I love the Item I purchased, very easy to install and got it a very good price. Two years or so ago I bought a front mount trailer hitchfrom E-trailer and got the best price and free shipping which was incrdible. I will always buy my trailer/hitch needs from etrailer.com. In fact I'm a retired NYC correction officer and attend union meetings as a retiree and will at the next meeting recommend etrailer.com to everyone there.. thanks for being a reliable company with the best prices on the net or anywhere else for that matter.. While there was more here than I needed (the trailer was already wired, it just had broken lights), getting this package was the cheapest and best way to get what I needed...exact, drop in replacements. Shipping was quick...your service is outstanding. That is why I will be getting another package today (which I ordered the day after I ordered the lights), and is the reason I keep going back to etrailer.com. Great prices, great service and if you ever have to talk with anyone they are the nicest people in the world. Thanks! 80337

Product is great works awesome. Took me just a little while to research that GROUNDING is the key to making everything work :) But, figured it out and better for the knowledge I gained. Would be helpful if you included with this product a good overview of grounding for people to make sure they understand the relationship of all light fixtures making contact with frame of trailer :) Very happy with purchase :) 214739

Exceptional quality for the price! I made the mistake of purchasing a kit at one third the price if this one, (I literally got what I paid for)! But no worries, as this kit was a vast improvement over the cheapy Chinese trailer light kit. I would have given it a five star, however the plugs finish quality were less than they should have been, (mold flashing, and an odd shape) they should check to make sure that the plugs are GM, Ford and Chrysler compatible. I went to the auto parts store, (NAPA) and purchased a Ford compatible male/female plugs to splice into the wire harness, versus the plugs that came with the harness provided. 303027

  • Square Trailer Tail Lights Compatibility with Metal Light Guard for 440 Style Lights
The Optronics Submersible, Under 80" Trailer Light Kit with 25' Wiring Harness # TL5RK will work seamlessly with the Light Guard - Unpainted Steel for 440 Tail Light # LG440NP you referenced. This guard is specifically made for these style lights so the dimensions will fit them just like the pictures on the product page. I've also attached a photo of the similar LED lights # TLL9RK in the same size for reference.

I spoke with Optronics about the Submersible, Under 80" Trailer Light Kit part # TL5RK and they informed me the tail lights use 1157 bulbs part # A1157B and the side marker lights use 194 bulbs part # A194B.

  • Will Trailer Light Kit Work With Wiring Harness on 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander
That is an excellent question and the answer is that your 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander will need to use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56189 with the Submersible, Under 80" Trailer Light Kit # TL5RK due to the amperage draw you referenced. The Curt kit has a max amperage of 3 amps per circuit, which will be needed for the 2.5 amps of the trailer light kit; the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118482 has a 2.1 amp capacity, as you noted, and...

  • How to the Lights in Trailer Light Kit TL5RK Ground to the Trailer
The lights included with light kit # TL5RK ground through the mounting studs. The light grounds should also be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If there is anything between a light ground and the metal trailer frame or if the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding tongue, any of these things can interrupt the ground. Running jumper wires from the light grounds to the main trailer connector ground can help. It does sound like a weak ground connection....

  • Troubleshooting New Trailer Wiring Where Running Light Circuits arent Active
Either the lights don't have power like they should or it's a ground problem. Most likely it's ground related though as that's what causes most trailer wiring issues. What I would do is try grounding the assemblies to the frame of the trailer and then also keep the ground wire that runs to the main harness you have as well. Between those two ground circuits you should get the lights to work. You can also use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check to make sure there is power ran to...

  • Troubleshooting Boat Trailer Lights That Don't Work When Vehicle Headlights Are Turned On
It sounds like what you're describing could be an issue with the ground wire on the trailer-either a short or an insufficient connection. This is a common cause of lights working initially but then malfunctioning when another load is added to the mix. I would start with checking the ground wire on the trailer to make sure that it is firmly connected to a paint and corrosion free spot on the trailer; it would also be worth checking the ground wire on your vehicle's wiring harness at this...

  • Wire Gauge of 25 Foot Harness Included with Submersible, Under 80 Inch Tail Light Kit
Optronics uses small 20 gauge wiring for their 4-Way wiring harnesses so it would be even smaller than 18. In order to get 14 gauge wires I recommend # DW04923-1 which is sold by the foot. Each of the wires in it are 14 gauge. Then you would just need the lights, # ST6RB and # ST7RB, 2 of # MC36AB, and license plate bracket # LP10SB. And for the additional clips, connectors, ties and other parts I recommend the wiring kit # HM51020.

  • Need Tail Light Mounting Brackets for Tail Lights Included in Trailer Light Kit # TL5RK
The Optronics Trailer Light Kit # TL5RK that you referenced does not include mounting brackets for the two tail light assemblies since these lights use their mounting studs to mount and provide the ground connection. You can use a bracket to mount the tail lights but you will want to be sure that there is a solid metal-to-metal connection between the bracket you use and the trailer frame to enable a good ground. The spacing of the two mounting studs on these Optronics lights is 2-inches...

  • Trailer Lights Not Lighting Up Properly on Harbor Freight Trailer
It sounds like the wiring harness you have is what is called a wishbone harness. These will have 2 wires that connect to the single running light pin so you don't have to run a jumper wire from one side of the trailer to the other. It also sounds like you have everything hooked up correctly. The Optronics Submersible, Under 80 Inches Trailer Light Kit with 25 Foot Wiring Harness, part # TL5RK, is designed for trailers under 80 inches wide. These kits include all necessary wiring and hardware needed to install the lights on your trailer. The LED light kit does not include clearance lights. But if this fuse is blown then the right brake light on the trailer also would not work. • Trailer Turn Signals and Brake Lights Not Fully Functional Connected to 2004 Chevy Silverado
Since the trailer lights work fine on a different vehicle, the likely issue is on the truck. Most likely there is a dirty or corroded trailer connector causing the issue but I would still not rule out a ground problem on the trailer. On the vehicle, start by making sure the connector is clean and free of corrosion. Also check where the wires attach in the back if it is a 4 and 7-Way or if using an adapter. If you are using an adapter it could be at fault as well. After cleaning up...

Yes, it seems like you have a ground problem on the trailer.
