The 2021 and 2022 Ford Escape models are the same generation so if I had to guess I would say that the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU55XR from a 2021 will fit a 2022. At this point in time (February 2022) the only base plate kit that is confirmed to fit your 2022 Escape Hybrid is the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM39FR.

For a tow bar I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380 which is rated for 6,500 lbs and comes with the safety cables. This fits directly to the Blue Ox base plate kit (if you choose to go that route) or it can fit the Roadmaster kit by using the Adapters # RO64FR.

When it comes to the wiring the only kits that Blue Ox offers require you to drill a hole into the tail light housing which is pretty much guaranteed to damage the lights when it comes to newer vehicles. Because of this, I recommend using the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which splices into your existing wiring, plus it comes with the 6-Way vehicle-side socket so you can install the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to prevent your battery from draining during travel.

Then for a braking system Blue Ox offers the Patriot # BLU37TR which is a portable system that is very easy to install and use. To keep your brake lights working properly you also need to install the Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400.

Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.
