Always perfect product at best price and instataneous service!!

by:

This is the best way I've had lights on the dinghy. I've been towing for 30 years. It's great not to have to get into the vehicle wiring.

by:

Great Service. Good Products. Installation instructions were clear and well written. Full installation completed with no problems. Will be taking flat tow vehicle with RV for maiden voyage this weekend. Thanks for good service and support.

by:

Arrived as scheduled and works great. This system saved major problems with vehicle wiring. Just plug in to tow vehicle, mount light bar on towed vehicle and go. Fast and simple work around to problem..

by:

I use the light bar on my SUV towed behind my RV. The towed vehicle is a $50k SUV so I was not excited about tapping into the wiring, or drilling holes in the taillight for an extra incandescent light in a well designed LED setup. I just have two comments. One make sure you zip tie the transmitter. If you are driving on 95 in the Northeast it will vibrate out. I am glad I thought of it or I would have been very unhappy. Second, you can not tell if the light runs out of juice. If it was not for irate truckers honking I would not have known. Be ready with a backup power supply in case your driving day includes a 3 hour delay due to accidents. Otherwise it has clung well, worked great and is very bright. I would recommend this product for any tower’s

I just received the Custer Smart Light from etrailer yesterday. Charged the light bar for a few hours as recommended then mounted it to the roof of my SUV and plugged the transmitter into my motorhome. The light bar works as advertised. Time will tell if this item holds up to about 8K miles of towing per year. If all is well after a years use I give it 5 stars.

by:

Lead acid battery only lasts about 6 hours when new. It has already quit taking a charge and should have a lithium ion battery choice for longer life.

by:

I purchased this item to use while towing my bronco behind our motorhome. the charge only lasts 1-1 1/2 hours. the wireless connection is great, and the lights are great it's just the battery. this was a waste of money for our application and I have no other use for it. I am very disappointed.

by:

Light works good very easy to set up and use. I do wish the battery life was better. The first battery died after 2 months. Called Custer and they immideatly sent me a new battery within a few days. The battery was easy to exchange and only took about 5 Min. The new battery has been good for the last 11 months. The batttery will need to be recharged after about 6 hours of use.

by:

Great, as always!

by:

Haven't had time to really use it, but I connected it and all lights appear to be working as designed. This saved me a lot of time. Rather than having to run wiring through my truck and modify the taillights, this will do just fine! Hope it holds up and glad it's made in the USA.

Love it! No hassle, no fuss. Only issue I had was forgetting to recharge life of the battery isnt all that long but we dont RV much at night. My truck bed didnt have a cigarette lighter that was hot with the key off. I ran a hot lighter to the bed and problem solved. This unit beat the extensive wiring that necessary to make my truck lights work off the RV Class A.

2000 Ford F-350, 450, and 550 Cab and Chassis

1. My radio antenna is in the way (2021 Cherokee). I have to place the unit in front of the antenna so the magnets cover the roof steel 100%. I remove the whip so the center light can barely be seen. Can I do that?
2. No directions came with it. How do you replace the battery?
3. Should have come with a charger I can plug into the wall. Do you sell one?

I reached out to the manufacturer about the question on the placement of the light and they will reach out to you to discuss it. I recommend viewing the video that we have on the light for information on installation. The rechargeable battery charges with the included 12V DC accessory socket.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L didn’t have the wiring harness available yet at the time I had the front hitch installed so I opted for the Custer wireless LED tow bar light. It has performed well during our 3800 miles trip this summer. No problem encountered.

2022 Ford Bronco

Im using this unit on my truck/camper towing my 2022 ford bronco. first problem i had was NO METAL on the bronco..lol I had to fabricate a metal bracket to mount on top of the spare tire. once that was complete the unit works great. the stop light feature flashes under braking, which is really nice as it really gets trailing traffics attention. magnets are super strong. easy installation (if you have something steel to sit it on)..

works great, strong rubber coated magnets hold tight, could not be an easier way to install lights on tow vehicle.

A few glitches ,but nothing a handyman couldnt handle, 1 nut that holds the handle on vibrated off and was rattling around inside the unit, had to disassemble the light to replace. The charger connection plug became a loose fit causing intermittent charging while traveling, distorted the male plug to an oval to keep connection tight.

by:

The internal battery is very limited. It is difficult to ascertain when it is on and when the battery dies. It seems to have almost no life and when it goes out while driving you don’t know and are going without signal in a crowded freeway (voice of experience). We run a charge cable to the unit to keep it alive. We also add to modify the unit so that we could run the charge cable because of the location of the jeeps antenna. Would not buy again.

by:

The ease of set up and use is just fabulous. The only drawback for me is the battery life. We have used this on several trips and only get about 7-8 hours of use before needing a charge. So, if you are planning a long day of driving, plan to charge during a stop or 2.

by:

I use the light bar to pull my car behind the motorhome. Light bar kept me from cutting the wiring in my new car. Works great

by:
2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Simple install. Works great. Eliminates a lot of wire splicing that can only lead to problems. I would highly recommend this Tow Bar Light as opposed to running wires to the tail lights.

by:

Poor quality trailer light connector/transmitter. I received two different ones both with already broken transmitters. The first one was the wrong part anyway.

  • Will Wireless LED Tow Bar Light Work with 2023 Ford Bronco
Hey Mike, if you wanted to use the Wireless Tow Bar Light Bar part # LIW-LDTL-7B as a flat tow lighting kit for your Bronco as it's being flat towed behind your motorhome it would work exactly like you would want it. The turn signals of it would flash in unison with your tow vehicle turn signals like you are wanting. The confirmed to fit your Bronco is a wording error as it would not plug into the Bronco and would instead attach to it with the magnetic base. What tow bar and base plate...

  • Looking For Wireless Magnetic Trailer Lights To Use In Case Of Emergency
Hey Mark, thanks for reaching out. We do have wireless taillights, but no clearance lights. I do have a few options for you to look at. First, we have the Universal Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304. These use a wireless transmitter that plugs into the vehicles 4-flat plug, then the lights themselves are battery powered. They are technically wireless although you do have wires on the transmitter, and wires connecting the tow lights together. If you want something that is more truly wireless,...

Hello Denny, My apologies for the delay, getting this battery added to our site took a little more time that expected. How long have you had the light? I am curious to know how long the battery lasted.

At present there is only one option available for the 2007 Mini Cooper Hardtop S Model, the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, # 521877-1; this is confirmed to fit your vehicle. For a tow bar, I suggest the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520. This hitch-mounted tow bar has stainless steel, telescoping arms that automatically lock into place. That way you can get your vehicle lights working in tandem with the RV lights without cutting or splicing the vehicles harness at all. Aside from that, we do have wireless...
