to the vehicle

We recently completed a 7400+ mile, 3 12 month trip with our motorhome towing our vehicle. The ease of connecting unhooking our vehicle was greatly enhanced by these adaptors. I am very pleased with their quality and performance.

A bit bulky but will do the job-I had a new Blue-Ox tow bar already and was going to use the Blue-Ox base plate but was informed it would not work on the hybrid model so I went with the Roadmaster and needed the adapters,
This item was delivered in a very timely manner. We bought a motorhome that had a Blue Ox tow bar attached. Previously, we had used and still own a Roadmaster tow bar which connected to our Jeep Cherokee. The Blue Ox tow bar was newer and had a larger tow rating, but it was not compatible with our Jeep's baseplate. This product will allow us to use the Blue Ox tow bar now. Did not know that adapter kits were even available like this. Very sturdy product. Looks like it will work well for us.
Just installed it on my Blue Ox tow bar. Fixes very well and saved me allot of money not having to purchase a Roadmaster tow bar to connect to truck with Roadmaster base plate. Changed numerous delivery companies but finally got it via US mail 10 days after initial order.

Works great towed my car all the way to New Brunswick and back to Georgia. No problems of any sort.
This item is of quality construction, unfortunately for me I ordered the wrong item. I did not realize I needed to order an additional adapter to utilize this item # RO64FR. I need item #RM-032 Road Master tow adapter bar for a Blue Ox tow bar to connect to the Road Master base plate kit # 446-1.

The adapters look ruggedly built and should help me start towing my Sienna van
Ordering was easy, I first called to verify a few dimensions to make sure this would fir my specific Blue Ox towbar. The lady was very helpful, order was placed, 2 days later I had the parts. Installed them yesterday in about 15 minutes. Use LocTite to make sure of no future problems.

Exactly what I needed to use my Blue Ox towbar on the Jeep I bought with a Roadmaster direct connect baseplate.
Works great on a Blue ox tow bar and the oins are easy to remove.
