Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the center of your rear bumper.
Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-way connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Be careful with etrailer.com. The website tends to recommend more expensive products you may not need. I'm a newbie to towing and ignorantly bought this wiring harness reccomended for my 2023 Santa Cruz. I could have saved myself $[XX] and bought a standard 4-pin harness. Now I'm out $[XX] to ship back the 7-pin connector I really don't need.
For some reason the wire harness failed after only 2 months so I had to buy another .

Got the receiver hitch for our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L last evening. Watched the video provided by ETRAILER then went to work on it the next afternoon. Everything needed for the install was in the box. Used the wife's small hands to put the bolts in and start the nuts for me while I held the hitch in place. If I didn't have visitors stop in to see the new foals in the pasture, I would have had the job done in under the time hours the video said it would take. The wife was happy that I didn't break or scatch anything. Thank you ETRAILER for the assistance ahead of the install. Made the job go very smoothly.
Easy to install. only takes a few minutes. Recommend making liberal use of zip ties to make sure internal box cant move by securing to existing factory harness. Note that it does require you to procure your own connector mounting hardware. I required a plate to extend the plug out further from the drawbar and a mounting plate to mount the 7 conductor plug assembly.
This product does not work on the Hyundai Santa Cruz. It does not provide an easy hookup for factory towing. You will still need to run 2 lines from battery to brake module and rear connector. It does not simplify anything.

Perfect Direct connection to the factory connector. Had to modify the 7 pin connectors mounting holes because they would not line up with the curt C67UR but was an easy mod. Also you will also need to purchase 10- 24 or 10-32 bolts and nuts to install the 7 pin to the mount.

The lights don’t work. The blinkers, hazards and brake lights work but the actual running lights do not.

I'd recommend using a circuit tester on the trailer connector pin that's fed by the brown wire, which should show current when the running lamps/headlights are activated. If there's no power, check the 30A Trailer fuse in the engine compartment fuse panel.
Easy plug and play harness installation.
Plug and play with the factory installed base tow harness. Works great and easy to install. I appreciate the connector into the back of the 7 way connector as these sometimes need to be replaced over time from being worn out or corrosion and this feature will make it easy to replace with a new one. The reason I gave it 4 stars is it does not come with the bracket to mount the 7way....? I designed and printed one out of carbon fiber reinforced nylon so it will never rust and need replacement, but a simple bracket should be included.
Since this harness is wired for a vehicle factory pre wired for a hitch and electric brakes, I had to modify it to work on the 2023 Tuscon that did not come with a factory hitch. The car had a pre wired connection that only supports lights, which was OK. I cut the blue wire that goes to the 7 way and soldered it to the downstream side of the fused yellow +12. This powered the Bluetooth brake controller, works perfectly!
