Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

These tires fit 8" x 5-3/8" rims, have a load range of C, speed rating of 65 mph and maximum capacity of 800 lbs at 70 psi. • Replacement Wheel and Tire For Load Rite Personal Watercraft Trailer With 16.5x6.5-Tires
The Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel # AM3H220 appears to be the closest Wheel # AM20016 and Tire # AM1HP22 package we have to fitting your trailer. The wheel is 5-3/8" wide from bead seat to bead seat with a 0" offset. The 0" offset places the hub face at the center point of the wheel. This will give you a 2-11/16" offset from the back of the wheel hug face to the rear bead seat. This will be closer to 3" if you are including the wheel lip in your measurement. The...

  • Replacement Tires for 2007 LeesureLite Excel Motorcycle Camper Trailer
Although both tire sizes you mention are pretty close in diameter, they would mount on different sized wheels. The 4.8-8 tire, like part # AM10004 works best on a 8 x 3-3/4 inch wide wheel, while the 165/65-8, like part # AM1HP22 (which is the equivalent size to the 16.5 x 6.5-8 you mentioned) works best on a 5-3/8 inch wide wheel. If you want to use your existing wheels, I would go with whichever tire size matches the wheel. Typically, a wider tire will offer more stability, but with...
