Features to know about

Built for Everyday Utility Work: Load Range C Strength at 745 lbs

When you’re hauling gear or handling light-duty jobs, this Kenda K371 bias trailer tire delivers the capacity and durability you need. It’s a Load Range C, 6-ply tire rated for 745 lbs at 90 psi, built to handle steady use without complaint. The tire fits 8" x 3-3/4" rims and meets DOT requirements, so you can count on consistent performance season after season.

Confident Handling on Rough Terrain: Bias Ply Construction

The Kenda K371 uses a bias ply build with thick nylon cords set at a 30- to 45-degree angle in alternating layers. That crisscross pattern stiffens the sidewalls while keeping the tread flexible, giving you solid stability and a smoother ride across uneven surfaces. It’s the kind of design that keeps traction steady whether you’re crossing grass, gravel, or dirt.

Peace of Mind When the Unexpected Happens: 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

Kenda backs this tire with a 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee—if it’s damaged within the first 12 months, they’ll replace it at no cost. Combined with a 5-Year limited warranty, that coverage shows real confidence in how this tire performs in everyday use.

Dependable Fit and Tested Performance: Meets DOT Standards

Each K371 tire is built to exceed Department of Transportation standards for safety and quality. With its compact 16.1" outer diameter, 4.7" section width, and proven test record, it delivers reliable performance in a small, easy-to-fit package that’s made to last.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Excellent Tire - I've purchased at least six of these for several 3-wheel Light Industrial vehicles. Bought this one to put on my Wheelbarrow because I'm tired of the wimpy 2ply tire that came on it. This Kenda will hold more that the Wheelbarrow (and it's operator) can move!!

This tire continues to perform - it will outlive the Wheelbarrow and likely its operator You will not be disappointed with this Tire!

The entire ordering process with etrailer was great!
Amy J. was extremely helpful and addressed a concern we had, and went above and beyond!
by:
Tires are great, shipping was the fastest of my boat orders last week too. These are to upgrade jestski trailers that need tires rated above 55mph.
by:
Seem to be a good heavy duty tire
by:
I purchased these to replace the tires on my boat trailer. They fit the rim but seemed slightly smaller than the tires I took off. The only other thing I noticed is that the tires were made a few months apart and had slightly different lettering. The font or design was different between the two. Since I only had one on each side, it didn’t really matter. Nobody will ever notice it. The tire was as described and should fit the need perfectly. I have already pulled it a few times but nothing heavy, just a couple hundred pounds max including the trailer.

So far, so good. Still holding air and track great down the road.

I purchased one of these tires for my wheelbarrow last Spring. I live in the land of goatheads, prickly pear cactus, and other thorns; previous tires just didn't last. Very frustrating when you go to get the wheelbarrow and the darn tire is flat! This one has survived the Spring and all Summer without a hitch, flat or one single problem. I would highly recommend this option to anyone with a similar problem!
Can you tell which tire I like?

Thanks for writing this review! While shopping for new upgraded tires for my garden cart I read this and decided to upgrade my wheelbarrow tires at the same time. The difference between the normal wheelbarrow tire and this one is amazing and I expect it to be well worth the time and money to do it!SRC

Speedy delivery and high quality products.
I ordered the RV tire cover as well as 5 trailer tires.
I had to replace the awful and extremely poor quality tires that came with the Farm-Tuff Utility Trailer — 2,200-Lb. Capacity, Model# 03813 wagon that i ordered from Northern Tool.

Tires still in great shape, even having endured a long snowy mountain winter.

by:
These tires are made with higher grade rubber compounds than typical off-the-shelf brands to help ensure longer tire wear life and UV resistance.
by:
Do yourself a favor and get the tires already mounted on rims. Extremely difficult to get these on and off the rim. Had to try three separate shops to mount them and a sidewall got a huge gash, thankfully they are covering the tire.
by:
Nice tires! Hopefully I’ll get better life out of them than the previous ones.
by:
I am very pleased with my tire order process, the speed of delivery, and the tires themselves. I used these tires as replacements for the original tires on my Triton LTX jet ski trailer. Exact fit and one load range better than I had. Very pleased.
by:
Seemed like they worked well. I have not kept track of the amount of miles I have put on them but they seem to be holding up well.
by:
My tires arrived quickly which was a plus as they were needed before I could travel. I had planned on taking ‘before’ photo’s but it seems I only took after photo’s. After installing and after driving 300 miles. The tires did well and I am pleased all the way around.

Perfect fit for my wood splitter
by:
We ordered tires from etrailer.com and were very impressed with how quickly they arrived. Great service, easy ordering process, and the products were exactly what we needed. Highly recommend!
by:
Good quality tire. Fast Shipping!! Ordered Monday, Delivered Wednesday morning, Back splitting wood Wednesday afternoon. Thanks
by:
The product was great. The problem I have with you is you wouldn't let me buy more. I tried. Your system invalidated my order twice. I called for support and the person I talked to couldn't do it either. There was no explanation as to why. So I went to [vendor], ordered tires and had them 5 days later.
by:
Perfect fit and quick shipping.
by:
Got the tires I needed in short order
by:
Seem like decent tires. Staying inflated.
by:
Tire arrived on time, and is excellent quality. It was impossible for me to mount on the wheel; one side was convex and the other concave, so getting rim contact to contain air promised to be a problem, but I could not even force one side over the wheel rim. Took the tire and wheel to a local tire business, and was fortunate to see it done. The burly operator was able to force tire on wheel, but couldn't establish rim contact. After a futile struggle he attached a VERY high pressure air tank and injected a blast of air that was more like an explosion, forcing the tire to balloon out and make rim contact. After that, no problem...

I use mine on a trailer for hauling 500-1200 pounds on a small trailer for my business. After a year they are still looking pretty new and holding air well. I appreciate the long wear life.

by:
I love, love, love this trailer tire. I have purchased and installed six of these tires, on vintage Cushman 24volt Industrial Electric vehicles (3 wheelers) and they are a GREAT addition. Classic tread design, Art Deco, Saw-Tooth side-wall styling, and rugged tire design - a perfect tough tire that adds a great finishing touch to your vintage restoration project.

I ordered these tires, which came at a great price, for my small lawnmower trailer that may some day haul a motorcycle, and I must say I am more than pleased with product and service. The tires are all they are supposed to be and after selecting standard delivery they arrived in two days. Now that's service. I put these tires on in about two hours with a tire iron and a screw driver--no problem--I'm hauling mower. Need a tire? These guys are the tire people for me.

  • What is the Difference Between 4.80/4.00-8 and 5.70-8 Trailer Tires for a Boat Trailer
Both the 4.80/4.00-8 and 5.70-8 tires sizes will fit the same wheel size, 8 x 3-3/4 inch. The 5.70 is taller by 2 inches and wider by 1.2 inches. If you have more than 1 inch of space between the tire and a fender and more than 1.2 inches between the side of the tire and the trailer then you can use the larger size such as # AM10010 rated for 715 pounds at 50 psi. If you do not have the space then stick with the same size you have, 4.80/4.00-8 using # AM10002 rated for 590 pounds at 60...

  • What Tire Pressure Is Recommended On 4.80/4.00-8 Load Range C Trailer Tire For Highway Speeds
The tires should be inflated to 90 psi on the highway as well as other roads, regardless of load size. The problem is that under inflating a trailer tire will lead to degradation of the tire. On trailer tires, the side walls are thicker than on car tires so they can handle more vertical load. An under inflated tire side wall will heat up more often and quicker and will lead to early wear and possible failure of the tire. The best thing to do is to follow the rating on the tires and inflate...

  • What is the Difference Between Load Range B and C Trailer Tires
Load range B trailer tires are going to have a lower capacity than C load range tires. Basically that, psi rating, and the ply rating are the only differences. A higher load range tire would last a little longer than lower load ranges of the same size but it will not increase the capacity of the trailer. If you go with tire # AM10004 it is rated for 745 pounds at 90 psi. And tire # AM10002 is rated for 590 pounds at 60 psi. Both tires will fit 8 inch x 3-3/4 inch wheels. I have included...

  • How to Decipher Trailer Tire Size Numebers
The size 400/480 and 4.00/4.80are the same tire size. The 400/4.00 designation referrers to an older tire size that is no longer available and the 480/4.80 size will replace the older model sized. Therefore, a tire like the Kenda Bias Trailer Tire, # AM10004, will fit both 4.00 and 4.80 size tires. On your current tires, the 4.80 number represents the section width of the tire, or the width across the tread. The second number is the wheel diameter size. You have a wheel that has a 8...

For a 9/16-inch lug the torque spec ranges from 135- to 145-ft-lbs. Please refer to the linked chart. • Tires With Higher Speed Rating for Motorcycle Trailer With 4.80/4.00-8 Tires
Hi Hector; to get that higher speed rating you will need to move up to a 12" tire. The only potential issue is the loss of clearance when compared to your current tires. If you have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern you can use the # AM35351DX and for 5 on 4-1/2 the # AM31199DX. This tire has a speed rating of M for 81 mph. Compared to a tire like the # AM10004 you looked at the diameter will be 5.2" larger and the width will be 1" wider. This means you will lose 2.6" of clearance on top and 0.5"...

  • Recommended Replacement 4.80/4.00-8 Boat Trailer Tires
Generally speaking, a radial tire is going to have a few improved differences when compared to a bias tire like what you currently have on your trailer. A radial tire will flex more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction and stability. They will also run a bit cooler, especially when the tire is under a heavy load. One advantage a bias tire does have over a radial is a stiffer sidewall, a feature that is useful for off road applications. The 4.80/4.00-8 trailer tires...

  • Will Smaller Tire Fit In Place of 4.80/4.00-8 Tire
A smaller 3.5-8 tire will not be able to fit in place of a 4.80/4.00-8 tire such as the Kenda Loadstar K371 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80/4.00-8 - Load Range B # AM10002 (590 lb capacity) or Load Range C # AM10004 (745 lb capacity). The reason is the smaller section width, because 4.80/4.00-8 tires fit 8" x 3-3/4" rims such as Steel Trailer Wheel # AM20008 (Galvanized) or # AM20006 (White) and a 3.5-8 tire is not wide enough to fit. I can certainly point you in the right direction. Most 4.80-4.00-8 tires will use a hub with a 4 on 4, or 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. Since your trailer is fairly small, I suspect it would be a 4 lug hub. Next we just need to confirm your trailers spindle/bearing sizes. Most smaller trailers like yours use a # L44643 (1" inner diameter) bearing or a # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearing. You will simply need to pull one of the current hubs and confirm the bearing size. You can do this...
