Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Excellent service and technical advice for a difficult project to refit an old military trailer. Worked great!

by:

4-new tires for an old trailer with a hard-to-find size was no problem for eTrailer! They also beat their initial ship date by over a week which allowed me to actually use the trailer this weekend. Very happy customer!

by:

entire.com is definitely the place to go for tires. Their prices can not be matched and their customer service, shipping speed and quality far surpasses our expectations! Thank tou all and we look forward to ordering with you all in the future! We highly recommend entire.com!

by:

They're deformed from sitting for a period of time. Hopefully I can get them to mount without too much of a hassle

by:

Outstanding customer service, placed my order , it was shipped and l received it a couple days later, fantastic!

by:

The tires I purchased were perfect for my restoration project! The whole experience from selection to delivery was excellent. The tires are great and Carol from etrailer kept me informed throughout the entire delivery process and even though the product was temporarily out of stock etrailer was still able to get me my tires on the original delivery date. I would definitely refer a friend to etrailer for their tire needs.

by:

I bought these tires for a set of back ups as this tire size is rare. they look good.

by:

Very great bargain for the value of the tire

by:

I think you guys are great! My go to store for everything needing tires wheels. Even for my travel trailer. Superb

by:

Order the tires of March 2019 and the date on the tires are from mid year of 2017 so by that theory they're already about 2 years old going on the theory you should replace your tires every 5 years I'll only have 3 years to use these tires when they were shipped to me they were collapsed into themselves so the beads and inside walls were touching it was really hard to get them two seat on the Wheel not really amused that I bought brand new tires that are 2 years old

Comments
Its not unheard of for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or more before we received them. These tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they can sit in a warehouse for months until they are packed in a shipping container and ultimately loaded on a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can take a month or more. The tires then sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under controlled conditions dont age or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that your tires were older than a year when you received them will not have any effect on their lifespan or durability. They should be good for up to 6-7 years, assuming they are not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, are kept properly inflated and their speed rating isnt being exceeded on a constant basis. The product warranty begins at the date of purchase, not the date of manufacture.

etrailer usually has good quality products and they carry what I need at reasonable prices. The tires were the right size and seem to be good quality.

by:

The tires were delivered in prompt time and very well packaged...
they were mounted and installed on a boat trailer and the package
was brought home loaded with a 1956 wooden Owens runabout boat
that had been parked for over17 years in axel deep mud....
they were, top shelf -A1- 5star products. I hope the boat restores
as well as the trailer preformed. Respectfully; Bob Chatterton

by:

I have made several purchases from etrailer.com before and this purchase was like the others----great service, speedy delivery (even with all the Christmas rush) and great prices. I ordered a pair of tires for my farm diesel fuel trailer (a converted military trailer). I ordered the tires 12/18 and they arrived in just two days--wow!! I've always gotten great products & excellent service from etrailer.com & the staff.
Thank you to all at etrailer and Happy Holidays!!
Eddie
PS: will send pictures as soon as I get them mounted

by:

I searched a number of local tire shows for two replacement tires from my trailer; unfortunately, I could not find anything in my local area. During my internet search I found etrailer.com. They had the tires I was looking for at a reasonable price. The purchase was quick and easy. The tires arrived on schedule and were exactly as described on the website.

by:

The tires look good, just the same as the old ones. Sould fit perfectly. Glad you had them as my local tire dealer told me they wern't made any more and couldn't be had. I think I'll point that out to him when I have him put them on the wheels. Thanks for keeping me informed about delivery. I always knew when to expect them. This was a happy transaction.

by:

This was the exact tire I was looking for and etrailer made it easy to get! Others tried to get close but could not come through; thanks etrailer!

by:

Bought 5 tires for my tandem axle trailer. 2 day shipping & a good price.

by:

by:

Third time I have purchased products for etrailer. Always great products and great service.

by:

by:

It's a less-common size tire, but was in stock at a fair price, and shipped promptly. We mounted 'er up, and it's been working fine for a year now.

by:

Fast service and priced very fair. I took advantage of the free shipping as well.

  • Replacement for the 6.90-9 Tire and Rim with 3.30" Hub Bore
We do have tires in the size you are looking for with the Kenda Loadstar K364 Trailer Tire - 6.90/6.00-9 part # AM10040. But I do not have any 9" rims with that bore diameter. Perhaps it is a 5 on 5.5 inch bolt pattern if you will please confirm this using the guide I have linked. Let me know the exact size and I will attempt to give you a solution that will work.

  • Replacement 6.90/6.00-9 Trailer Tires
The best option we can offer you would be to replace just the tires using the Kenda Loadstar K364 Trailer Tire part # AM10040 which will allow you to use your existing wheels saving you a bit of cash. These tires are tubeless so you won't have to worry about an inner tube. We unfortunately, don't offer any wheel/tire combos with this size tire.

Currently we only carry the tire you are looking for by itself. For that you would want part # AM10040. We do not offer this with a rim or have a rim separately that we can offer. If your rims are still good you could have this tire put on your rim.

  • Difference Between Tire Sizes 6.00-9 and 6.90/6.00-9
The 6.90/6.00-9 tire size is the same as your 6.00-9 tire size. Trailer tire sizing went through a change in the way the sizes are listed, and the 6.90/6.00-9 size lists both the newer and older sizes in order to indicate that the tire will work as a replacement for both tire size listings. The only 6.90/6.00-9 size tire we offer is the Kenda Loadstar K364 Trailer Tire # AM10040.

  • What is the Difference Between 9x4-1/2 and 9x5-1/2 Wheels
First off, the 9 must represent the wheel diameter, which is an odd size. So if 9 is the diameter that would make 4-1/2 and 5-1/2 the width. The diameter is not the actual overall diameter of the wheel, it is the diameter of where the tire sits on the wheel. And the width is not the overall width, it is the interior width where the tire sits, from bead seat to bead seat. I have linked a video to the right as an example. In it our tire and wheel expert explains the measurements. I can't...

If you went with a 4.80-12 in place of a 6.90-9 size tire you'd lose .6 of an inch in overall height and you'd lose at least 300 lbs of weight capacity. Probably would be better off with sticking to the 9 inch tire size like with part # AM10040.
